I was having a conversation with a well travelled friend the other day and just comparing the countries we had visited. He was at 60 countries at the age of 43 and well ahead of me.

Do you US residents travel afar or mainly stick to the states?

    My list is;

    England
    Scotland
    Wales
    Ireland
    France
    Spain
    Germany
    Holland (Netherlands)
    Luxembourg
    Belgium
    Greece
    USA
    Yugoslavia (Croatia)
    Cuba
    Morocco
    Portugal
    Brazil

Not sure if these are classed differently

    Gibraltar
    Puerto Rico
    Bahamas
    US Virgin Islands

Damn I need to update my country list! I love to travel, as much overseas as possible and rarely the same place twice. At least not often...

    That's quite a nice list, @kevin853!

A really short list for me:

Canada (Just a few miles in.)
Cruise stops in Grand Cayman, Jamaica, and Bahamas.
Big trip to London last Easter.

A lot easier for us to travel to be fair with maybe 20 countries within 3 hours.

I've been to 47 of the 50 states in the US. The only ones I haven't had the chance to visit are Hawaii, Alaska, and Maine. When I was a kid, my parents use to take us all over the country during our annual summer vacation, not to mention the places that I've visited as an adult. Before I retired, I also traveled a lot for work to attend conferences, seminars, and whatnot all over the US.

I haven't done a lot of international traveling, but I've visited Jamaica a number of times, as well as Canada, and Mexico. I have a few countries (e.g. UK, Australia, Thailand, Japan) on my bucket list that I would like to visit, but I hate having to take those looooooooooong flights.

Very little! I've been to most all of the states, including Hawaii and Alaska, but only been to Tijuana in Mexico and Niagara Falls and the St. Lawrence Seaway portions of Canada.

P.S. I should add I'm pretty OK with that. I'm not really that much of a vacation traveler, after doing so much for work the past several years. I have no interest in seeing Europe or Asia or Africa. Australia's too damn far. If there was one place I'd like to see, I suppose it'd be Costa Rica...lot of my friends like it there.

    Not remotely enough.

46 states, four countries: Canada -- seven provinces -- Mexico, Australia, New Zealand.

    Wasn't going to brag but...

    Nasa_blue_marble.jpg

That's how much of the world I've seen.

Seriously though, about seven states, Mexico, & Costa Rica. I honestly don't have the biggest desire to travel the world like many of my peers.

Spent two years in the Army. Pershing(nuclear) missile unit in Germany with the wife.. Saved all my leave and spent a week in each of the following countries.
    Germany(of course)
    France
    Spain
    Portugal
    Italy
    Morocco
    Switzerland
    Austria
    Holland/Amsterdam
Wasn't allowed to East European counties because of my security clearance.
Unbelievable experience. This was in the early 70's. 25 cent gas stamps. Unbelievable German food. Wife and I lived in a German apartment off base.
Probably best 2 years of my life.

    After that the usual:
    Hawaii
    Mexico
    Bahamas
    Aruba
    Canada

I did most of my traveling young. Glad I did it when the planes were big, the service great and going through customs was a breeze. Still not extensive.
Maybe 40 states....spent 6 hrs in the Anchorage airport with plane trouble on the way to Hong Kong. Once we reboarded they asked all the passengers to sit in the back rows for take off only. Wasn’t a full flight and that made us all scared to death. All was well in the end.

    England
    Mexico
    Bahamas x20 at least
    Hong Kong
    Thailand
    Japan

Really had to think about it....can’t believe I’ve never been to Canada.

My father worked for the government, so rather than visiting I lived in Italy(Rome) 10 years, France(Paris) 5 years, Austria(Vienna) 2 years, USSR(at the time- Moscow) 1 year, Greece(Athens) 1 year, Germany(Berlin) 2 years. And we visited most of central Europe at that time. I no longer have any desire to travel internationally.
