    My Trip Report

Well, I guess it's about that time again, for me to create a place to share my thoughts and pictures on my next adventure in Las Vegas. Subtitle - the trip that's not nearly as over the top as the last one, financially speaking. I never did get around to wrapping up my last TR and still have a few good stories to share from that trip - maybe I'l share tomorrow during my marathon layover, but for now, I'm trying to convince myself to go to bed soon, because I board a plane fewer than 10 hours from now, bound for Las Vegas via Atlanta.

The neighbor's cat was out and about again this evening, but I had bad luck gambling last time, and I'm not a cat person, so as much hate as this will earn me, I decided to blame the cat. So no pictures of the cat. Also the $50 bills. This time I have a fresh bankroll all in $20 and $100 denominations, all ready to go. I'll work a dog picture in here somewhere, but I'm not sure he's sure I'm going anywhere yet, even though he tried to jump in the suitcase earlier.

I have been thinking about it, and although I've traveled alone many times, I think this is the first solo trip of my life where I wasn't meeting someone for business or had someone staying with me when I get wherever I'm going. So maybe some soul searching will happen. But I highly f*king doubt it. Most likely there will just be eating, drinking, gambling, drinking, and gambling. And meeting up with a bunch of fellow degenerates from the internet for, well, drinking and gambling, and possibly some eating.

I have a premium end hallway room at Paris comped for the first couple nights and under $100 out the door Friday night, so this is a cheap trip other than the $1155 airfare and the gambling bankroll, which is...more than that. I will be trying like hell to bribe my way in to any room with a whirlpool bath tub. Alone in a room, I would use one of these probably daily, I just don't like tying up the bathroom in a shared room, or worry about someone else walking in and out, whatever. So the first Vegas room I've had without a whirlpool tub is my first solo stay. Perfect. Hopefully not. We'll see what happens.

The main plan is no plans, except for the VMB activities. Who knows what kind of trouble I'll get in to. I will be scoping out the Rewards desk as soon as I get there and try to get either a pair of tickets to something Friday or one each for Wednesday and Friday, depending on what's available. Also check out diamond lounges just because I'm allowed in there now. I don't have high expectations, but I'll hit up a couple when drink service sucks in the casino, if they're open at the time.

So I have a travel suit already hung on the bathroom door waiting for me in the morning, which could only mean I'm just about ready to leave!

First Solo trip, so what more appropriate prelude is there than this!

And seriously - if anyone wants to meet up for whatever kind of trouble or dining out, whatever, hit me up. I am fine eating alone but prefer not to.

We’ll be there Thursday. We have the same room reserved too. The P rooms have a tub but it’s not jetted but good for soaking. Bring some epsome salts.

    Can wait for the m&g!

You're never alone in LV. Just start talking to the guy next to you at the bar, slot machine, sports book, pool lounge chair....

Awww...poor kid. I feel so guilty leaving him home alone on a fireworks day, but take some solace in the fact he's a tough guy. He doesn't really freak out with the fireworks, but he sometimes wants to kick their ass!

I'm all checked in for my flight, waiting at the gate. Got lucky at TSA and the person right in front of me was selected for random harassment by the sassy government worker lady, which made smooth sailing for me because sassy govt worker was busy. Phew. Side note, dug thru the collection and found a lucky tie for Vegas. It literally has the word Lucky all over it, as well as a full compliment of horse shoes and four leaf clovers lol. Cheesy as heck? Yes! Perfect!

Little things I like about Delta domestic first vs other airlines - bottled water waiting in your seat, power outlets even in this tiny ass CRJ, and they took our drink orders before even beginning Comfort+ boarding. So we can drink while "peasant" class boards lol

WP_20190703_07_47_34_Pro.jpg Ahhhh....yeezzzzz...nothing wrong with drinking at 07:45. I mean, I'm not alone, there are people sitting all around me! Woman behind me heard me order mimosa, asked FA what it is, said "I think I'll have that!"

I like "peasant class". We refer to it as "Tuna fish class" because while you're eating your 3 course meal complete with linen and hot fudge sundaes, they're given a can of tuna (BYO can opener).

Well it's 08:54 am. I've had 3 mimosas and a banana, and I'm in Atlanta for the next way too many hours. Not sure what the plan is yet. I have a healthy buzz. Might check out Minute Suites but I think I'm too awake and my body used to getting to work around now so I probably couldn't sleep. Going to wander around aimlessly for a while and see what happens.

Layovers suck. At least there's a lot to see in the Atlanta airport, and all that walking( with 3 mimosas on board )should mean a nice long nap on the flight to Vegas. Enjoy your solo trip.

I agree. Sitting in a lounge right now about literally 6 inches from an AC vent. I was a little warm on the plane with a suit on because it was parked over night and the flight was so short (and full) the plane didnt really cool down. Hoping to pass out on the next flight after I eat. That would be great. Next flight is supposed to start boarding at 12:35 if it's on time. It's not even on the boards yet here.

They oversold economy and offered $500 in Tallahassee for volunteers to fly out at 10:10 instead of 08:00. I volunteered but they said "Oh no sir first class is not sold out we can get you there on time no problem!" Dammit. Lol

Checked with Delta to see if I could get on 11:30 am flight. Nope, all sold out and checked in except a middle seat in the back of economy. Not going to pay extra for that upgrade'. Every first class seat to Vegas is sold out until about 4pm, so I wait.

Well my plane is at the gate now. 737-900. Thought I was on another A321. I prefer the Boeing. But then I looked down and noticed the smashed windshield sections in the back of this pickup truck and the shiny new looking glass on the plane. That does not instill a great deal of confidence lol!

Edit: Because I have an abundance of time, I looked more carefully at the shattered windshield glass, and determined it is not in fact from a 737. Wrong shape. But some pilot recently had a bad day, and its kinda weird to me they left them right outside a boarding area window in full view of everyone.
