Here’s possible help to give a general idea. Times are DEPARTING times so don’t expect to arrive as given and it is ready to load.

    Thank you for the video.

Now that the Plaza offers a free airport shuttle to and from airport, I will be using that.

I appreciate all the help though from everyone. I just found out about the Plaza airport shuttle last night.

So looks like LONG WALKS through McCarran anyway you choose. Would agree with earlier poster...last trip drove past downtown bus center in locked rental car, and still felt sketchy!

How bad are ride share lineups? One time I tried it at McCarran seemed to be long wait for elevators to second floor. Then looks like long wait for ride too. Been a year since I tried it...better or worse?

Unless things have changed recently, the Plaza offers a shuttle for hotel guests to the airport. Unless you have made special arrangements ahead of time, such as with a host, I don't believe the Plaza offers free rides from the airport. But heck, I could be wrong!

The good news is they now offer a shuttle TO and FROM airport. It is on their web site under the hotel tab and I even confirmed this with Gary. I didn't believe it either. LOL This is a huge perk, and it saves me about 40.00 for RT for 2 people. :lock:

That may be one of the best written instructive posts I have ever seen. And I write technical procedures for a living. Well done!

This was a sudden change and it appears it is being advertised with more gumption as of late. Both JJ and Plaza in general have been tweeting about it for a few days now.

Personally, if I didn't have limo, I'd rather take the bus dropping off at BTC (during the day). It is a rather quick walk to the valet entrance to the Plaza. The characters there include homeless, but also families and normal people traveling using a very cheap method. I would no more be in fear there than I am in the casinos or walking Plaza to MSS or Cal. *shrug*

I know tee, you take the bus and I'll take your limo. LMAO.

I'm just so glad that the Plaza has this shuttle now. I think it puts them over the edge on a whole lot of other hotels.

And, nothing wrong with the bus. I just have never taken it from the airport. I use it everywhere else though.

Although, I really should take a deep breath and learn how to use Uber/Lyft. LOL :bang:

Okay, vegasdev, you have convinced me. We definitely are going to use Uber/Lyft at least once in Vegas. I'll start taking deep breaths now. LOL

    Thanks

one more note about the WAX:
someone mentioned that is has a luggage rack. well, not always. often times it does not. it should but it don't.
they know that most people taking this route are going to/from the airport and they should make a better effort to supply a bus equipped with a luggage rack.

With a suitcase on wheels, and a carry-on, I can manage a quick walking pace. Better to walk quick than be strolling in the heat from the sun.

And with the new Starbucks along the street, there is almost no "dead" space. I have walked it many times with my wheelie bag.
I recently got a letter from the Nevada RTC stating that the senior card needed to be shown or "swiped" on all buses now. So at some point just stop in at the transit center and have one made if you want the savings. You can swipe the card at the TVMs to enable the lower senior cost before buying your pass. I even showed one of the transit people how to do it by the Binion's stop!:haha:

I was just in Vegas and the only time I had to swipe my senior card was when I bought my ticket from the machine. Rode the Deuce and SDX

My Reduced Fare ID expired nearly 5 years ago, but I've never had the slightest difficulty flashing it to the driver and putting in $1. (They couldn't care less, so I haven't had an incentive to get a new one.) I very seldom take other buses and don't have a clue if my old card will work with the TVM's.

I did the text thing yesterday at the airport.
    I was impressed.
Thank you for this suggestion Bubbakitty.

Turtleman, I was staying Downtown last year. I had a senior ID from RTCSNV, but it had expired.

I tried to use it to get a reduced fare ticket at the ticket vending machine next to Binion’s. The expired ID would not work. I hiked over to the Bonneville Transportation Center and got a new one with my photo on it.

That new one has worked every time at the TVM machines. Half price fares. $10 for a three day pass instead of $20.

And recently, they put in a new rule that even when you have the ticket and swipe the ticket, you must show the driver the ID, and then swipe the ID across a scanner. I have done that also without a problem.

It’s not as simple as it was, but it is still possible to get half price fares — if you follow their procedures.

Turtleman, I do see your point. If you are only using the WAX, and not dealing with the ticket vending machines, the drivers may be fine with the older ID.

I certainly wasn’t disagreeing with you, just adding something for others who might be getting other types of passes, particularly from the machines.

    Best wishes!
