I received an email offer for June. Calendar rates range from
$581 to $788 a night in June & July for a King room.
Rates over $800 a night for a Double. Not much of an offer!

Received a similar offer but with a $150 f&b credit. No thanks, I’d rather just go to Vegas.

I'm honestly confused as to why rates are so crazy. Locals wouldn't need to stay at the casino. Tourists who travel just to gamble would go to Las Vegas or even Atlantic city for a larger variety of casino choices. Tourists who want to visit Boston would have much better hotel locations for better prices.

Who exactly is going to be staying here for those rates? Maybe the prices are just because it is opening.

Yeah, I got the F&B offer too, which is funny because they usually comp rooms before F&B in Vegas lol

You would think that with a grand opening, they would have lower teaser rates to attract people into staying there. If I were a tourist visiting the Boston area, I wouldn't stay there at those rates!

Rates were $500/night on the weekends at MGM Springfield when it opened. That’s a small casino...in Springfield. Do not underestimate pent up demand or the public’s desire to check out the new scene. Prices will come down over time but I expect that the weekend rack rate in summer will always be $400+.

    re: lower rates?
Unless they believe they will fill the place, no matter how much they charge, no need to do lower rates. They know they can fill it at $100, but if you can get $500, why not? And, chances are, folks that will spend $500 will also spend lots on food, gambling, etc.

If they get within a week of opening and have lots of rooms, they will surely be able to move them. Guessing that will not be an issue.

That's what we got as well. Room rates were high $5's the first week or so and then over $600 after that. If you recall, MGMNH did the same thing when they first opened and now they're comping rooms pretty similar to Vegas.

Hmmm.....let's see: $3,000+ for 5 nights at Encore BH or $600 for flights to Vegas and free rooms at Encore LV and 2 casino's and way more restaurants to choose from. No-brainer. They'll wake up or have a lot of empty rooms IMO.

It is very disappointing, but I am taking a wait and see attitude. I don't know anyone excited enough about the property to pay that kind of $$. I might take a ride down and check it out in July, but if I play I probably won't use a card since I get fair offers from Wynn Vegas and don't want to mess that up. Time will tell what happens.

I sort of wish Wynn bought Borgata instead of MGM, but alas they were more keen on building up Boston.

I imagine those rates dissipate pretty quickly after a few weekends, but I’d still expect rack to be $600~ (given how steep Boston rooms are anyway). Although that is a ton of rooms to fill.

15 restaurants is pretty big. That's as much as wynncore. I'm curious to see what the reviews will be like. And, if the pricing will be higher or lower than Vegas.

I see why the made certain choices and think their choices coincide well with what a Boston-ite may opt for (i.e. two Italian choices, fewer Asian restaurants, and a solid steakhouse) but I get a feel that the restaurants are generally a notch below what they have in Vegas and certain choices they made have me scratching my head. For example, why have "Bru" and "Dunkin" if they serve similar items and are both open 24 hours. Also Dunkin is SO far removed from the Encore brand. Then, it looks like they were open to bringing restaurants over from Vegas so why not bring La Cave? Who doesn't like an upscale wine bar with tapas? Or Mizumi Teppan since there's an art of the show?

Spot on.....One of our favorite places to sit and enjoy the food and the wine in Vegas is LaCave. We're going for a week in Sept and I guarantee you we'll eat there at least twice:nworthy:

Have you tried their brunch? It's stellar and (in my opinion) rather thrifty. Also, be warned, there was construction going on when I went there in late May. I'd call to see when they think it'll be over. Unless I was too drunk and not seeing straight, it looked like scaffolding obstructing all outdoor / patio seating.

Also, they installed a brand new couch in the main dining area.
