well being mostly a classic rock guy a lot of the songs that are played during trips are more current, not bad stuff but I rarely know who the artist is... these songs stick in my head and when I hear them when I'm out and about between Vegas trips my mind goes right to Vegas. If I do find out who the artist is I'll buy the song and add it to my Vegas playlist... Brittny, Train, Maroon5 are a few artists that I probably wouldn't have on my phone but for Vegas... "it's all about the bass, the bass..." that song has been stuck in my head for I think like 5 years now!

Love all the Vegas standards listed!

I have 2 types of "remind me of Vegas songs" the first being the one I hear constantly while IN Vegas. I don't really follow pop music so it takes me a while to figure out what the hell I'm listening to.

This is the current "always playing in Vegas" song, MLife is usually the most guilty of putting tunes on repeat. I had no idea who was singing it. I know it's kinda old, but they still play it!

Then there is the current ganster rap du jour on my gym playlist that somehow mashes up with my Vegas daydreaming.

    Damn I love this song!

For me it's Usher - Yeah! That scene from The Hangover when the guys are on top of the roof at CP is pretty awesome.

These are great and totally adding them to my playlist. Right now it's called Aria inspired because I've heard them on repeat at Aria casino or pool, or just make me think of being there. Here are some of my highlights:

    1. Call by Francesco Yates (who also happens to be the cousin of my co-worker)
    2. Float On by Modest Mouse
    3. Latch by Disclosure feat. Sam Smith
    4. Let's Go by Calvin Harris
    5. Time Of Our Lives by Pitbull
    6. A Sky Full of Stars by Coldplay

Yup - just turned it on to listen to while at work.

This is probably totally wacko and twice as lengthy, but to answer the question, I have two favorite songs. Neither would remind most folks of Vegas, but I always play the songs in my head when I'm there, most often while playing blackjack. If I were a betting man (DUH), I'd wager that no one else would pick either: "Both Sides Now" (Joni Mitchell) and "Sittin' On The Dock Of The Bay" (Otis Redding). Allow me to explain.

More than a few times, always when drinking a lot, I hold up my two initial cards (if horrible), turn them around and upside down, and break into "I've looked at cards (original lyrics used clouds) from both sides now, from win and lose and still somehow … " you probably don't need to hear the rest.

The other song contains what I consider extremely appropriate if not prophetic lyrics – with a few minor changes: "I left my home in Georgia" … (me too) - "Headed for the 'Frisco bay" (substitute Vegas), "Cause I had nothing to live for" (think nothing better to do) - "And look like nothin's gonna come my way" (we've all been there).

"I'm sittin on the dock of the bay" (think casino) - "Sittin' in the morning sun – sittin' when the envenin' come" (think sitting at the tables all day) – "Watching the ships roll in" (think dealt hands or dice) – "And then I watch 'em roll away again" (as repetitive as the tide) - "So I'm just sitting on the dock of the bay - Watching the tide roll away - Ooo, I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay – Wastin' time."

"Look like nothing's gonna change – Everything still remains the same – I can't do what 10 people tell me to do" (ever get advice at the table?) – "So I guess I'll remain the same, yes - Sittin' here resting my bones – And this loneliness won't leave me alone" (I've been going to LV solo the past 4 years) – "It's two thousand miles I roamed – Just to make this dock my home" (close – the airline gives 1,750 miles ATL – LAS, and after 109 trips it feels like home.)

Fortunately, I can't sing or dance worth a flip, or I'd make a video!

After years staying at Bellagio any song they use for the fountains takes me back. Along with the rat pack and oddly enough “Brick House” which is on my Vegas playlist for the plane along with “Hell” by the squirrel nut zappers. It is the bonus song from hell’s bells slot.

The Way You Love Me (Faith Hill)
    Breathe (Faith Hill)
They played a LOT of Faith Hill late night at the Mirage in the late 90s/early 2000s.

I Try (Macy Gray) A cover band performed this every Friday afternoon at the Fontana bar in Bellagio, early 2000s

Empty Streets (track number 6 on a CD of the Wynn playlist I got in 2006)
