Okay...let me streamline the Elvis story in my usual convoluted way:wiggle: .... and then husband can come in afterward and give his restaurant review and summary for the trip.

We left off last night with the surprise sipper at Costa di Mare. Amazed and exasperated, we asked if we could speak to The King so as to give our thanks but they told us he had just left the building.
The bartender did give us a nice bit of info about Elvis' whereabouts and asked us to keep it to ourselves.
Of course, dear bartender. No problem. We know how to keep a secret. :evillaugh:

Since the location tip he supplied wasn't coming to fruition til the morning, we went to play a few slots to get it out of our systems before a good night's sleep.

Chose to go back to Hitchcock and nicely enough, got a couple of decent wins.

Hubs is the one with the ticket. The other is my final tally til I cashed out.

Not too shabby. Decided to call it a night and prepare for finally finding Elvis in the morning.

Got up early, showered, packed and headed out to the location our tipster gave us.

Just as we arrived, we saw a suspicious vehicle speed off and took chase. :biker::alien::alien::alien:

We were finally going to get to the bottom of this. On hot pursuit, we tailed them all the way to Yermo...(Yes, Yermo. Look it up :D).
They sped into a parking lot and pulled up to an eatery of some sort, racing inside to try and elude us.
We were seconds behind them and the chase was on. Ran inside and started a search of the premises.
Lo and behold, to our wondering eyes did appear...THE KING, HIMSELF. :faint:

We thanked him for his generosity and invited him to sit with us for some breakfast.
He kindly agreed and we asked him a few questions about what the hell was going on with the aliens and stuff?
He shook his head and told us he was abducted a while back...beamed up to some weird spaceship where they tried to persuade him to become the Captain of their Starship. He tried it for a while but it just wasn't a good fit.

    ELVISKIRK.jpg

Then they attempted an Elvis-Alien hybrid by using some of his DNA from a half-eaten fried peanut butter and banana sandwich.
Needless to say, that didn't work out too well. o_O :rolleyes:

    ELVISSPACEALIENMONSTER.jpg What the hell? :hmmm:

Told us the owners of Peggy Sue's Diner took him in and gave him a safe space (yes, I said space :alien:) to perform his music once again.

Says he feels like it's the good old days. :nworthy:
We finished our pancakes and said our goodbyes, knowing he was in a good place.

I'm glad you found him. I was starting to worry. Please check each other for radiation.

Thanks for the suspense (Hitchcock obviously approves) and all the fun! Hope you are safely home and counting down to the next adventure.

Hubs here: The King has been found. Who would have thunk he'd be hiding in a 50s diner across the street from a USMC Logistics Annex?

Now on to the summary. Slots were streaky. The various Buffaloes loved me long time at Venetian, but I couldn't get a moo at Wynn. OTOH, Hitch was feeling generous wherever we found him. Great game. Was surprised that the Flintstones weren't to be found anywhere we were this trip. Major bummer.

On the food side: Hit the Wynn buffet on Wednesday. The endless pour option is nice, with a good selection of beers and wines to choose from. The wife got her shrimp fix and we managed to waddle away without too much effort. I've already reported on Thursday breakfast, so let's skip to dinner at Costa di Mare. Mixed review from me, but still in the high 80s/low 90s for a score.
We decided to small-dish it, so we worked up a series of appetizers. Amuse-bouche was an artichoke/truffle soup in a demitasse cup that was amazing. I could easily lapped up a couple of bowls full of the stuff. This was followed by some excellent breads. Langoustines followed, cooked over a wood-fire grill and basted with butter, olive oil and fresh herbs. Delicious, for the wife at least. And no, @thecarve... the koi fish were not harmed or eaten in the writing of this report.

    Langoustines. Wife says .

Not being a particular lover of shellfish I had a bowl of the chef's lawn clippings dressed with a truly delicious vinaigrette.
galaxyquestanimategrabtharshammer.gif Why can't I get a decent salad in this place? Wife is now .

Next course was tartare and deep-fried zucchini blossoms stuffed with bits of anchovy and a buffalo moz. The former was adequate while the latter was scrumptious! The anchovy flavor really added the umami to the dish. We finished up with ravioli di ricotta con caciotta Toscana (sheep’s milk ricotta ravioli, Tuscan pecorino cheese, Marsala wine glaze) and gnocchi al sugo di fungi gallancci e spinaci (housemade gnocchi, chanterelles, spinach, pecorino). Mixed review here. The ravioli was sublime, while the gnocchi were, in a word, funky. Same sheep's milk cheese in both, but it worked in the ravioli. The gnocchi not so much. Nice and pillowy dumplings, but with a distinct whiff of old gym bag. Weird, that.

Dessert was a selection of Wynn's amazing gelatos and sorbets, with a surprise pour of Remy Martin Louis XIII cognac. This tipple is made up of over 1200 different eau-de-vies ranging in age from 40 to over 100 years old. It was ok.:D

Then a impromptu breakfast at Peggy Sue's, which we've always wanted to stop at. A short stack, Denver omelet and some coffee later and we were back at home, which was blessedly free of cat puke or hairballs. And we found Elvis!!! :headbang:

Thanks to all for following along on this little escapade. Live long and prosper. So say we all.

Thanks so much to both of you, my @ardee VMB friends! I really enjoyed coming along on your "quest for Elvis" trip report.

The drinks were spectacular (they looked yummy anyway....) the food looked (and I bet tasted) wonderful. And you both had fun on the gambling front! Whether you were able to take your wins home doesn't matter. Having fun and a great time matters.

I'm a bit :( right now. Because an ardee trip report is finished. And also because I don't have a Vegas trip planned in the near future.

But I can always look forward to another ardee trip report. Then I'm bound to be :woohoo::woot::beer: :D

Loved all the great pics. The Remy Martin looked great; and I’ll wager it tasted even better. Per usual, super write up on the food by hubs. His critiques on restaurants are always so well received and appreciated.

Thanks again for such a fun TR to follow along with, or should I say exTRaterrestial? ;)
