    -tons of pool time
-food with a fun vibe. Don’t care if it’s quick, casual, or lengthy. Only requirement is that it’s from somewhere we don’t have at home.
-Vegas is just about the only place I gamble, so I get in a couple hours a day at least
-hop around to gamble. I love walking the strip and checking out the vibe in several different casinos each night
    -lots of drinking

    3. Messing around with my favorite MSS craps dealers, Grant and Kevin.
. heckling kevin into calling "puppy paws" for hard 10, he wouldn't do it even when my $5 dealer bet hit, gotta admire a man that stands by his principles

We are relentlessly boring, but we’re happy amusing ourselves:

    1. After unpacking have lunch at Terrace Pointe, either a Cobb salad or a cheeseburger and one of their terrific old fashioned milkshakes.

    2. Spend first afternoon gambling and maybe hit Louis Vuitton or Hermès for Mrs. Johnny swag while Johnny is still flush with cash.

    3. Always first and last nights at the Wynn buffet.

    4. Start the day with a gym visit, followed by a soak and steam at the Spa, then downstairs for breakfast. Mrs. Johnny might work out, but prefers to enjoy the huge room and bath, then meet at Tableau.

    5. Hit the pool. Go downstairs and swim some long laps in the big Wynn pool-intensity of this depends on intensity of gym visit. Lay about the pool until we get hot or hungry.

    6. Decide on a lunch venue. Some favorites are: Wazuzu, Trevi, Mon Ami Gabi, Terrace Pointe, Spago, The Palm, Charlie’s, maybe elaborate snacking in a poolside cabana.

    7. Gamble seriously, although I’m old and need to take breaks. Sometimes I succumb to a nap.

    8. Decide on dinner. We always do one or two fine dining dinners-Lakeside and Sinatra is a perfect trip-we love both. Maybe Prime or SW. We like casual dinners at Allegro or even going across the bridge to have pizza at Grimaldi’s. We might be seen having chicken fingers at Charlie’s if we’re not at the buffet. Gamble until overcome by need to sleep (this occurs earlier as the years go by, sigh). Not a lot of drinking-usually beer or a Margarita at lunch and a bottle of wine at dinner. Neither of us drink while gambling, ever.

    9. Intersperse with touristy wandering about, occasionally a trip downtown ( I love rolling dice at the Four Queens), maybe a little shopping. Sometimes a show-usually a headliner because we’ve seen most of the resident production shows more than once. Have been to Grand Canyon, Red Rock and Hoover dam too many times to go back unless we’re hosting rookies.

    10. Sadly go home. Plan the next trip (usually ‘next’ trip is already planned-trip after that). Muse on how we’d never appear to be Mr. and Mrs. Excitement to others, but how completely happy we are doing Vegas our own way.

Can you tell we’re all about food, gambling and hanging out? Works for us.

In no particular order (except for the first item)
    1. After checking into hotel head directly to Sirrico's at NYNY to eat Pizza.
    2. Wander the strip
    3. Play favorite slots.
    4. Drink
    5. Checkout fountains (daily) and conservatory (once or twice). Maybe Volcano.
    6. Wander the strip
    7. Go to attraction (Maybe Eiffel Tower, maybe Shark Reef, maybe something new).
    8. Try to check off list of restaurants to eat at for that trip. (never enough meals or room in my belly to get to all the places I want to eat at).
    9. Wander strip
    10. Buy tall can of beer from CVS/WalGreen's to drink in room as I wind down for the night, every night.

    1. Disconnect from the real world. Even our kids know better than to call/text me.
    2. First meal of the trip: nachos and beer.
    3. Blackjack in the morning, slots/vp the rest of the day.
    4. Go to at least one show.
    5. Dress up (khakis and polo shirt) and go to one nice restaurant.
    6. Watch a sunset or sunrise from our room.
    7. Spend tons of quality time with my lovely wife.

beer is my thing. Lots of it too.

