    What used to be on the land that the Drew is on? I thought it was on the South end of the Strip but the map in the last article shows it as being across the street from Circus Circus.

    The El Rancho, which is not to be confused with the original El Rancho which was across from the Sahara. According to Wiki, the El Rancho which was on the land where the Fountainedrew is now standing closed in July 1992, which was two months before my first trip to Vegas. I must've walked past the place on that trip, and do remember the "Coming Soon...….Countryland USA" in letters on its marquee later on:
