Give the room quality/decor/vibe an overall rating from 1 to 10.

Oh yeah, and take all the money!

I'd say the room is a 7. A huge step up from Monte Carlo. The bed's pretty comfy, shower had a nice strong flow, big TV, nice couch by the window. Sure, it's not Aria or Wynn, but you know that coming in. I'm overlooking TMobile and only on the 9th floor. Heard a little noise when I turned in (around midnight) but only because some girl kept screaming at her friends. Once she stopped it was quiet. Sure, you can hear when the door across the hall opens, but that's fairly common. I either have quiet neighbors or the non adjoining rooms are quieter than the ones that have adjoining doors. If you go to bed early, like before a concert or game let's out, I'm sure it would be really loud on this side... alas, it's Vegas! Stay up!

Hallways are definitely on the dark side, but not like omg someone could be hiding in a corner and I'll never see them dark.

The self check in was also incredibly easy. Like I can't overstate how easy it was. I don't know what people are talking about who say it's difficult. If you can operate a smart phone without asking for help, you shouldn't have an issue checking yourself in and getting your room keys.

Didn't spend a ton of time in the casino. Played a little VP to start and a quick 20 minutes at a blackjack table to kill time. CW service was pretty good. It was bumping last night when I came back to the room, but there was a Timberlake concert.

Waldorf was quite nice. Just stuck with beer since i had already been drinking since the plane... but friends enjoyed their drinks. Great views and not crazy crowded.

Spent 2 hours or so there - then it was back to the blackjack tables at PH. Don't mess with something that's working! Split my bankroll into 3 equal packs before the trip - one for friday, two for Saturday... ended up tripling Fridays bankroll! The bad part about that is that I played at the same table in the afternoon and at night, so I didn't venture out like I wanted to. The good part is, of course, I TRIPLED FRIDAY'S BANKROLL.

No better feeling than Vegas when you're up man.

I skipped dinner altogether last night. Wasn't really the plan but just worked out that way. Friends left to grab some food after drinks but I just wanted to get back to the tables ha.

Ended up leaving PH at midnight. Had planned on staying up later but that was the 24 hour mark of being awake, and I hit the bottle pretty hard all day, so it caught up to me. Came back and crashed.

Some people just complain about everything. There is nothing difficult about it. Just read and follow the instructions. Same as using a kiosk to check in for your flight at an airport.

100% agreed - if you're on the Maryland/DC side of the river, getting to BWI is significantly easier than getting to Dulles. The only times I've willingly flown out of Dulles was during the six months I lived in Falls Church.

If you're at BWI early enough, Obrycki's in B Concourse has a pretty good breakfast.

    lol true story

Guess I need to do Saturday, huh?

Started the day around 7 am... wandered out looking for breakfast. Ended up at the Oceans place in the PH miracle mile. Not great but not terrible. And cheap.

Figured while I was there I might as well stop at the blackjack table that did me so well the night before. They actually had $10 3:2 tables in the early morning hours. Sat at a $15 though because someone at the $10 was smoking Ike a chimney and I didn't need that crap at 7:30 on the morning

Played for about a few hours and left even. Headed back to Park MGM to shower up and get ready for the day. Met up with friends up at the Neon Museum. Interesting place but probably something you should do when it's, ya know, dark outside.

Grabbed lunch at Good Pie on the way back to the strip. Pretty good I must say. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.

Everyone went their own way after lunch with plans to meet back up around 6 to head to Mandalay Bay for dinner at Border Grill.

Stopped in to the book at Park to place a few bets on the 3 pm college games, including one that would end up breaking my heart 2 hours later.

Still had my $50 NYNY Piano Bat reward to cash in, so popped over there to watch the games.. A few old fashioned's later and we were ready to roll. Won 4 of my 5 bets so was happy with that... but the one I missed. Ugh.

Tossed $20 bucks on an 8 team parlay... the 4 games I bet straight up (UNC, Kansas State, Yale and Montana) and a few other teams...

Seven of the 8 games on the parlay hit...

    UNC -4.5
    Kansas State -7.5
    Yale -pickem
    Columbia +3.5
    Montana +5
    Arkansas -4.5
    Penn -6

The 4th was Davidson at -4.5. Cover and that $20 dollar bet pays out $1620.

Davidson's best player went to the line with 4 seconds left, up 3. He hits the first free throw to push the lead to 4. 85% free throw shooter... W0 of 10 from the line thus far... A10 player of the year...

    Misses the second.

Lost the parlay by half a fucking point.

If I didn't have a very good trip otherwise, this would haunt me forever lol

Left NYNY and started walking in the direction of Mandalay Bay. Found a lonely 3:2 $15 table at Excalibur so sat down for a while, all by myself as the $10 6:5 tables were jammed up around me. Baffling. I'm not a 6:5 snob... if it's all that's available at a place where your friends want to chill, or if you just don't want to jump to greens or above, hey... do you. But when it's right there at a similar low stake and it's empty? Boggles the mind.

Took the castle for another $200 bucks and started back on my way. Eventually made my way down to Mandalay Bay. My first time back in Vegas since the shootings. Was striking at how empty the casino was for a Saturday night... still, 2 years on. Place just needs to rebrand and be done with it.

Border Grill was pretty good. Had the skirt steak and some guac. No complaints from the group.

Ended up back at PH after dinner. Was starting to do well again so upped my bets to $25 a hand. Of course that's when the tides turned a bit. Lost a couple hundred so decided to mix it up and head over to Cromwell. Played there for a few hours, staying around even. The tides started to turn around 2 am so I decided to call it a night and not blow all my winnings with just a few hours to spare. Wandered the strip for a while, returning back to Park around 4. Showered and packed. Made one more stop to the casino and played for about an hour and a half and ended up a hundred. Cashed out and headed back upstairs to grab my things, check out and head to the airport.

Ended up about 3x my bankroll, which is a great trip any way you slice it up. Also makes the next trip an easier sell to the wife, which is a bonus. Will also probably get a few better offers now that I broke my 2 year dry spell (although a quick look at my W/L statement at Caesers and they totally undersold how much I gambled by a HUGE margin at PH, so maybe not)

Had a great time and can't wait for the next time.

Glad you had a good trip! Looked like a near perfect trip other than the parlay!

Sounds like it was a nice little trip! I had a good win on my last trip; definitely helps with the "honey, can I go to Vegas?" chat with the spouse, doesn't it?

It's almost like the guys who set those lines know what they are doing ;)

I think the answer is more about the table minimum than the the 3:2 v 6:5 payouts. Most Vegas visitors are not high rollers so a $10 min is more appealing than $15, even if they understood the payout differences (which I am not convinced most do).

My spouse just tells me "honey, why don't you take a trip to Vegas?" No need to tell me twice. My solo trip for 7 nights is coming up in April. She's the best!! People on this board who have met her know that I am not kidding about her either. She just tells me that I need a break, and should get away to Vegas!!:nworthy:

Great picture of the US Capitol in the wee hours o the morning. I lived in DC for 3 years and enjoyed the city very much (except the Beltway traffic..lol)
