I have a comp offer for any Mlife property. Usually we stay at cosmo but wanted something different before we check in at Wynn so I booked Mandalay Bay to enjoy the pool.. I have the same offer for delano and I'd still get to use the MB pool.. What would you do? I considered mgm because of the pool too but I meh.. Considered Aria too just because it's aria but like I said, I wanted to experience mb when we're only staying two nights before moving to Wynn.. Mb, delano, or other and why!

Based on what you're saying, stick with MB. If you stay at the Delano tower, its more of a walk to the MB pool complex

If you are going to be using the pool often, stick with Mandalay. The pool area is only a few steps off the elevator

We've prefer Delano. The elevators are never slammed like they are at Mandalay. Also you can use any pool including the Delano private pool.

MB has lovely rooms, definitely worth a stay, but unless proximity to MB pool is critical I'd go with Delano. Standard accommodations are suites, amenities are generally nicer (incl. free champagne at Skyfall), and you get to choose from both pools anyway.

I'd do Delano. Their rooms are nicer and you'd get access to the Delano private pool (called the Delano Beach Club) which is located within the MB pool complex.

We've done both and I'd definitely go Delano.

Def. Delano. Rooms are nicer, but Mandalay's standard room is still nice and fairly big. The suite is usually fairly quiet as you can close the bedroom door and you don't hear anything in the hallway.

If you're the type to go to pool and back to your room often, Mandalay Bay may be a better option for you, otherwise its maybe a 5 minute walk from Delano to the entrance of the pool if you're walking at a decent pace.

I'm with Delano. I agree with others, that if quick access to the pool is important, Mandalay rooms are fine. Check in, and just the general vibe staying at Delano is better.

Mandalay has great standard rooms, however Delano is a class above it. Yes the pool is further from Delano but hey, you’re in Vegas and I’m sure you’re mentally and physically prepared to do some walking.

If rooms are similar in price it makes little sense to take the lesser room.

I have stayed multiple times at MB and love it. Booked Delano twice on a comp, cancelled twice.

    1) the rooms look too white/stark for my taste, but this is only me.
    2) The Bellagio spa tower drives me nuts due to how far it is. I don't mind walking, but I find I bring more money down to gamble (and spend more) becausd I don't want a long trek to the room to replenish.
    3) I don't care about two rooms, I prefer one big room. If you like two rooms, Delano might be better.

So, both are great, I just like the colors and promixity of MB a little more.

One note, if you are comped at Delano you can probably easily get a better room at MB. DO NOT let them put you in the Bay King. Either do a basic room or the Elite room (never stayed in executive, so can't comment). The bay king has a really weird window layout that is dark (the dark part of the curtains is dark because it has a wall behind it, so just a sliver of window.) Also, it's connector right off the elevators.... Loud.

I love MB, the pool is amazing, great variety of very nice rooms at multiple price points, I'd just strongly suggest avoid the bay king. It's the only room there that I really don't like.

Bay King: Dark, and a connector, loud. (The "dark" spot behind the curtain is a big wall.)

Elite King: Bright, big with almost a whole wall of windows. (FYI Oyster.com has their pics wrong, they always confuse elite/executive and bay rooms)

The standard rooms at MB are quite nice, one of the better standard rooms on the strip, but if it's not going to cost you any more I'd go Delano. It's a bigger room with a true one-bedroom layout and the bathrooms are very posh. I like the quiet, relaxed vibe of the Delano common areas, there's never a line for check in and it's literally only a minute walk from the elevators to the MB casino. The Franklin and Skyfall are among my fave cocktail spots in town, too.

Ah options.. Are there any upgrade options available at Delano? I appears the entire room plus resort fees are comped at any mgm property for me.

Delano has fewer rooms (1118) than Mandalay (3209) so upgrades at Delano may be more of a challenge. But it never hurts to ask. Good luck!

So I gave vip service a called and was able to cancel MB and get a Scenic Suite at Delano fully comped and still received the free play and resort credit. Did I do the right thing? I'm thinking I did but never stayed at either.

Also from my understanding Delano has a separate pool inside MBs pool area just for delano guests? Does anyone have pictures of what it looks like Sorry. I'm excited about this!

Great decision! Delano is our home base and having the second bathroom is great. The extra walk is not much at all. Delano has a pretty peaceful vibe and everything Mandalay is totally convenient. The Delano pool is smaller and much quieter than any of the Mandalay pools so if that's your vibe it's perfect. I find it more relaxing and the music isn't quite as loud. Mandalay pools have a tendency to have alot of kids because of all of the fun amenities so if you're feeling like a relatively kid-free space Delano pool is the way to go. We split our time between them both.

I like to hear that! About how long is the walk to the pool area and casino? Are there decent food places at Delano that aren't too expensive like a food court?

Maybe 7 to 10 minute walk from the room to the entrance of the pool complex. From room to casino? 2 to 3 minutes?

Not sure what you consider expensive, there is a food court near the convention area/aquarium. Mandalay Bay has like 20 or 30 restaurants on site, plus Luxor and Excalibur is close by if you're looking for cheap eats.

As for Delano Beach Club, here's a pic from Google Maps. It's not the biggest area and can get packed early to mid-afternoon. It's located right at the entrance. Just show your key card and walk in.

Honestly restaurant-wise you can consider the Mandalay restaurants of which there are many of all types and prices completely convenient to Delano. And there is also a small mall linking Mandalay to Luxor that has several casual restaurants as well- I would recommend Hubert Keller’s Burger Bar in the mall area.
The pool area is a bit of a walk but again it just isn’t that major a thing IMO.
I’ll be looking forward to your opinion of Delano once you stay there! Enjoy!
