Table Games Criss Cross Poker

Personally, I find it next to impossible to fold a hand at this game. If there is any chance of a "pay", then I take it. At the point of the middle bet, I am already in for at least $25 (if $5 table) so I will usually wager the final $5 and hope it is just the right card. Sometimes it is, more often, it is not, but it's 5 more dollars.

 

I played this game at Jack Casino in Cincinnati this weekend. The table was packed the whole time I was there. It's funny to me how this seems to be a popular game in every casino that it's in, but it just hasn't really caught on in Vegas. I hope it does well in Binion's and may find it's way back to the strip. Of course, I am also surprised that Mississippi Stud isn't more popular in Vegas. The Caesars properties have it but it doesn't seem to be in any of the MLife properties. What's up with that.

 

Looking forward to giving this a try at Binion's...I'll post back on how that goes.

 

I played about 8 hands of this on Thursday night... dealer & pit seemed thrilled that I did (no other players at the table).
It plays just like that simulator I posted up-thread.
Slow moving game... probably comparable to UTH. I imagine with a full table, it could be as few as 30 hands an hour.
It is "expensive"... a $5 table is really a $25 table (to stay in), plus another $5 to play the 5-card bonus bet (which I recommend playing - I hit on that more than I did the "regular" game.)

It's fun enough, I guess, to suggest that UTH players should give it a try.

(Oh yeah - result: I lost $30 total over those 8 hands).

 

Just returned from Vegas and saw this at the Linq, not many playing it though.

 

Played for about 30 minutes this past Monday at Binion's. Table was empty when I sat down and then were joined by 2 more people after a couple hands. It was fun. Big swings. Dealers were very methodical when looking at each players hands and then reading the felt on the payouts. Didn't do well and neither did the other 2 people playing with me.

 

This is an interesting game. It'd be a fun one to play on a video dealer with $3 limits to kill some time. Still potential for a big payout but not the $25-30 minimum of a $5 table.

Playing the simulator, it definitely seems like the money is really made on the middle bet. Once you have that pair of 6s or better on a hand, the middle is automatic as worst case scenario is you push, so you're getting a free 3x bet there and if you catch the right card you can get a big payout. With the swings in this game though even a $5 table would require a pretty hefty buy in to play for any sustained period of time.

It seems like the spots you're really going to make any money is getting dealt a pair of 6s or better with a free ride through at 3x, and the middle bet once you've made a pair of 6s or better somewhere else.

 

Did you play the "5-Card Bonus" bet?
I found myself winning on that more than I did on the regular game.

 

I did but not consistently. Can only remember it hitting once with two pair.

 

I always play the 5 card bonus bet. There are times that I win more on it than on my own hand.

 

I love this game. Play it all the time at my local casino. You have to be careful...can lose quickly but can win a lot just as quick! Hope to play it this fall in Vegas.

 

Visiting Las Vegas at the end of the month. Binion down town will be a stretch. Is there any other casinos on the Strip? Last time I heard from AGS ( owner of the Game) that by May they will be placing the tables in many casinos in Las Vegas.

 

They supposedly have one at the Linq. I plan on investigating it next week.

 

You pretty much need to have a big bankroll or hit something early on to play this game. I played at the Linq and bought in for $200. Did not win a hand but got a few "pushes" that actually netted a loss lol.

 

Confirmed. At least as of 5/5/2019. Played one brief session. Treaded water until I was dealt pocket aces. No other aces on the board but I was able to cash out about $50 above buy in. I love this game and would have played more but never enough time.

Played this at the Linq last week. Love this game and was very disappointed when Planet Hollywood removed it a year or two ago. It's obviously very volatile with high variance. The 5 cards the dealer puts on the board have a greater effect on your win rate than the cards you are dealt, assuming you're betting the 5-card bonus bet. I always play a little more on the 5-card bonus bet that the other spots.

 

Love love love this game! It can be risky but I always seem to keep my head above water.

 

I love this game, too. However, one word of caution. During peak times (evenings, holiday afternoons), the Linq raises the minimum to $10. I noticed it during the evenings leading up to Memorial Day, then at 2 p.m. on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. Oddly enough, after a few minutes, no one was playing. I passed through in about an hour and the minimum had been reduced back down to $5. Hopefully, they will see that at $25+ a hand, it's not necessary to raise the minimums.
