So is the happy hour night ride a free drink ride or do you just get better deals on the drinks? I am leading my summer trip of 22-27 relatives and their friends and I know they would like it but just not sure how free drinks work.

Are they actually good at serving drinks though? I heard people are only able to get 1 or 2 drinks before the ride is done.

Nice, maybe it depends on the bartender and the crowd then. My cousin went last year and he said he was only able to get 2 drinks.

    # of drinks is tied to bartender and the crowd. We had a small group, but the first few people decided to get something fancy - and did not know what... took way too long to decide and make. Still, I think we got 3 glasses of wine each.

We had a decent crowd. Bartender will serve as quick as they can make drinks

No problem getting several drinks across multiple rides.

Personally, I wouldn’t do the night time ride without the open bar. It’s part of the fun and novelty of it. The view is spectacular and makes it a ton of fun.

Discounts and promos are ever shifting for it. I have used travelzoo before for an amazing deal that’s expired. Sometimes it returns. CET status gets you discounts as well

OK have done this 2x HH & 2x without.
Honestly, on the ones with the HH we didn't enjoy the views as much...vying to get the next drink! Not high quality liquor--think domestics, well; don't bother with wine.
It's 30 min...I can load up prior for less than the cost increase. And HH pods usually have much longer waits than non.
PS Go at night. I like both but night is really special.

We had a great time in April!
FYI - If you happen to be Diamond with CET, you can get half price tickets!

It depends on the bartender and the crowd.

My first experience was a packed car with a bunch of unruly (read: already drunk) dudes clamoring for drinks, and our bartender was awesome. He had a good eagle eye and looked out for the other people in the car - he served everyone a couple rounds, and they were strong!! He made sure no one was too hammered by the time they got off though.

The sights were super cool, but it was hard to enjoy because the large group was crazy....flash cameras, space invaders, ugh. I would like to try this again during the day to see if I can get better photos.

I have only been on the High Roller once and it was a happy hour car. My entry was paid for, so that was good. The bartender was great, but I seem to remember that she advised us that standard drinks mean more drinks. So don't order something you came up with, lol. I had G & T, but since it was free I didn't care about getting my money's worth. Either way, it was fun and I would do it again, but if I was paying I wouldn't go for the happy hour.

Where did you hear this? I call BS. I personally got in probably 8 drinks, including shots for everyone that the bartender made at the top of the ride and a “roadie” at the end. The good bartenders will get everyone a drink within the first 3 minutes.

No menu, but it’s a full bar with solid mid to slightly top shelf booze. A few pics from one of my trips:

I had that same bartender when I went. He was awesome. I probably had 6 or 7 drinks, plus a shot when we reached the top, and a drink to go.

What he did was ask the crowd who wants a vodka drink. Those who did stepped up and he poured them right away. Then who wants a tequila drink. Then gin, etc, etc, etc. Drinks came without delay and were made well. He definitely earned his tip.

I've been on it once and although I don't remember how many drinks we had, I do remember I felt really good after lol. I had an older man as my bartender and he had a heavy hand.

I do want to go on it again though because when I went on there was this drunk group that were annoying in line, and even worse inside. I don't know if this is a new rule but he told us we couldn't have shots, which every one was fine with except for the drunk group. One of the girls started yelling at him and he told her nicely to be quite and she started going even crazier. Everyone else on the ride who was not with her part were telling her to calm down and she just kept going. He then tried giving her a shot so she would calm down and let everyone else enjoy the ride, and of course she didn't want it and was being a brat.

The ride was fun but this did put a damper on it, and hopefully on one of my upcoming trips we can ride it again and hope for a better group to ride with.
