There are several posts regarding this topic, nostresshere sums it up to "average money bet or played per day" I guess, i am looking for a more personal response. To keep this story as short as possible, My girlfriend and I are staying at NYNY again this next July. It just so happens to fall on the girlfriends birthday, I planned to email a host and see if they could set me up with the exact room i want, help with getting a limo to and from the airport, and maybe a discount on a show. This may seem like a large or small request, again i know that depends on the player. I have never had a host or sought after one. My bank roll for this trip will be 4k for a four day trip for gambling, so roughly 1K a day (1.5k on slots and rest on craps) Would this type of play get the hosts attention? I planned on going over what type of play they could expect from me.

Can anyone with host action at NYNY give me any details on their experience or how much they play? Honestly I'm not expecting a whole lot, i plan to pay for these things if i need to (it's in the budget) but it'd definitely be nice to get some things comped or discounted.

this trip is quite a ways out, but i get pumped booking vegas trips and looking into all the things we could do!

    Thanks for all the help

Not having direct experience with NYNY or requesting comps from mLife, but with that bankroll for that many days, you're better of offering to pay for those perks and letting your overall play dictate what they'd cover on the back end.

Based on my experience your bankroll/budget at CET (Caesars) would only cover the room comp in the Augustus Tower. (maybe the limo to/from the airport)

I would say that this is not a large enough bankroll for a host to pay attention

So that's July 2020, then? You can't even do a paid booking that far out yet, nor will a host respond without corresponding play history. Book it on a paid basis when your dates open up in a couple weeks, contacting the concierge for limo and show tickets to ensure they'll get charged to your room, and they'll review your play on the back end (which is what a host will tell you if they do respond anyway).

does your $4k budget include having to pay for rooms or shows if that is the case? Or is the $4k only the gambling part of the budget?

do you already have an Mlife card that a host could look up past play history?

I think paying up front and checking in on back end comps at the end of the trip is your best bet for receiving any comp help.

If you're looking for upfront comps, its going to depend more on your past play. If there's not much, I doubt you'll get much of what your are asking for at this time.

LOL yeah, it's quite a ways off, I usually have to plan my vacation time a year or farther out due to traveling so much for work. I was talking with a friend, and the conversation arose of "just contact a host" i wouldn't even attempt to get ahold of someone till the month before. The conversation got me thinking and that's how i landed here. When the time comes, I'm just going to play what I planned on the trip and hit the mlife desk on the way out and see what they have to offer. thanks for the help

I agree with @DaiLun and @VegasBJ that play level probably isn't enough to cold call a host and get all that stuff upfront even if your play history is similar to your bankroll for this planned trip.

Pay for the room upfront, you probably will have a lower chance of getting bumped out of it. If you have a host book it, he could wind up having to choose between you and a bigger player. Limo could be arranged by the concierge (I assume NYNY has one).

Show tix, the limo, and all or partial room comp can be covered at the end if you play enough.

I'm just going with this plan and hit the Mlife players desk before checkout and see what they can discount me on. But the 4k would be for gambling only! Hotels, food, etc would be separate! Thanks for the comment.

I agree with this comment. I suggest calling the concierge. They may not be able to help you with a show discount, but they can assist you with a limo and can make a note on your profile regarding a specific room

Adding to the comment above: I agree with the idea the concierge would be most useful. However, closer to the time email the host office about a discount on a show if you have history with the casino. It’s one small item and will show you where you stand. If they offer nothing you haven’t lost anything. I also agree with seeking back end comps if you hit a lucky streak especially.

First off.. nobody is going to give you much time for something that far in the future. Stuff happens. Things change.

Next - do you have any history with MGM or CET or any casino for that matter?

I realize no one is going to give me time per the request now, the reason I’m inquiring due to the fact I have to plan vacation out nearly a year in advance due to traveling so much for work. I was planning ahead and the thought came to mind. I wouldn’t attempt to get a hold of someone no earlier then 3 weeks in advanced. But yes, I do have a history with MGM. In March we stayed at Bellagio, was able to hit gold tier in about a 2 day trip. So I guess there is a small amount of player history, but nothing to give me a call about. After going over everyone’s advice, i intend to hit the mlife desk before check out and see if I’m rewarded any comps. Thanks for your reply.

Come spring next year, you might have some offers online. Maybe at least rooms.
    Do you get emails?

I could be wrong and help me out but Mlife doesn't really do anything for you on the way out. You would need to speak to a host on duty on the way out to see what they can do. I only say this because I have stopped by Mlife a couple times at the end of a trip and they just looked at my credits that I gained to see if they could drop anything off. They didn't appear to have any power to remove charges.

They have power.. but it all depends on the level of play. I am guessing the vast majority of folks are not going to get any backend play. And in many cases, will not even earn enough Express Comps to do anything.

Also, when someone gets free room upfront, they take that into account when looking at back end comps.

    EDIT
Just read the post above again, maybe you are saying Mlife reps have no power, but a host does. That would be true... again, tied to play

    That's what I am saying.

Mlife has only ever looked at my Express Comps to see if I earned enough to use against my charges.

A Host on Duty would be the person to speak to in order to have room charges etc removed.

Please excuse for being a "Debbie Downer", but I'm saying this to be realistic and up front.

As a former mLife Platinum, let me assure that "Gold ain't s**t" IMHO, you'd need to be Platinum or have a history (at least a year, or 5 or 6 high level sessions) with a host to even think about asking for what you're asking for.

IMHO, if it's something that you want/need and HAVE to HAVE. Pay for it. It's much cheaper that way.

I am a CET 7* and I wouldn't even think of asking for that because I know that the play requirement would be AT LEAST $12,500 coin in per day, every day (slots) or $25,000 VP.

How would you feel if they DID up front you everything you requested, but required an INSANE amount of play to cover it? And then, to make it worse, you had a bad run and couldn't meet the play requirements. They wouldn't charge you or anything, but you will have ruined your reputation at that casino/chain for a long, long time.

Besides, you're going with your S.O. for her birthday. Isn't the time better spent with her rather than being down in the casino playing for your comps?

The people who ask for those kind of things typically have 5 or 6 digit (left of the decimal point) marker lines and use them regularly.

I think you would have a much easier time taking about 500 dollars from your bank roll and doing a "self comp" Extremely nice limo round trip through one of the services is going to be around 150 with tips. You get the limo for an hour and so the driver may hook you up with a stop or 2 or a strip ride as well. You can upgrade to champagne in the limo and can book that when you book your flights. 20 dollar tips each way is reasonable, more if the driver makes a significant add-on to the trip for free.
As to the shows, I would suggest starting to play myvegas on facebook. BOGO show tickets aren't that difficult to obtain and they are easily redeemed. We have done Love, KA, Zumanity, and Chris Angel. If she wants to play too you might even be able to each get a free ticket.

As to the room question, when you say specific do you mean like a room number or room type. If it's a room type (suite?) call reservations and book directly and plan to pay. When you are leaving see what the host can do. If it's a type like high floor strip view book that and if comped tip at check-in to ensure that it should happen.

Bankroll doesn't attract a host until it's about 10x yours per day. Play and time attract host at much lower levels. My bankroll is about 1k per day, almost exclusively slots and VP, and I have a great host with CET, but that's because I cycle it to the tune of about 10k per day.

We are big planners in advance for trips, not quite 13 months, but I have had trips booked 11 months in advance. When you go and play in December you should stop in at the host office and chat with them. Especially since you're not concerned about the comp part they may be willing to help you out, charge it all to your room and then comp what they can after.
