Harrah's tries to be all things to everyone...so they cater to all ages groups and do none of it well. I think I mentioned that I was in there on 4/11/19. The music playing was 'She wore bluuue velvet'. That's music my grandmother would enjoy...I'm retired, my grandmother would be about 120 yo now. Retirees today grew up listening to Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones and The Who. You want to play music for the older set, that's the music to play.

Haha I had to say something, I just get tired of the same people myopically bashing something that in all likelihood, they've never experienced before. I have friends who also laugh and bash it when I go to AC, but I tell them the same thing, don't knock it (or anything for that matter) until you try it. For my bachelor party, which was in AC, all the people I brought who hadn't gone prior ended up having a blast. My wife is from NJ originally so perhaps I'm a bit biased but some of the most authentic and down to earth people I've ever met are from there. Plus, I've never had a better hoagie than White House Subs, their cheesesteak is at least 2-3 meals lol.

As long as I'm able, I'll keep going back to support the good people in that town. Hopefully I get to meet a few VMBers there one day!

Wait until they trot Bobby Vinton out the next time you're there.

@lithium78 maybe you misunderstood me, but that's exactly what I was saying. The reference was to those that said Harrah's was losing people to Hard Rock and I was suggesting there is likely no way to get those people back because Hard Rock has all the entertainment and in the summer they have the beach.

At Eden Bar, there's usually some sort of band playing there every weekend. In fact, good luck finding a video poker machine any time after 9pm at that bar lol. But, overall, we're very much agreed. I do think Harrah's has WAYY better dinning options

You gotta check out Eden Lounge on May 10, the band “Don’t Call Me Francis” is playing. A South Jersey based cover band that also plays at Golden Nugget’s Deck bar.

I wasn’t sure where to put this, but I recently went to Bar Olón at Tropicana for Happy Hour. They had $3 draft beers, $5 wines and my beloved Buck a Shuck oysters. Hours are 4-7 pm daily.

Good luck finding a value like that in Vegas. I can't wait to go soon. I'm going every month during the summer. June, July, August, and Sept

So the misusing of 13.8 billion is a moot point. Only because we don't know what was agreed upon in the terms of allowing these casinos to be there and how much is designated to cover the jobs created via gaming commissions and enforcement. In other words, it could be costing 3MM a year to cover the admin of having gaming + they may have committed X% to fund state projects like schools and roads.

I am all for holding politicians to a higher standard...problem is: we don't have complete information.

Yeah, this is dumb! Bally's was perfect for a book even before they knew it was going to happen. Their demographic is ripe for it. They need to step their game up.

That figure averages out to be $345 million per year. That’s a lot of cabbage. There are currently less than 40,000 residents and 9 casinos.

I guess they wanted to test things out with their temporary books. They are also building a new book in Harrah’s.

Time will tell, but I think CET is making a big mistake by not putting a book inside Caesars.

@spdandpwr the wait for the book was probably to avoid it being down or a cluster during football weekends, Super Bowl and March Madness. If you need 8 weeks to get it back up, these are the 8 weeks, since you should be back up and running for NBA and NHL finals.

I don't think anyone is saying the money was misused just that a reinvestment into the area even around the casinos could have been incredibly beneficial. At a time when the only gambling destinations were LV and AC, LV used reinvestment and added opportunity to continue significant growth and make it enough of a destination that now people go even though almost everyone has access to casinos. NJ did the opposite and banked the tax revenue and now AC is suffering.
