I didn't see this posted anywhere here on VMB, but back in the first week of May, Indiana Governor Holcomb signed a new gaming bill into law with these highlights:

-Mobile Sports Betting legalized effective September 1, 2019.

-Live dealer table games authorized at Caesars' two racino properties Indiana Grand and Harrah's Hoosier Park effective Jan 1, 2020, moved up a year from the previously-approved 2021 date.

-New Terre Haute casino license to be issued from surrender of one of Spectacle Entertainment's two licenses in Gary (Majestic Star I and II). License issuance will be competitive and is not guaranteed to be issued to Spectacle.

-Spectacle Entertainment can move its other license from a water-based casino in Gary to a new land-based casino in the I-80/I-94 corridors for a $20MM fee, with the same number of positions and tables as both existing casinos combined.

Thanks for posting this update. Illinois just passed sports betting. Not sure on the timeline. Excited to see what happens in Terre Haute - I'm not far over the border.

This is good news. I went to Hoosier Park one time, shortly after it was acquired, and was very disappointed to learn they didn't have live table games. Getting them approved will be a nice upgrade there. That'll make me more likely to take the scenic route home after a Purdue football game, and swing by the casino again. Thanks for sharing.

During my visit to Belterra three weeks ago I noticed a construction wall in the lobby between the restaurants and the boat. It must have been their sports book, because they plan on offering sports betting beginning on September ninth.

Most of the articles say yes to online eventually, but they have been advised to concentrate on the retail side first. I hoping that when mobile apps come out that I only have to drive a few miles across the river to use them.

the 2 racinos will be raking it in. Especially Indiana Grand. it is already pretty busy on Friday and Saturday. when they get the live table games, look out.
with all of that money, maybe they can clean the place up. the carpet is disgusting. the whole place could use a good make-over.
and HHP, I have only been there twice. I walked away with the impression that they started to build a casino and never finished.
they both have the potential to be a cash cow.

Yeah the boarder is about 20 minutes away. The actual casino is about another 20. Not so bad but for simple bets, it'll be nice to fill up on cheap gas and make some bets