I play some slots but nit that much, more just to get more beer than anything else.

Also like to score discounts and good deals on food and such. yes, i have been known to hut up the gas station for hot dogs and nachos. I find great joy in scoring a cheap or discounted meal.

To answer the question as posed, my ideal (and within the reach of realistic) Vegas trip consists of the following, expressed in eight bullet points...

    - Staying in at least one nice suite, ideally with a sweet view. Having grown up "house poor", I only ever knew of staying in hotels as "the cheapest room at a halfway decent hotel"... which means that staying in a room of 1,000+ square feet with a living room, two bathrooms, etc., will always have a semi-surreal feel to it, because it's the type of living I'd always regarded as out of reach to me (and I was frequently told as a child/teenager I'd never have the opportunity to see it, though that's probably a therapy topic, lol). Given the magnitude and relatively abundant availability of suites in Vegas, this is a big part of the experience for me.

    - On the other end of that spectrum, playing a decent amount of low-limit gaming. I sincerely do not care how ridiculous it would seem for me to go in a Lyft from something like a villa at the Wynn to a place like the Longhorn to play $2 blackjack and $0.05 video poker... that's just what I like doing. Even if I could afford to play $100+ blackjack, or $1+ video poker, I just can't imagine feeling comfortable betting that much money, with the underlying game being the exact same regardless of the denomination.

    - Sleeping in on all days, unless there's an absolute need to be up early, like for a tour.

    - In terms of food, I'd want to have in-room breakfast most if not all days. Lunch and/or dinner, I'd definitely hit some fancier spots and would certainly emphasize repeat visits to some of my favourites (Piero's, Carbone). Though I'd only want "fancy" if it's justified. If I just want a bite to eat, whether that's a burger, ramen, or some nachos, I'll specifically seek out a more "divey" place. I've had such foods in fancier settings, and there's just something that feels fundamentally wrong about it.

    - Lots of lounging by/hanging out in a pool, drinking beer... especially if that pool is the Sapphire pool. Still to this day my favourite place on earth.

    - Pool is also balanced out by visits to the spa. Since this is my "ideal" trip, an average day would go in the approximate order of... Wake up late > Have breakfast in the room > Hang out in the spa for an hour or two > Get a light bite to eat > Off to the pool > See what happens the rest of the day

    - Checking out interesting spots around town, whatever they may be. That could be a dive bar, a gallery, an off-the-beaten-path casino, or a unique sight from a movie that was shot in or around Vegas (i.e. Idle Spurs Tavern... the "60 miles to Vegas" bar that Nicky met Ace at in Casino when he was banned from every casino in the state). I've got a long list of this stuff that only gets longer, so "quirky tourism" is definitely a pillar to this ideal trip.

    - At least one full change of scenery. Whether that's down to Laughlin, up to Reno/Tahoe, or out to the Grand Canyon, I'd like at least a percentage of my trip to be "not in Vegas".

Interestingly, my upcoming trip actually fits into quite a bit of this...

    - Staying at a Sky Suite at the Aria

    - Making at least one trip out to Longhorn and Silver Nugget

    - Sleeping in for eight or nine of the twelve nights of my trip

    - A handful of fine dining, and in-room breakfast at least once. Interestingly, I'll be having Oyster Bar for breakfast one of the days

    - Three days in a row at the Sapphire pool, plus several more pool sessions planned, including a daybed at Plaza's pool (still my favourite hotel pool in Vegas)

    - Also three days in a row at the Aria spa. Would do more, but none of the other properties I'm staying at have a "real" spa

    - Much sightseeing planned; a quick preview includes playing an hour of grocery store video poker (just to observe what happens in a grocery store gambling corral on a Monday afternoon), seeing the Sorry for the Mess exhibit at UNLV's Barrick art gallery, High Roller at the Linq, and the USS Riverside cruise in Laughlin

    - Change of scenery, to Laughlin... which I cannot get enough of
