Good deal for the Lakers that they didn't have to give up Kuzma, whom the Pels had been pushing for. Lakers definitely a top tier contender now...

IF is the word , that's a big, big word . if he's stays healthy and davis too , they will be in the mix, now the lakers can still get another top tier free agent and be under the cap, lets see who they get .

Keeping Kuzma a major plus. The key now is to build around those three guys. As a Warriors' fan I hope they keep Rondo and Lance Stephenson. Maybe even pick up Carmelo Anthony.

Maybe Jimmy Butler , or Cousins, I think they keep Rondo , he's not bad at all.

Resign Rondo, land Butler and fill the roster with other ring chasing vets and they will be playing in June.

Lakers need to use the rest of the cap for a couple of b level free agents that can shoot. Sh$t, LBJ, AD and Kuzma, they only have 2 other guys under contract. That's only 5 players signed!!!!!!!!!!!

With Jimmy Butler, they can make a run. Without...i don't see them even getting top 4 in the West

That’s a pretty damn steep price to pay. Even if they make a deep run in the next year or two they’re going to get old very quick without any first round picks. I get why they had to make the trade; to save face after the fiasco in January and also to try to capitalize on LeBron’s shrinking window, but that is a helluva lot to give up for a guy that has missed a lot of games in his career. This will be interesting to see how it plays out. I’m guessing right about now the Laker’s front office is on bended knees hoping and praying James and Davis can stay healthy for the next few years.

As someone mentioned above they need to go and get at least two bonafide shooters.

Isn’t Davis a free agent after this next season??
There isn’t a guarantee that he would resign.

They are going all in for the title next year. They are banking that the kids they traded will never win a title (likely right) and that Lebron/AD/whoever else will validate signing Lebron in the first place. With KD and Klay down, Lebron won't ever have a better chance to sneak one more ring on his finger than next season. Vegas oddsmakers believe that.

If I was betting I'd bet it will not be the Lakers. It's a whole team of players and I mean a whole team except for 3 players that have not played together and a whole new bench of coaches. That pretty much does not win a ring the first year, ever!

I just don't think they will win , with what they got , even if they get Butler , or Kemba.
@shokhead you think they are going to win the championship ????

If they sign Butler, I wouldn't straight up call it a bad signing, as he is a top 20 player.

But he would be a bad fit with Lebron, and that money could undoubtedly be better spent elsewhere.
