    My Trip Report

    VegasMay+ 051.JPG

    Still recovering from the trip,
pics and gambling details incoming pending an answer from sonya that I might as well ask here too,
does posting pictures automatically remove all identifying exif data?

"alea iacta est", we may have crossed the rubicon into our first winning trip in a very long (ever?) time.
Including an incredible last night comeback from a -420 quick kick in the sack at craps.

(including hitting at least two "three way" (Me, dealer, shooter), hard 10s ("puppy paws"), I believe at least one of them was parlayed to 10 and pressed to 2 for everyone else.)

Still no royals but my partner "P" lit up the slots and got out of our last two trip DDB VP funk.

Shout out to @Timothy Miller (GG Host who posted a hello to everyone but hasn't posted lately) for putting us into a golden gate suite for two nights.

details to trickle out soon, hopefully

    what's the holdup?

we (she) actually scrapbook our trips, so I may get lazy and post more summary pics, I also have index cards of all the gambling action that needs processing.

Let me start by introducing my partner, soul mate, love of my life, and fellow gambling degenerate, we will call her P, this is a teaser of her slot queen action from our last trip:

Well, might as well get started,
    Day 1
Had a smooth drive into Vegas, stopped at stateline to grab a beer and use the facilities,
played a little bit at the cutest tiny mini tub craps table, lost some,
P makes up for it playing slots.

    Check into Cal,
begin using $75 food comp to eat at redwood steakhouse,
(funny story we never thought it was open for social hour- until we tried to open the door sometime, it was just empty, the bartender was lonely and makes a mean moscow mule, food is great, also they have some beers not available at the other bars like tsingtao, Asahi, Sapporo, Kirin)

cross the bridge and start playing at MSS
sit at BHB for a drink and poke at DDB, get bored (-$20), and move to a BJ table, play a bit, ($-20), get bored and hit the craps table.
Catch a hot black chip roller who is consistently covering all the hard ways with a black chip each. makes my dollar bets seem tiny so get on a few for $2/1 two way player control and some presses to $5.
Like all sucker bets, you need to stay consistent so stay on all the hard ways all the time, usually with dealer bets on a few/all as well.
He has an incredible roll, hitting his fair share of hard ways, end up +$500
think to myself this will be the best damn roll I'll see all trip and pretty much was correct.

    $300 in, 9:19pm:

    VegasMay2019- 029 - Copy.JPG

meanwhile P catches 4 2s and 3 kicker and 4 5's at DDB, gives some back on the astrocat slot.

convert $50 fp into $47 at the cal, via a wonder4 slot (miss kitty bonus game, nothing on the buffalo part)

lost track of time, must have continued playing at MSS/Cal with no major swings.
10:31 pm : grabbed a Club sandwich to bring up to the room, had a chat at the counter with someone that recommended the Tocino, or Fillipino breakfast, which has rice, eggs, and some kind of sweet Char Sui sausage. (have not tried yet)

bank 400 into an envelope to be raided later.

During this trip, hit the lucky frog thing for 10Kpts, 10K pts, then $50 food.

Also someone (maybe me in two weeks) needs to investigate and report on Cal room service, we twice saw trays outside our neighbors door and were confused, on the day we left we saw info (in the in room guide) that room service is available, but there were not any details.

I believe so, they appear to be resized and when I download one from my report and look at the exif data it only had info about VMB (which was added by MacOS.)

    Day 2
catch $50 free food on the Cal frog thing, it is good for 48 hours , until Friday, and we assume (correctly) that it is single use, use it then lose it.

Check into our (double booked) Golden Gate suite, compliments of @Timothy Miller,
    VegasMay2019- 043GGsuite.jpg

pop out to Pizza Rock for happy hour, after a bit of a wait, have the best pizza ever (perfect crust), then mosey back to MSS to play some more, then grab some food at 777.

Return to GG right around time the dancers come out and music gets louder.

Put $120 into $3 quick hits, hit only one bonus, take remaining $71 into high limit top dollar ($1) and play to 0.

Cocktail service is slow as usual, which I counter by starting at Bar VP, getting a stone delicious which I take to the table, then ordering a backup beer when possible. Two beers at the table gives the time buffer needed to stay drinking.

Start with first try at Free Bet 21, which a friend loved and recommended, only get a few free doubles and splits, and get frustrated at the greater amount of 22 pushes.
Play some regular BJ, then end up hanging out at the Craps table for a long stretch
Pretty decent times, except for (later in the night) a few surly dealers yelling at players to not throw money at them. One in particular (man named mabel?) draws a comment from my table mate that he is exceptionally rude. Try to shake it off and keep making two way hard dealer bets. Communication is difficult as usual due to the loud music.

