Going out there 6/2-6/6, playing the big 50, $600 deep stack, $1k and $1.1k turbo bounties at rio/Venetian, respectively. All this assuming I’m not running deep in the Big 50 :). Might alter schedule depending on the Wynn/Bellagio schedules look like.

June 29-July 3 (probably) to play Mini Main, maybe Crazy Eights. Leaning toward HORSE at GN though. We will see what Wynn comes up with since I’m staying there.

I'm doing 6/2-6/5. Looks like I may do the same tourney's as you. Will be doing #3 (Big 50), #9 ($600 Deepstack) if I don't make it to Day 2 of the Big 50, and possibly #12 ($1000 bounty) if i don't make it to Day 2 of #3 or #9.

Flying in on the 31st of May and flying out on the 5th of June. My tournaments looks similar to yours.

Saturday: Fire 1 bullet to the Big 50 for $500. Hopefully make day two. If I make day 3 I will cancel my flight and stay longer.
Sunday: Fire a second bullet to the Big 50 for $500.
Monday: The WSOP Deepstack for $600.

I have a $2000 tournament budget and the above takes $1600. That leaves $400 to find something to do on Tuesday. Not sure what yet but looking at the Binions and the Golden Nugget 25k guarantee tournaments unless someone has a better suggestions.

I could do the Goliath 250k guarantee for $250 but day 2 is on wed so will have to stay until Friday if I make it. Not sure if the payout will be worth the cost unless I run very very deep.

    29-06 @ 10:00 - $888 Crazy Eights (Rio)
    01-07 @ 11:00 - $1000 Mini Main (Rio)
    02-07 @ 12:10 - $600 Monsterstack 1b (Ven)
    08-07 @ 11:00 - $1111 1drop (Rio)

That's my final schedule, after some chopping and changing.

Just registered for the first two comps at the Rio, and quite impressed with how easy it was.

Think it's definitely worth the juice in those smaller events.

Not sure I'd want to pay it if I was playing a $10k, though.

Just got the green light from the wife to play a WSOP event this summer, now need to figure out which one. Thinking the Milly Maker may work with my schedule again.

Originally we were going on a vacation for her 40th birthday a couple of weeks before, so didn't think I would make it this year. However, turns out she can't take a long vacation around that time, so instead we're going to NYC for Memorial Day Weekend, and I got us tickets to Hamilton, 3 including my daughter... all of which cost more than a week long trip would have.

The big 50 is such insane value if you can make it out there for the beginning! Same payout as the milly maker, 1/3rd the cost (3x the people at least, obviously).

I can't make that weekend anyway, but not sure I agree about the value: I played in the inaugural Colossus and the field is so massive, and the lower buy in makes the earlier payouts much smaller. It's fading ~6,000 people for a $1k-$1,500 min cash, vs. fading ~20,000 for a $250-$500 min cash (in profit, not sure if either one starts paying at 150% or 200% of buy in). Sure, the person who wins it gets a bigger ROI, but I'd prefer the "smaller" field (which is still gigantic). More to the point, for the Colossus, poker rooms all around town had 3 hour waits for cash games, I don't really want that again.

Not saying that the big 50 isn't good value: that's a very good structure for the price point, and happy that it's bringing more people in to the WSOP, I just don't think it's the right tourney for me.

There’s a real possibility it won’t be right for me either. I haven’t played the colossus, so hard to judge, but this structure seems a good deal better. As far as the cash games go, I might try to sneak into a PLO game, but my suspicion is the list will be too long and the games too deep for my comfort level anyway. As for NLH cash... id rather watch paint dry.

During last two WSOPs they have had 1/1 PLO in Flamingo. During those three weeks I was in Vegas, game started every evening (if it wasn´t running all day). I´m really hoping to see that game going again in June.

I never got down there last summer, but spending more time on the strip this year, so will probably come light some money on fire :)

It varies a lot. Sometimes there was a gambler or two who were total action junkies, sometimes table was full of headphone grinders who had heard that game was good last night.

In my experience total beginners do not usually choose to play omaha in Vegas (back home omaha is as popular as texas holdem). But sometimes there are players that don´t know even the rules and do not understand that you have to use exactly two hole cards. And during WSOP some tournament players like to blow out some steam and play micro stakes omaha really loose while having some adult beverages.

So... despite my post above, it turns out the timing with work got bumped, and all of a sudden I cannot make it out for the Millionaire Maker. So instead, heading out to play the big 50. Will be there 6/1-6 (and can extend if I somehow make the final table). Will also be taking a look at the other tourneys going on during that time.

If anyone playing day 1 on Sunday wants to get pre tournament coffee center strip or Rio we should organize something!

Depending on timing I may be up for a coffee at the Rio beforehand, but want to try to sleep in as much as I can since it will be a long day (of course, thanks to the time change I may still be up at 5am). Maybe a drink after day 1? Think that'll be ~10pm right?
