    My Trip Report

It was a wild ride and here is just a summary.

My wife has given up on JOB and has become a quarter DDB player and she went on a four aces run, Over our 4 days of gambling, all DDB VP for her, she had four Aces with the kicker, four times. She had four aces, no kicker, six times. She came home $1,300 ahead!

Mine was different. I had huge swings in my bankroll playing either $1 DDB or 10 play DDB. Friday afternoon, our arrival day, our room wasn't ready until after 3 PM. So we checked our luggage and went to the Cal sportsbook bar to gamble for what turned out to be 3 hours. In that time playing just single line DDB, I dumped $800.

After we got the room and unpacked, we headed to home, the Boar's Head Bar. My luck changed and I hit this:

    Aces 10 play.jpg

If you play multi line games, I think we all fantasize about a dealt hand. It wasn't a Royal and it didn't have the kicker, but it was nice. There are two kickers in the 10 hands.
I ended that night with 23 scratch cards.

    23 scratch cards.jpg
    One $3, all others $2.

As mentioned, I had huge swings and came home $600 ahead. In total I had 59 scratch cards, not counting my wife's. Where did the money go?

B Conned details: Tier Credits plus 2,538. Points 167,568. I know at $2 in equals 1 point on VP, DDB, I didn't put in $335,136. So the secret multiplier of amount of time on the same machine comes into play. It was our normal trip, so we probably put anywhere from $45-$60,000 coin in, but you can no longer see exact numbers.

As I mentioned previously, if you pull out your card for a scratcher, the mystery timer resets to zero. Here is what happened to me twice. Both times I was on the machine for at least 4 hours. I got a 4oak and it took longer then 10 minutes to get the scratch card. The card dropped out! You are stuck. Either forfeit the scratch card, most likely $2, but could be $5,000, or forfeit the mystery point multiplier.

The third time this happened, I was on a hot streak and been on the same machine for about 6 hours. I hit a 4oak that put me over $1,200, so the machine automatically spits out a ticket for the amount of the last hit that put you over. The machine spits out the ticket and then the "out of paper, call attendant" screen comes up. So now I have to pull out my card so they can open the machine. We always have two cards. I have no idea in what this cost me in the mystery multiplier.

Bits and pieces...I booked EB on SWA late for our departure. I was going to do the 24 hr check in, but said screw it and paid the $50. Coming home is always purchased so not to worry about it on vacation.

So leaving, we ended up with A59 & A60, but, we still ended up in the exit row. I think I like up front better. Coming home we had A23 & A24. We sat in row 4, middle and window. As almost always, completely full , non-stop, flight both ways. On neither flight did they collect our drink tickets. Another win!

Food: We ate at 777 a couple of times, Redwood once and to tell the truth, even though we have the Gold Card, we decided to try different. One day it was lunch outside at
Hennessey's and drinks at Bangor Brewing, outside on their patio. We did see a 370 lb guy get on the Heart Attack Grill outside scale and head inside. Monday lunch outside at Triple George. They only serve lunch M-F. Both were good and sitting outside people watching is always nice. Beautiful weather. A little overcast and temp around 80.

The comped suite at Cal comes with free internet. I checked speed a couple of times and it averaged 1mbps down and .96 up. Just fine for our needs, but if I had to pay a resort fee for that speed, I'd be pissed. Or, maybe you get the faster option with RF?

There was construction going on at Circa even on Sunday, but I don't see much progress so far.

    Circa construction.jpg

Crappy angle from Cal, 15th floor of the West Tower. We were in the usual suite just past the ice machine and did not hear any construction noise. This photo is from the elevator area. Past the ice machine means more then half way down the hall to the North.

I suck at VMB searches so @bubbakitty or @Turtleman or whomever was asking about rideshare pickups at Cal. They now have painted signs on the sidewalk in the valet area under the dome. That is where you get taxis and rideshare.

Back in 24 days to try and keep the streak going. My wife is moaning a tiny bit about not hitting a Royal since 2018. Poor thing, that's when she hit her 36th and 37th!

Wow, now I know where all the quad Aces were last weekend! Very nice! Congrats on the wins. If my memory serves me correctly, much better than the last trip or two.

Congrats on the dealt Aces! Better to get it on 10 line quarters than single line dollars!

Also congrats to your wife's good run. Those are the times you definitely rather be playing DDB!

Sucks your card timed out waiting for a scratchoff a few times. But im pretty sure you would just lose the fraction of the last tier point in that case. It wasn't like your entire session was recorded as a zero.

It's not the fraction of a point being lost that's the problem. It's that after you've been playing on the machine for a while the rate that you accumulate tier points goes up quite a bit. So, by canceling the session his award rate goes back down to 2:1. He has to start his time all over again and after much play it eventually goes to a higher rate. During that play all those tier points are lost.

Great run Joe! If my math is right, rarely is, our trips may overlap. Mrs. LV and I would love to meet you and Mrs. Joe.

Ah yes, good point. This was another thing CET abandoned years ago. They had a similar system that would give you bonus points for much longer periods of play.

And we are grinders. We've been known to sit on the same two machines for 8 hours playing on one card.

Man that really sucks about the card in-and-out/multiplier mess.
It seems like you have it figured out.
It shouldn't have to be that way.

If I remember, I'll be wearing my VMB wristband. If not, just look for the 66 year old guy.

It's not the tier points that is involved, but rather the B Conned points that get multiplied by the mystery length of time on machine.

Yeah. Were you and your wife playing nearly exclusively 9/5 DDB? If that would be the case, then your coin-in would roughly be $59,577 and 29,788 BConned points before any multipliers. Given the 167,538 points you actually earned, that would be an average multiplier of 5.62! You're earning BConned points almost as fast as you were under the old Emerald system (3 points per dollar coin-in).

My wife was strictly quarter 9/5 DDB. For me, there was $1 DDB 9/5, quarter 10 play 9/5 DDB and some, not much, 8/5 ten play STP. All on one card.

A little 8/5 DDB with STP will lower the coin-in a bit. If it was 5% of your coin-in overall, then your total coin-in would knock your coin-in down to $58,466.
