Fremont Hotel room #1131 walk through

There really isn't much variety in the rooms at the Fremont.
I have noticed that most of the hotels downtown, even if it is a non smoking floor, you can still smell marijuana which is just as bad if not worse than cigarrette smoke.
Maybe they don't enforce the fines for smoking in a non smoking room.

Fine if you're solo. I wouldn't take my other half there; however, I feel that way about a lot of the hotels I stay at.

 

I don't understand why they have a mix on smoking and non smoking rooms on the same floor. Doesn't make sense to me, but then I've never been a hotel manager either.

It was on the small side. For just me it was okay.

Same here. My wife doesn't enjoy the older places. If she goes, it's Aria, Cosmo or something newer. Maybe Circa can be her first downtown experience.

 

The challenge will come when Fremont decides to renovate those rooms. There's only so much they can do with that little space.

 

I've stayed in a mini-suite a couple of times at Fremont. It's pretty good, with a sitting area and decent sized bathroom. No complaints. And the location really makes it nice.

 

I stayed there 5-6 years ago and don’t remember it being that small, but you’re right it IS small. I did drink a lot more back then so maybe that’s why my memory is foggy about that!

 

That bathroom is depressing.

 

Haha...I was worried about that having never stayed there before, but it was actually better in person than in pictures. I was expecting something not working and maybe not clean but it was okay.

Agreed. If you are a single then it might be okay but with 2 people it would be claustrophobic. And for sure the wife wouldn't appreciate it to stay in one of those rooms..

 

yeah...too low end for vacay.

 

Lots of folks don’t put much emphasis on room size. Myself included.
I’m either in the bed or shower. I don’t spend any other time in my room.
I just need a CLEAN room with a comfortable bed.

Now that stain on the ottoman was nasty.

 

I cannot for the life of me understand why hotels like the Fremont have not already renovated. They are squandering things by offering such a sub par room product. Yes, the space is small, but a smart renovation could make it work. For one thing, a bathroom that small does not need to have a shower-tub combo. A standing shower can work wonders and free up space.

 

Boyd just finished making major changes/renovations to the Cal rooms and casino. And now I hear that they want to put up another tower at the Fremont. Not sure, maybe they will work on Fremont renovations after the new tower is built? Or maybe they might look into imploding the old tower after the new one is built? Only the big wigs can tell us what their plans are, but they aren't telling.

The Fremont hotel is old so not sure if they want to do renovations or just implode and redo the tower. Boyd may want to keep up with Derek (new Circa, D and GG hotels) and I don't think the old hotel will do the trick. JMHO.

But you also have to remember, Boyd imploded the 'dust and then the market tanked so maybe they are keeping tight vested on their ultimate plans (or maybe they aren't sure what they want to do).

 

to me, it makes since to build the new tower first and then begin the remodel of the old tower.
since the rooms are so small, they could put two of them together to make suites. even then, they would be small suites. not the entire tower, but at least part of it. and they certainly need to add a pool.