At some point during someones hot roll a large drunk fellow starts yelling that the change machine has taken his ticket and not paid him out. He gets a bit ornery, starts pacing around and yelling louder, and it takes a bit of time for anyone to assist him, he understandably did not want to go to the cage for help, leaving his unpaid ticket sucked into the machine. Surprisingly, the roll continued.
    ..
P must hit a few on slots (pics incoming), because we bank another 400, also to be raided later.
    ......
at end of night (or was it next day?) redeem ACG coupon for $80 free play, pop it into 1.50 quick hits, and pull $120 out

roll up into the room tipsy around 5 am, at which point the floor is completely dead, maybe two BJ tables up and a single near empty Craps table,
for some reason, neither of us can go to sleep in the suite, feels like the (untrue) legend of pumped O2, maybe it's the openness and novelty of the room, which is shockingly quiet.

Have coffee and move back to the cal for breakfast and passing out in a familiar room.

at the end of the trip, Tim breaks out that we did about 482 theo in 6 hours , (not?) suprisingly, our VP/slot play counts for 3x my table play at BJ and craps.
IIRC at some point a pit boss told me they count Craps odds bets into play rating, but I'd take that with a grain of salt, its prob rated at 0% HA.

Which pizza did you get? One thing I love about Pizza Rock is that they have so many different types of crust and baking methods so that you get the perfect pizza.

It was the regular happy hour mini pizza with mushrooms, paired with Meatballs, a small house salad, a Big Dog Las Vegas Lager (~ 5%) , and an Ice tea, $27+$7 tip

On a previous trip we had the "limited" margherita, my two dinner companions enjoyed it a lot, but I felt the crust was a little soggy or it was pulled out a bit too early. This trip it was funny because right when we were wondering what was taking so long, it came out and the perfect crust had me saying "bravo to the chef for taking the time to make it perfect".

Had two slices left, which we wrapped in foil and brought to the room. Tried to eat one at 6:00 am, crust was soggy and ruined, might have been better in a box, but oh well.

I am glad you asked about your theoretical. A lot of players dont. Are you saying that you spent one night in a Golden Gate suite where you put in $482 theo? Maybe I am used to the strip but I assume casinos comp 30% of the theo or in your case $144. I assume Tim was happy with your action.

Actually we had two nights, but did not play the second day due to being up all night, and I told him such. I am also trying to get a grasp on this (first host) and asked at least twice whether my play was enough for the comp. I think he diplomatically declined to answer. I felt like we slightly underplayed but we did do nearly 6K coin in, and have been popping in every trip for the freeplay and usually playing for a few hours more than we expect to. We have done over 10K in in both 2018 and this year, and will continue to drop in. He also is a pretty straight shooter, could not slot us in for the weekend due to a high limit slot tournament, but did come up with the room for Wed/Thurs night. There may be some kind of time or ADT factor in play because we did do that in a 6 hour period, and our other trips were pretty heavy play in short periods of time.

Night 2 (cont) trying to recreate from notes, memory is blurry,
12:45 am - apparently late this night we return to MSS to rest our ears and eat second dinner at 777.
    Push hard at craps (-200)
    and play some blackjack (-50)

    2:45 am, return to GG
hit the craps table, at some point I am flanked on both sides by don't bettors,
think I manage better then they do, after some ebbs and flows leave (-20)
scratch out a few small wins at BJ and DDB
at some point do a count and seem to only be -30 overall. (@ gg)

I think in regular BJ catch an ugly split and double of 9's vs a 2 and lose, spend the rest of that session fighting to get back even (and do)

meanwhile, P is playing DDB VP and catches 4 8's and 4 6's, then hits for +337 and +200 on tokyo kitty.

end the night when the floor is all but empty and the many stone delicious IPAs catch up with me, around 5am, and stumble up to the room

Night 2 (P side) "The Slot Queen awakens"
(corrections: after pizza rock we went to the jerky store to buy gifts, hit ABC to load some drinks into the fridge at GG, played some more at gg, then took the gifts to drop them into our car at cal, then we probably chilled in the Cal room for a while, went over the bridge to play some at MSS, then ate a sourdough sandwich at 777, then went back to GG in the wee hours to give them fair play for the suite)

oops wait got some pictures from the P side, while I'm scratching out tiny ratings on tables,

    (MUSICAL INTERLUDE)

with all due respect to the thread
    https://www.vegasmessageboard.com/forums/index.php?threads/your-favorite-lyrics-in-a-song-and-why-it-means-so-much-to-you.162708
I really can go all night.
I have this vision of a dj in the GG high limit room, blowing it up, but I don't think they need the help filling the tables up.

    (foreshadowing, perhaps)
    For the poker players:

also, just remembered all our attempts to push up from quarter to fifty cent DDB were stymied so we never pressed it.

