    Day 4 - Tues, May 7th

Slept for about 4.5 hours and woke up around 8:30am. Showered up and headed down. I wasn't hungry so I went to the baccarat tables.

In for $10k ($500 is missing from pic below as my first bet was a loss)
    image7.jpeg

    Out for
    image8.jpeg

$3300 win. Nice start to the morning! I then took a nice long stroll from Cosmo to Bellagio, then to Caesars, across the street to Flamingo, then through Cromwell, Bally's and then Paris. Didn't gamble at any of these places. Cool people watching and plenty of sights to see. It was around 11:00am now and it was time for some Pork Ramen and Crispy potatoes at MomoFuku.
    image9.jpeg

This ramen is to die for. Love it every time. The potatoes are very filling and I couldn't finish all of it.

I then took a cab to Mandalay Bay. I walked from there through Luxor, Excalibur, NYNY and then to MGM. Lots of people everywhere. One interesting observation is that Bellagio and MGM Grand almost always had baccarat players throughout their hi limit rooms and when I walked through it this day, there were zero at Bellagio and one at MGM. Even Cosmo had 5 or 6 at any one time. I think MLIFE is going downhill. Their skimpiness on comps combined with lower standards of service is not appealing to the players anymore. Caesar's had around 5 players so that was pretty normal to me. But even Caesar's service is not what it used to be.

I got a phone call from the executive host at Golden Nugget. She saw my play and introduced herself over the phone and invited me back. Now this is the old school Vegas that I know. I only lost $5k there at one sitting and she's already calling to get me back. I lose $10k at Planet Hollywood and no phone call to follow up from any host. In fact, I don't even have a host there, lol. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

I walk over to the Tropicana and no one was playing in the hi-limit area.

    I buy in for this
    image1.jpeg
    And cash out for this
    image2.jpeg

$1300 win. I've never won anything from the trop before so this was fun. Hehe. There was a lady who joined my table shortly after I sat down. She kept chatting with me and told me she's a local who has retired in Vegas 4 years now and originally from NY. She offered me a ride back to Cosmo but I declined. She was probably 25 years older than me. Wasn't interested. Hehe. But hey, age is just a number right?

Got back to Cosmo by walking back. Bought in for some more
    image3.jpeg
    Out for
    image4.jpeg

    $1200 win.

My buddies and I did dinner at STK at Cosmo. This place was posh and we ate like kings. The bill came to $550. Order the donuts from the dessert menu. They are THE best.

This was my last night with the fellas so we gambled at Planet Hollywood and Park MGM until around 2:00am. I won some more (probably around $2000) but didn't take photos of the chips.

It was time to say my farewells to the pals and call it a successful trip! We had great times and left with our standard "I'll see you when I see you". And left it at that.

    Day 5 is tomorrow!

    Day 5 - Wed, May 8th

My final day is here. The flight back home is at 11:25am and I need to pack up and get ready. I slept for about 4 hours and got up to pack. I did a pocket dump and the gambling count total for the trip so far was up $18,500. I have heard stories of how people can lose it all in the final hours of leaving Vegas so I wanted to be extra careful. I went downstairs to the casino host room in the Cosmo hi-limit area to check on my play to make sure my bill was taken care of. This is where some disappointment started. I had around $850 in charges to the room. I was staying at Cosmo under a promo for fully comped rooms and $300 food and beverage credit up front and no resort fee. So I would get all of this even if I didn't bet a dime. So I now needed to "earn" $550 with gambling time to complete my bill. According to Cosmo, they said I was rated at $600 per bet for 6 hours, winning over $19,000 from them this trip. I responded by saying that I know I was sitting at those tables for more than 8 hours. She responded by saying time at the table is not the same as time rated on their system because some games run "slower" than others. WTF? Anyways, she told me for my play, she could only comp up to $700 and that I would need to pay the last $150. I challenged her on this as having me pay $150 on a $850 total bill is petty and why don't they just make me happy by comping all of it? Is $150 really worth it to piss me off and not come back here? Then she said the most ridiculous thing ever. "Well, had you lost money on this trip, we would review it under different circumstances but you've won over $30,000 from us since last August 2018 so the hotel is not interested in comping you more". Holy Shit. She basically just revealed that they don't just look at theoretical loss. It matters if you actually do win or lose. WTF is this shit?

