    My Trip Report

So, this is 40. Not my 40th trip but my 40th birthday. This will be the 5th Trip report that I have written and will be Semi-Live (hopefully). My last trip in September was solo and I managed to write it live but that was because the VMB community was keeping me company on my first solo trip. Below are the links to my previous reports.

This time Mrs M will be joining me so there will be more food pics, and I imagine, slightly less gambling but still well over 6 hours a day! We are going for 6 nights. 4 nights in a Fountain View Room in the Bellagio with $325 Freeplay and $200 food (also no Resort Fees). And then onto the Cosmo for 2 nights (Mrs M has never been there before) – we have a Terrace Suite with Fountain View.

We arrive Wednesday evening at 6pm, will Lyft to B and hopefully be down gambling by 8pm.

The big 4-0 celebration is on Thursday 7th March. We have breakfast booked for Mon Ami Gabi, a table booked for cocktails in the Sky Bar in the Waldorf Astoria (formerly Mandarin Oriental), and dinner in Michael Mina.

Friday night we have front row tickets for Carrot Top – a present from one of my team in work. We saw Carrot Top last March and loved the show so are looking forward to seeing him again.

Saturday night we are booked into NoMad Restaurant for dinner, as we both want to try the famous Chicken stuffed with Foie Gras.

Nothing else planned but we are considering Opium in the Cosmo for the Sunday night. We saw Absinthe years ago and loved it so thought we would give it a go. Have also never been to Frankie’s Tiki Room (which is always on the to-do list but never visited) and the Neon Museum (ditto).

There will be lots of gambling. Craps is my favourite game in the casino, followed by VP, then slots. I have hit a few Royals over the years on quarter machines and hope to hit one on a $1 machine this time round. I only really became interested in slots over the past two years or so, but I love them now, so expect some Heidi, Lightning Link, Pinball and Top Dollar along the way – hopefully with big “Handpays” flashing across the screen.

With Craps I usually play the Pass line with 3x odds (sometimes more) and Hardways bets at $1 dollars that will be parlayed (I had a $100 dollar Hard 6 hit in September). I tend to place the 6 & 8 and press them up. I typically put out a C/E for $5 too which I parlay once and then press – this visit I am planning on a Horn High Ace Deuce instead that I will press (I am addicted to ‘You can Bet on That” podcast and Dr Mike likes this bet so I am giving it a go). All Tall Small typically $2/$1/$2. I am going to place on the 4 & 10 and try and press them up on this trip too. (If you are not interested in Craps this is probably all mumbo jumbo but Craps fans will hopefully be interested).

Anyway, flight is at 1030 tomorrow morning Dublin to JFK to Vegas. You can go through American Customs in Dublin which is great, the customs booths are all manned by American police officers – I think it is the only place in Europe that has this. Booked into an Airport Lounge for Champagne Breakfast (gotta start the vacation in style).

Looks like a good plan and happy birthday. I celebrated my 40th in Vegas a few years ago and hit 2 royals on my birthday. Hoping you have the same luck.
