Halloween is usually good for people watching and parties. But looks like you're leaving

It's gonna be a fun trip for you! A LOT has changed since your last visit. Not sure where you're staying? But if I were you I would do this:

Day one: Venture out on the Strip. Go left and explore!
Day two: Venture out on the Strip. Go right and explore!
Day three and four: Cross the street. Do the same as day one and two.....

I think it will be fun to observe all the new things that you will see vs. how it was 10 years ago.

Bring lots of water, good walking shoes, and some money to play in the casinos!

    Have fun!!!

Thanks for the reply! I'll be staying at the Four Queens--I have history there and have always loved the downtown atmosphere. I have always wanted to visit the Pinball Hall of Fame and plan on doing that this trip. Bellagio Fountains are a MUST do as well. Gambling, good food, dive bars....I'm kinda into it all. Oh, and my birthday is October 28th--I've never celebrated a b'day in Vegas.....

I went back after a 5 year absence and it was soooo different. You’ll love it, especially downtown. And I’d spend every birthday in Vegas if I could, so much fun...

You'll also love the changes Downtown! Lots of bars opened up on the East side....Not sure if the Zipline was already there since you last visited.

Pay tribute to Las Vegas Club alas, it is no longer there.....

The California Hotel has recently been renovated, you'll notice Pasta Pirate and the Cal Club are no longer there. The Cal Noodle House is where Pasta Pirate was. And what replaced the Cal Club? More penny slots, lol!

Have fun! Downtown and the Cal is where I stay and play!!

The Vue Bar was one of my favorites but sadly I read it's no longer there. I do like the allure of the Strip to get my fix of that particular atmosphere but Downtown is where my heart lies....or used to anyway. 10 years is a long time. La Bayou was my 1st stop for a yard long slushie and sadly that's no loner there either. I'm excited yet nostalgic...

Vue Bar is still there, but you can't sit outside anymore. There's an escalator from Fremont to it, and inside the bar is still operating (still great spot for VP). I used to love to sit out there and watch the folks and the light show below.

Lots of changes downtown in the last 10 years. Slotzilla, Fremont East, Container Park, etc.

I'm sure you will have a great trip!

I think you'll love the DT with the updated districts, bars, restaurants, myriad of things to do.
Most of the changes I saw were all for the better
