You could maybe wait. Vital Vegas just put out a tweet for the new owner of the Cosmo not to F@#&K it up. Didn't say anything else but a couple others have commented that it could be MGM. Could also be a comment to whoever eventually buys it, but it is getting closer to reality every day.

So what would that mean exactly? Would prices go down? Quality go down?

Your guess is as good as mine. I generally stay at Mlife properties for higher end rooms as they cost less than Cosmo, V/P and Wynn. But whoever buys Cosmo for close to $3B they are asking would need to make a good profit to get a return on investment.

I've been thinking of seeding Cosmo for a comp even though they seem to prefer slot players, but with MGM looking at it before I have waited to see if they buy it, as I get 3-4 day comps at Mlife including Aria and Bellagio. Also, anything I would do at Cosmo now wouldn't really count much after a sale if it was bought by a casino that I already have a history with.

I am going to do as little play as possible this weekend at cosmo to still get to the sterling level... With the food and stuff we are doing it won't take me much.. I am going to take my gambling to either Cromwell or PH for the weekend..

The bathroom layout. Studio has a long traditional bathtub, with a cut out window (with blinds) peeking into the bedroom. (I don't remember if it's jetted, but it's a good size)

    T. O.B. (terrace one bedroom) has a Japanese soaking tub with a huge window. Square shape and deep, like a mini hot tub in your room.

Rooms are close enough on quality that it's really split on who likes what. I like the terrace one bedroom, Geo and others prefer the studio. These are from online, but I've stayed in both the studio and TOB, and these are accurate pics of the bathroom:

    Terrace One Bedroom tub.

You don't see it in the above photo, but one one side of the tub is a big open window into the bedroom (blinds you can close) which I really like. This is a pre-reno room on decor, but no changes to bonuses of bath area and shower. The first window looks into the huge shower (now frosted glass) the second window has no glass and peeks into the bath... I love the Japanese soaking tubs! tob-bedroom-wit.jpg .

This looks like mid-teens, maybe low 20s for floor #. 30's are higher.

Indeed - otherwise your view is of the NYNY, Park, and towards the south.

So in the studio rooms, there is no privacy between the bathroom and the bedroom area? If so, that would be a deal breaker for me.

There is a shade that you can pull down. It blocks maybe 95%. The toilet has a door so you can close that when youre using it.

Thanks, just make sure there's no noises or smells coming from the bathroom while one of us is sleeping. LOL

I disagree. Any play you give Cosmo will of course be researched and transitioned over to Mlife if MGM is in fact the buyer. Part of the price tag is acquiring their book of players - it's silly to think that they would just throw that data in the garbage and not continue to award comps to their players.

sorry to the OP as when I reread you post you weren't really talking about player club comparisons. But on that, IF is is MGM that is the buyer, then they may not completely dismiss my play at Cosmo but the 5-100 Identity points I might get playing table games (still not sure how the Identity system works for that) won't mean much and they may just throw it in the garbage and concentrate on the higher end players. Especially compared to my status already with Mlife. IF MGM is the buyer, I will get comps for Cosmo based on my current Mlife comps and not on the little play I give to Cosmo now. I would suspect that most Identity members either are/or were Mlife members. This is different if it is the Seminole tribe that ends up being the buyer or Ferttita or even Derek Stevens. Mlife iwouldn't be buying it for the players list or the presence on the Strip unlike those others. Those are just extras thrown in and other than knowing the high end players is probably almost more a nuisance than anything because they will need to combine them into the Mlife system. They would transition status, points, maybe a few other things, but things like the free room nights(s) at a certain level are not part of the Mlife system and would be gone.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like since the recent remodel, they put a window in this spot instead of the shades. It looks similar to the window in the shower of the 1 bedroom, see-through but not too revealing. You can see it at :20 in this video:

Don't worry, bathtub has a thick blind/shade for visual coverage, and @grapplefu nailed it, there is a true door on the "water closet"... the elegant term for porcelain decor...

Other than paying for 1 night at GN, we haven't paid for a room in what seems like forever but we opted to pay to stay at Cosmo this upcoming trip in Aug.
It is a terrace room with fountain view.
The 2 night stay is costing about $600.
Will post back to let you know if it was worth it.

I would definitely choose Cosmo over MGM. Nicer property, better atmosphere, and not as big. Nothing against MGM, which is fun and I like, but Cosmo all day. Have drinks at the Chandelier Bar and ask for Renata.

I ended up booking the Terrace Studio - Premium (Fountain) View. I'm keeping the MGM reservation for now just in case I change my mind.
Are there any preferred floors/towers/etc I should request?

I inquired about this in my thread and here is a reply....

    - Tower Request?
The boulevard tower is nearer the strip and SportsBook. The Chelsea is nearer hotel check in, Rideshare, and valet and self park. If you can pick, pick what’s nearer your activities. More walking the strip and SportsBook... pick boulevard. More car travel and leaving property... pick Chelsea. Low floors on boulevard may be a touch louder. Keep in mind after recent renovation some room types are not in both towers. Research the room types online if you have a specific request.

So it looks like I should pick Boulevard. How do I pick a particular tower? I didn't see an option to choose when I booked.

Ask at check in or you can call and tell them to put a note on your reservation. If you're actually wanting to see the fountain show, request a high floor. Maybe 25 and higher. Any lower and your view may be partially blocked by the Bellagio sign.
