Hope you got a good room :) or one that was ok for you.

That would be my concern. Excessive noise from the neighbours or various other things.

Does the computer randomly distribute upgrades? ;)

Are these kiosks absolutely punctual in terms of 3 PM check-in time? When I walk to the registration desk early (between 11:00-15:00) at other MGM resorts, I was almost always checked-in with no mentioning of a fee. Will the kiosk do this as well if I try to check in at say 1 PM?

I think the issue here is that they don't push the savings to the customer. I have no problem using technology either, but what's in it for me? If the hotel next door is greeting me with a smile and potentially offering upgrades etc at the same hotel rate, then why would I pick Park MGM?

For my next trip, I picked it because it was comped. But if I were purchasing hotels via a 3rd party site on my dime, I wouldn't pick Park MGM.

My flight landed at 10:30 am and when I turned my phone in I had a notification on the app telling me my room was ready.

If you're purchasing via a 3rd party instead of direct through M Life, you're probably not dropping a 20 at check in. You probably don't even realize there's no check in desk.

But as for why? Convenience. I can pre check in from the app from the airport or on the plane, get a notification when my room is ready, walk right in and either a) not even do any check in at all and use the mobile key on my phone, or b) walk right to a kiosk and be done and up to my room in 5 minutes without waiting on line at all.

Anyone who's ever waited in line for 15-20 minutes at a Vegas hotel (or longer)... which, let's be honest, is almost everyone as those who have the status to skip the line may be more common on these boards but are rare in reality... will be much happier being able to get their vacation started immediately rather than waiting around in line.

Hmm so with the app it should be painless? I’m arriving Tuesday night.

The only easier hotel check in experience I've had is when someone else is checking in for me.

    It was crazy simple.

Checked in about 15 minutes ago, did not go well. I had pre-checked in via email and received a QR code. The QR code scanned after several attempts and the next step was to scan ID. After several attempts the ID would not scan and then I noticed three other groups stuck on the same screen. 10 minutes after passing the help button an employee appeared to tell us the scanners have not been working consistently and checked our IDs manually. The employee handled it well but people were annoyed. Two people had the same comment to the employee: This wouldn't happen if we could talk to a live person. This process may get more consistent but it felt like I was self-checking out at a grocery store.

The room is pretty uninspiring, I'm on a MyVegas room but probably would not pay rack rate. However, it works fine for a place to sleep tonight and then move on to a different hotel.

I'm in Vegas so in the big scheme this is minor.

I downloaded the mgm app a week ago. I’m arriving tomorrow evening. Why is the app notifying me to check In?

A confirmation I’m still coming? Seems weird. It should notify me tomorrow?

For anyone that used the mgm app to checkin. I arrive later tonight.

Can I checkin before my flight leaves? Then when I land I should have a notification that my room is ready?

    Thanks

Thanks! Because technically rooms are guaranteed? After 3 pm?

It should assign me a room before I fly? I depart at 6pm PST.

You’ll probably be assigned a room well before 3pm assuming the property isn’t sold out. If there’s a particular room you want (view, high floor, etc) you can even try calling the front desk now and seeing if they can manually assign you one. Worth a try if you have something in mind.

For those who have booked and stayed at Park MGM under this system, did you have any opportunity to purchase an upgrade, either via email before the trip, or at the kiosk? Aria usually tempts me with an upgrade (for a fee of course, I usually take it cuz I'm weak) and CET will sometimes offer a modestly priced one if asked. I have booked Park MGM for almost-free for the proximity to Aria, but I'd be happier if I could purchase an upgrade. Well, fingers crossed I guess!

I didn't get an offer, which I was surprised by as it's happened every other trip.

Hmm I haven’t left but checked in via the app.

    Entered my confirmation code.

Message says “please check in at the front desk” your reservation requires additional care.

Wait. When I view my reservation on a different screen it says I’m checked in lol and they will send me a notification when the room is ready.

    What do I do :)