    -- more found pics --
maybe craps/BJ didn't go as bad as I thought?

oh, just remembered, sometime around the time I am flanked by don't bettors on each side (because thats the way things go), a shooter hits my first ALL SMALL I have ever hit (just $1, they usually come down fast), with only an 11 left to hit to hit the ALL TALL and complete the ALLs. (which would have paid $180) I remember there is some way to hedge a single missing number with a don't bet, but can't figure out how to hedge the 11. (tell me if it can be done, I can't think of how). This run of numbers probably helped me out of the hole on craps. I think while he spent several rolls going for the 11 (which I kept betting to make the payoff even sweeter), was when the guy starts yelling about his stuck ticket in the change machine. I am shaking my head thinking he's a cooler. Shooter kept shooting but couldn't land the 11.

at GG every little bit of stick and run helped.... every time we poke in there for free play or just a bit we usually end up staying a few hours longer than we expect. Except when we can't handle the music. This trip it was definitely quiter pre dancing dealer, and maybe a notch down during.. still..... Tim says its the #1 complaint w no food #2 but he can only share feedback and management is happy with where it's at.

Here's the view of the other side of the GG suite, toilet and showers are separate so none of that door issue the regular bathrooms have.
Ladies, while P thought the bed bath and bodyworks toiletries in the regular room were nice, she was stoked the suite had toiletries from L'Occitane. Unfortunately the maid never did our room so we only scored one set.

    VegasMay2019- 077.JPG

another correction, I always thought I went for long times and played fairly decent (though mostly red chip- i know, nothing worth anything on the strip) action, and knew BJ and craps were tightly rated, but this was the first trip I got info on play, and my table action counted for 1/10 of total Theo. House take on totals in had 2.7% at the tables and a surprisingly decent 4.1% on slots/VP.

Day 3 : The hits continue
Vegas baby, don't get to sleep until 2:00 pm, then sleep till 7:00 pm,
P picks up Beef Stew from aloha specialties and we eat it in the room while slowly getting ready.

    start trekking down fremont
(I think this is when we stopped in at GG to redeem the ACG ticket for $5 per 50 points in 24 hrs , maximum $100)
get $80 free play, pop it into 1.50 quick hits, and pull $120 out

    Head to Four Queens,
find two machines at the corner of the bar, but one is out of paper. A slot lady comes by to reload it, and P jumps on it, we both joke this machine must be paying out all day.
We each slide a hundy in, and ...
9:33 pm, P takes out the four K progressive for $66.50
    VegasMay2019- 082.JPG
9:53, she gets 3s with Ace Kicker, $210
    VegasMay2019- 083.JPG

She plays it up to $300, tickets out, I give her a twenty to hang around while I play out my now halved stake.

    and 10:07, 4's
    P-May2019- 138.JPG

She has taken down 3 of the 5 progressives. We missed both 4 aces (Look at that juicy $677 progressive!) , and they don't come up. I manage to survive and finally catch my first 4OAK @ 10:15, 7's

    VegasMay2019- 085.JPG

Also, as charlie brown would say, I got this requisite rock:
    VegasMay2019- 086.JPG

when I try to cash out, my ticket does not come out, reminding me of the GG change machine guy. Machine indicates it has paid out with is unnerving, soon a slot attendant comes, says "this machine again", and fishes out the bent somewhat wet ticket from inside.
decide that's a pretty damn nice run in an hour, and scoot our way to Fremont

at Freemont jump on the craps table, hoping to join the dice club.
Have a 13 shot roll, the woman to my left does 16. Someone has a funny roll where the dice ding right into the counter for a 7 out.
What's up with this, so many times lately, I have just established a camaraderie with my neighbors (this was a mother and her two daughters, both had nice throws and the one that ran 16 was doing an incredible comeback from all in), then some big drunk guy pushes his way between us, when there is a big empty slot to the right.
I let it go and hope his sporadic field bets don't last. They don't.

Think I come out a little up and go play blackjack.
Sit at at great table where everyone's joking around and good-naturedly heckling the dealers, float around up and down, making both sucker bets, probably cash out down a ways but with something.
Catch up with P and she's been hot to trot on the slots:

    musical interlude:
when you wake up at 7:00 pm in vegas,

and btw, can any Hawaiians in here explain what "hokulani" means. Some new friends at the MSS craps table a trip ago had me yelling that (and Biggies "It was all a dream!") on every roll. Things went well. When I googled it later I could only see it was a region and a girls name.

my go to yell on hard 8s is "kick in the door waving the four four"
I actually once asked a deebo looking guy across the table "you know this one? kick in the door waving the four four", then threw it right under his jaw. Afterwards I realized that was a bit too nervy if it hadn't hit.

more craps memories, many trips ago I ended up drunk at the Cal craps table, fighting for my life with the last of my chips and very late with only a rather "gangster" looking fellow with neck and face tattoos, that was also fighting felt. He kept yelling "come on craig" during my rolls, later I had to look it up, and like Deebo, it was a Friday reference and actually really a great reference to the way some craps rolls go:
