    My Trip Report

Hard to believe this is was my 50th time visiting the wonderful city of Las Vegas. These 50 trips are spread out over the last 17 years or so.

So this was to be ( or so I thought ) a very typical trip to Las Vegas. We booked 4 nights at the Cosmo, with room credit and free play. Flying in and out of Montreal, nonstop on Air Canada. It looked like it would be a pretty routine trip.

Here is where the trip became not so typical. So my girlfriend had been on contract in Toronto so was going to meet me in Montreal for our flight to Vegas. ( I drive to the airport and she flies) For those that know the area, she was flying out the island in Toronto, the downtown domestic airport. Her flight is 45 minutes late leaving Toronto, and she has to really hustle to make her connection. When we land in Las Vegas we find out even though she made the connection, her bag did not. We are told it will be on the morning flight, the next day from Montreal, which would land about 10am next morning. By noon, the bag should be delivered to the hotel The fellow at the counter boasts how wonderful the return of lost luggage service is in Vegas and we shouldn't worry, he would put a rush on it,how they go above and beyond, and we should see it by noon next day.

Noon comes on Saturday, we still haven't seen a bag or heard from the baggage delivery service. We get an email early afternoon, saying bag will be delivered by 6:pm. Okay, this isn't ideal but we have waited nearly 24 hours now. 6pm comes and goes, no bag or news. Repeated phone calls and emails are sent to the luggage recovery company, assuring us we would have bag "soon".

Wake up Sunday morning no bag. Start phoning again. Find out the bag is in the office at the airport. It never did get on a truck on Saturday. We tell them keep the bag, we will pick it up. We finally recover the bag at 9am Sunday after being Vegas for more than 36 hours. Ironically, a great big RUSH sticker is on the bag...

To add insult to injury, we fly home Tuesday. Check her bag in, and when we go to pick it up at baggage claim, the bags comes out like this. Completely damaged.

The baggage handlers on the way home have destroyed the bag!

    Now to the positive:

Had the run of my life in blackjack on the Sunday night. Bought in for $2,500 and about 4 hours later cashed out at $27,500 Yes up 25K! This is when I got my first "pumpkin chip :)"

first time I ever got one of those!!

Was playing in the high-limit room at Cosmo. All the good rules apply. Start out at $200 per hand. After a few shoes, increase to $300 and finally settle in at $500 per hand, and go at a nice rate!

Monday afternoon we are playing some VP, having a drink at the Chandlier bar. I am teaching my partner how to play 5 hand SUPER X poker with multipliers. We are playing deuces wild, as she prefers this game. Boom, she hits 4 X deuces with 5X multiplier. A nice 5k hit :)

So financially a very successful trip! Weather, food, drinks and company were all excellent. Looking forward to my next LV weekend!

This low-roller, whose biggest chip so far is a $500, is very jealous!

Sorry about your girlfriend's luggage problems.....don't airlines realize if they are going to delay a bag, delay the male's bag?! The great gambling certainly eased that blow. Did AC re-imburse your girlfriend for purchases she had to make because her luggage was delayed?

Dang, that's a nice run at blackjack. I had a similar experience at Caesar's in 2015 when I was down to my last $3900 at baccarat and this beautiful run of B/P/B/P/B/P flip flop happened 26 times! I colored up for around $27,000 when the run stopped. I couldn't believe how lucky I got. Nice work on your win! I hope to be half as lucky on my trip that's coming up.

    Hi @breanna61

So A/C has opened up two claims for us,delayed luggage and destroyed luggage. I am not optimistic about them coming through with very much for us...

Thank you to all the kind well wishes on the wins.

I am curious to see if this is a big enough win to push my offers up? (increased f&b or Freeplay? )

Congrats on your first pumpkin chip and your girlfriend's awesome VP hit. Glad you had a lucrative trip despite the frustration with the luggage.
