My wife and I have been going to vegas 20+ years with one hand pay to our name. Years ago we didn't have a lot to gamble and played pennies mostly and some nickels when you had to carry the coins with from casino to casino now we play higher denominations and same results. I was playing a penny machine with a max bet of 1.75 when I hit 7700 four years ago. We frequently vist the Indian casinos here in oklahoma the pay back is terrible and have yet to hit a hand pay here.

In my humble experience, I put serious money through the machines last year. I’m a very low roller so my serious money is probably pocket change to others. But I did have several 1000 TC days on various trips last year.

That said, I had 3 hand pays last year and all 3 were in high limit slots. I didn’t have a single hand pay on the main floor areas. But, this is just my experience. And this experience came at a price.

Both of my hand pays have been on five dollar slots. Still waiting on a dealt royal on my 100 play VP for the third.

Going to Vegas at least once a year over the last twenty. It's only in the last two years that I have hit 3 handpays, just under 2K, two of them on 3.00 bets. Hit for 1600, 5 dollar bet at the right moment on Tarzan at CP over SB weekend. Hopefully I do not go back to a twenty year wait. You just never know when a jackpot will happen.

We’ve been going for 10 years at least once a year l, sometimes twice a year. We have never had a handpay in Vegas. I think the most we have won on a machine is $700.

We only play slots and bring an average gambling bankroll of $1500-$2000 a day (for two people).

I guess what I’m trying to say is you aren’t doing anything wrong...Vegas wasn’t built on people winning. So go and play and only gamble what you are willing to lose

I've been a diamond member with Total Rewards for many years so I know it's important to play on the card for all the perks and goodies but I swear, sometimes I really do have better luck without the damn thing. I'm in NJ so AC is my usual stomping ground and my husband and I have hit several handpays both there and in Philadelphia. Not many in Vegas but we have hit a few. The best handpay I had there was $6,600 in Planet Hollywood on an old Wizard of Oz machine the one where you collect emeralds during spins. I recall that one and then another WOZ one where it was about $1300 and then two others I can't recall the amounts.

What burns me is I've hit the grand jackpot on original Walking Dead twice while my husband hit it once. They were 19k, 21k and about 14k ... one in Philly and 2 in AC. In Vegas, that kind of jackpot is over 500k. Sigh. And the card was in on all the grand jackpots ... not on some of the other ones. Those are great hits but the other ones can be nuisance come tax times. If I hit another one of those, I'm probably going to ask them to withhold the tax right then and there.

Good luck and eventually you'll get one in Sin City!!

Watch out what you ask for, you may get it. I'd love to post the number but I can't. My tax bill this year is pretty high. The way deductions for gambling losses against winning create problems with other deductions. I don't want to go into detail but I'm single and had over $15,000 in medical expenses but couldn't deduct anything due to my 39 W-2Gs. I love get that screen freeze and see that Jackpot Handpay on my screen. But at tax time I'm not happy, especially this year.

I LOVED the Original Walking Dead slots. I haven't seen one in years in Vegas or my local CO casinos. Sure miss those. :(

As a few others have already said, I also prefer not to get hand pays. The Feds and State get too much of my hard earned money already! I'm happier getting those smaller wins that don't trigger those W2Gs. Although, I won't complain about getting a W2G, if I were to hit the big MegaBucks jackpot. LOL

Very true. I also regret having a bunch of W2G come tax time. Not only are they a PIA to fill out in your tax form, but it can bump you into a higher tax bracket assuming you are on the border of the next bracket. Even if your net wins and losses cancel each other out, you'll still end up paying for it. Much better to get a bunch of $1k TITOs.

We've told him this soooooo many times, but after 20 vodka Red Bull's, followed by White Russians, then red wine, it's only a matter of time before he starts decorating stuff...

Past trip. I told Johnny Vomit aka "Frank the Tank", that some people rub the screens for better luck. Still trying to get a handpay he does this...:haha:

Hi there!!! They are great machines and .. good news, you can find them in Vegas!! Google Aristocrat where to play and you'll see where you can search the game and the location but to save you some work ... Walking Dead is currently at Rampart Casino, Cosmo, New York New York, Plaza Hotel Casino, Boulder Station, Green Valley Ranch, Siegel Slots and Suites and in Laughlin - Avi Hotel and Casino and ... in Colorado - Monarch Casino in Black Hawk!!

Thanks for the info! I've used the slot finder before, but to no avail. I found WD2 at NYNY and Cosmo last summer, but not the original. I will keep my eyes open and fingers crossed this summer! Going to check out Monarch Casino too, so thanks for that tidbit!

You're welcome!! And I know Cosmo has them for a fact because I played them two weeks ago!! So if you come in off the strip by that ticket place, like if you cross the street at planet hollywood - go in those doors and follow the curve to the left, past the big red shoe and past the identity counters there's a section of slots, it's against the back wall ! Happy hunting!

Thank you again! I will absolutely look at Cosmo for them in June. I must have just not noticed them last year. Wish I had! I like that original one soooo much better than the 2nd one.

Same here! I feel like it's so hard to get the bonus or any of the side features on it. The original one you always had raise ups. When I can't get to the casino to play it I like to play it for fun on heart of vegas slots!

    13 trips.... zero handpays.

My biggest win was $800 on the first night of my first ever trip to Vegas. Biggest since is about $350

I play more for free drinks and comps... rarely bet over $1.50 a spin.

Yeah it's pretty difficult to get a handpay at those levels or lower. Probably one of the better chances you could give yourself is playing a VP machine where the progressive royal is $1200+.
