I love to travel and have had a passport since I was 6.

I mentioned specific places where I travel in the US and don't drink the water. You are free to list places YOU prefer not to drink tap water in the US. Those places do not have to overlap as we might have different priorities, tastes, and travel plans.

When I travel overseas, I'm often in developing countries and I ALWAYS buy water. I do not tend to buy water in Europe. But I might if I'm out and run out of water in my own bottle that I always travel with. I drink about a gallon of water a day and it's hard to carry that much on me when I'm out working or touring.....

At home, we have a water purifier for the whole house and RO for drinking water. Our well tests ok but we're on an old tobacco farm and next door to active farms and I don't know the long term effects of whatever chemicals they might be using....

I love MWD- and CAP-served Californians and Arizonans who won't drink the water in Vegas. Wow, something AMAZING must happen just downriver from Hoover!!

I've had them in the past and just got another one this past September. I love it. That does remind me, I may need to replace some of the filters soon, especially the sediment filters (stage 1 thru 3?). Off topic, sorry.

The local groundwater was so hard in the last place we had a salt system. Then of course we had to RO that crap out of the drinking water. Ahh, Americans. lol

I always do Vegas on the cheap (just cheap, not frugal).
With over 100 trips, never paid room, food, drink, show, anything.
My cheap way is to gamble, and gamble a hell lot, and everything else comes free.

Let's put it this way: It costs a lot of money to be cheap.

I don't drink more than a cup or 2 per day, but I also bring my B&D Brew and Go with a can of coffee, coffee mate and sweetener. For the hotels I stay at it saves me at least $5 per cup and I get to have my coffee the way I like it whenever I want it.

I always stay at a nice hotel on the strip and I buy a couple of water bottles from the ABC stores (usually $1 each). Then I refill them from the water cooler in the fitness center each day. I believe that water is filtered because it tastes great.

    My new second-favorite Vegas saying.

My first(which I like to tell my non-gambling friends): "There's a lot of free things in Vegas. And you can't afford any of them."

We gamble A LOT but I would not consider our budget huge by anyone's standards ($250/day per person--we find this nearly always lets us play poker tourneys & video poker--plus sports bets for DH--pretty much as much as we want. Moderate wins can be tossed back into our bankroll while large wins (over $500) get put away. We nearly always come home with a good chunk of our bankroll having chosen games we learn to play well).

We use our cards everywhere, stay at CET (2 resorts near home) but in Vegas will gamble all over. We get free rooms, typically. THAT IS IT. (Ok, free drinks while gambling, but everyone gets that...) Shows & food? Not so much.

We do NOT gamble to GET comps. We gamble for fun, any comps are a side benefit.

For things I want, I am not frugal at all. For things I need, I am cheap.

Example: When leaving town, I always walk from my hotel (as far away as Imperial Palace on numerous occasions) to Hooters and take a cab from there to the airport.