I was unhappy so I did what I needed to do. I wanted to win more of their money. I bought in for $3500 and came out with this.
    image6.jpeg

Yep. Up $900. Kiss my ass Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. I complained to my actual Host at Cosmo via email and he has not replied. He's ignored one of my emails in the past and he's doing it again. In fact, he didn't even come see me during my entire stay. Sigh.

I went to my room to get my things and asked the host office to drive me to the airport. They did get me a ride in their Escalade without complaints. Here's one last photo from the balcony of my room.
    image5.jpeg

I took a photo of my bankroll and winnings for the trip below. What a sweet ride this trip has been.

    image7.jpeg

Up $19,400 for the entire trip.

I got to the airport at 8:00am. I needed to be early. Why? Well, if you remember from my first post of this report, I was kindly informed about how cash over $10k leaving the USA needs to be declared. I sought out the US Customs Cargo office and filled out the form. It was painless and I didn't even need to show him the cash or have it counted. He gave me a copy of the sheet and off I go to check in at Air Canada. Security was no problem and here I was at the gate ready to catch up on missed hours of sleep. When I arrived in Canada, I declared the cash again with no issues.

I'm finally home and can only live off the memories of how crazy this trip was for me and to think about when my next one will be! I hope you enjoyed this report. I will post some final thoughts of the trip soon. I'm happy to answer any questions or comments as I love having you with me on this ride. Viva Las Vegas.

Totally loved this TR. It was super stingy of your Cosmo host to begrudge you $150, but I'm glad that last little bit of play also worked out for you. Most casinos do look at theo loss though. Once, CET comped me on loss alone even when I didn't have a lot of theo. However, asking you to pay the last $150 was stupid of them, especially when that can cost them a customer.

In general, I have heard many stories that Cosmo treats table players way worse than slot players, even when they both have the same theo.

Thanks for the praises! Yeah I don't know if writing a nasty gram via email complaining will do anything. I am also wondering if asking for a different host at Cosmo will help in the future. I'm sure they talk to each other and switching hosts may make things worse. Not sure what to do here.

Yeah man, that limo is the best I've seen in Vegas so far. Total party mobile. Stocked with liquor and fix'ins.

Your $100 is most welcome! The D baccarat table is $25 minimum. But on the serious side, there are no skills in baccarat. Just money management and betting amounts to survive the roller coaster.

I've read some reports that are much higher roller than me for sure on this board before. I especially liked the ones from Broncofn and Rycelover. Table game players. Love it.

Pretty pathetic by the host to talk the way it happened. No secret with comps and winning it can get tricky sometimes, while when you lose 5 digits at least at mLife properties I never had issues getting everything for my stay comped but when you‘re up it is all dependant on theo - for 150$ losing a player like you is no doubt not the smartest move and certainly a very impolite speach you experienced.

Nice report and great wins! Love the limo at The D. Very silly of Cosmo to piss off a big player over $150. Thanks for all of the details, really enjoyed reading your report.

One of the many reasons I can't and haven't stayed loyal to Cosmo. There is a lot right with this hotel/casino, but also too much wrong. I am NOT a table player, but I was having losses around the $6k-$8k per trip (slots/vp) and wasn't getting comped off the last few hundred in food. I found out my host was using "my" comps on other players to try to lure them in. I haven't spoken much about it online, but it is totally unscrupulously and outrageously unfair. This host also had me treat her entire family to dinner by luring me in as if she was paying. Nope. Gave me the bill to sign at the end of dinner (told me not to worry about it) and I didn't want to make a scene and I figured I'd take it up with her later. Nope. She refused to comp over $400 worth of my other charges that were beyond the one dinner. Granted, I didn't pay the $1500 + bill, but I was on the hook for the tip!! I have spoken to a few others that have similar stories with her. I do still recommend Cosmo to some folks, but I also caution people to really pay attention to their hosts behavior.

At least you won!!! Take them for everything they've got!! Congrats on the big win.

