Nothing wrong with Frontier! Flown them out of Branson a few times back the first time they were flying there. This time around, crazy layovers (8 - 15 hours) since they only have one flight in there per day, for the return flight, and the outbound flight gets you to LV around midnight.

I'd do the Frontier out of STL, except for the blasted redeye return flight. Hell, even @tringlomane, has cussed it, and he lived in STL.

If the fever doesn't break, I can do KC in a few weeks for $4xx on SW.

Or just listen to my wife: "if you can afford to gamble, you can afford the airfare" I choose to interpret that in the good way, since it is a loaded statement.

    I assume SWA?

Drive to Tulsa, 376 is the "high" cheap price all day long. (178 each way). I see it anywhere from 99, 117, 128, 160, and 178 depending. Jump on the Turner and drop the hammer, your there in 75 minutes.

I have paid nearly $700 RT from the east coast to LV. It's all relative. Comp room and great memories, and I made my flight money back the first night and then some at the Sportsbook.

When I was single and no family I used to sometimes book same day departures on Friday's leaving after work. I think the most I paid was $700 one way. Southwest was always $500 plus same day.

M was trying to sleep on our ~6.5 hour drive today. The way she slept said it reminded her being in a Frontier seat. Doh!

Or you can wait til 7/15 when I’ll be there. To answer your question I’ve paid $900 for an extra night in Vegas (2 tix back to STL). I’ve seen me do it!

The way the docket looks, 7/13-17 would be most likely. Currently evicting two and probably gonna be three by Monday. Course the third won't hit the courts till beginning of August.

4.x percent tax free bond fund sounds better everyday!

every time I've done it spur of the moment, I've burned AA miles as the cash price has always looked silly. I suspect Frontier, Allegiant, or Sun Country may have some random decent last minute pricing on flights that aren't full.

I think I would pay $400. Anything higher than that, I'd take an Ibuprofen and lay down.

I haven't paid for a flight (for personal vacation) other than Disney in so long I'd really have to think this through. I am now down to basically 1 RT & 1-one way on SW until I accumulate more miles.

Of course I told my daughter she could use the SW miles if she needed for the wedding we all have to go to in San Antonio later this year. Why did I do that? I know I was sober when I said it - but now I am kicking myself lol!!! We can use the $1000 Delta bump credit I took in April. If we decide to fly SW or AA I can book my conference trip on Delta, use the credit and get reimbursed in cash to cover the other airline.

I am going to say $375 for my best 'guestimate'. And I don't even want to go that high lol. I have to toss another $80 on top of that for the shuttle from regional city to MSP also. If it is more than that I will just stay home. It's a matter of principal to me.

I keep seeing regional offers from the small airport for $151 or $167 etc. However you have to be gone around 10 days!!!!

Flights for Christmas for me are around $500 round trip from NYC this year. Not sure if this is normal now. I used to go every Christmas, but haven't in about three years. I am also not flexible at all with my dates, which is another thing. I used to leave around the middle of the month and I cannot do that any longer. I have enough miles to cover it though, from traveling for work.

Funny I just cancelled room reservations cause I did not like the prices of the flights. (Also just got back from Atlantic City yesterday) Refused to pay $300 no bags for a flight on Frontier when I have never paid more than $150 all in. My fault though for not buying earlier.

My company usually pays $500-$700 round trip when I go for a conference.

When I go for vacation I usually pay $150 round trip by using Air Miles. I can't remember if that is $150 total, or $150 for my wife and I combined.

Yeah, I'm with you. I can't find a flight less than $750 RT from NYC flying Delta Comfort. And those are flying red-eyes / early AM. For that reason I've cut back on the frequency of Vegas trips....kinda sad, really. Meanwhile, a three hour drive to AC costs me 120 in gas and food and I get to leave on my own terms. So, since my rooms are comped, that $750 flight to Vegas is like one SOLID night in AC with room, food, and gambling budget to earn 500-1000 TCs.

To get the best total R/T flight cost for me, I usually have to use one-way flights on two different airlines. Normally, I have accrued enough using Amex to use toward a Delta one way to cut it down significantly. Then, either a one-way on SWA or Allegiant back home. My goal is typically not to be out of pocket more than 350.00. I will not go one way to Vegas on Allegiant, however, because....Allegiant! Too much chance of being delayed or cancelled! Going home, I can be delayed however in Vegas!