    Final thoughts for the trip

    1. Staying downtown certainly has its merits. The Host at the D picked me up from the airport, met me at the door, got me keys and walked me to the elevator. She got me a fruit platter and a flat of bottled water in the fridge for me. She made sure I was having fun and arranged my ride back the night before and made sure my bill was cleared out prior. This is old school Vegas at it's best. Cosmo and Planet Hollywood could learn something here. I would stay again in the future.
    2. I saw the construction for Circa while staying in downtown. It looks like it will be awesome.
    3. While crossing the street to get to the El Cortez, there was this bum lady who was high on meth who started touching all of us and we kept pushing her away. Although sad to see this happening to anyone, it was still inappropriate and unwanted.
    4. Pizza Rock was the best pizza I've ever had. And I've been to Italy twice.
    5. I went from Sterling to Gold status card at Cosmo. Apparently Platinum status is ONLY given by host discretion for table players? Weird.
    6. Verbena's are still my go-to drink to get the Vegas experience. Nothing like it.
    7. There was this large group of Spanish speaking players at Cosmo that filled one entire baccarat table every night I was there. They had a blue tooth speaker with Spanish music pumping and they were just lighting up the party. $500-1000 per bet players on every spot and they looked like that were having a blast! Good to see people enjoying the tables rather than seeing the usual glum faces at other places lol.
    8. The best run I had at baccarat this trip was 9 players in a row. Not bad but I've had better.
    9. I felt so lucky to have ESPN Moment that first day when I was down $20k. That basically could've ruined my whole trip if I busted out that early for the week. I feel extremely lucky. That dream shoe I posted came when I needed it most.
    10. Mlife needs to up their game. Not happy with their offers or the way they treat their guests. Then again, Cosmo disappointed me as well at the end.
    11. Despite some of my rants above, I am very happy with the outcome of this trip. One of the better ones for sure!

Wow. This is just downright shady. I can't believe what I'm reading. Using your comps to pay for other players? That's something I would report straight out considering she didn't comp all of your charges.

Just wasn't worth it at that time. I was going through some other personal issues. I still have a relationship with the Cosmo, but not at the level I once was. It really shook me. I have eluded to this again and again on here at VMB and just suddenly decided to tell some of the details. I will NOT be outing this person online. They deserve it, but that's not my style, so the lot of you can stop DMing for the "inside" info. Not happening. I'm still upset nearly 3 years later, but I won't be the reason this person goes down...also just not worth it to me to engage in the drama honestly.

    Forewarned is forearmed.

Just one additional note: I am not trying to hijack OP's thread. He/she began telling their sordid tale and I thought I'd add some additional credibility by relating (on a whim) my sordid experience.

Nice Win! Cosmo pulling that shit reminds me of South Point telling me "you won last trip" after taking a beating this trip and asking for the room to be comped for the extra night I ended up staying.

That's the one thing I love about my host in Tunica, she's old school, and knows the casino is going to win in the end, so doesn't sweat wins or low play.

    Tee’s story is messed up.

OP’s experience I would describe as annoying, cheap and maybe not the best business move, but that’s about the extent of it. I get that comps “should” be based purely on theo, but I’ve also pleaded my way into some additional comps when I’ve been totally wiped out quickly and thus under played my theo, so on the flip side I can’t really fault a casino too much for taking a winning trip somewhat into account in choosing to really stick to their formula.

Great TR; thanks for sharing it! I love to see the other table game players’ reports!

Great report been reading all day as you released the next day. Not to get to detailed but my experience says the mood of the person your dealing with can have as much to do with your comp amounts as your play which I think is very unprofessional. Down the road when my house is paid for I dream of doing a trip just like this one. Might be more BJ and craps but who know. I did walk into the mansion at MGM very intoxicated looked at the BJ table at a min of $200 and saw the Bac table for $100 and gave it a try. Won all 3 hands. I was given a token after the first hand for a commission or something that I owed so I bet the opposite side on the 2nd and 3rd hands. After the 3 hands I tried to pay my commission and they let it slide.

Hell with that play I'm wondering if you're in the penthouse at the D. Did you at least have a suite there?
