So how's Park MGM now?

I know this question has been asked in the past but... If I'm staying on a comp, will I be able to use the invited guest desk? I know at most hotels that have regular check in desks that this is fine, but I haven't stayed anywhere with this automated process. I'm staying on back to back reservations, so I'd love to talk to a person to get those reservations linked so I don't have to check in twice and exchange keys.

Overall I think Park MGM is fine. I stayed at MC likely 8 times in the past 20 years and always thought the location was great. The casino isn't always hopping, but it's a manageable size. I like being able to get to the strip without walking for miles. I think the room decor is pretty solid. They did what they could with the given space. The underground walkway to Aria is convenient, CVS is next door, overall I think it does the job. Although during pool season I likely won't as people say the pool sucks. So MGM, Mandalay or Mirage for the pool in summer.

Was there on Tuesday and there were guys jack-hammering in the middle of the casino. It reverberated throughout the casino and Eataly.

I did not paly tables there on my last trip to Aria just VP at the Center Bar and the bartender was friendly and the drinks kept coming.
Your comment on the dice dealers reminds me of the Monte Carlo.
Last time I walked over from Aria and played dice it was dreadful.
No personalities, smiles, conversation or anything.
Only one toking the crew at the table and not a thank you.

The only acknowledgement I got was a scolding from the stickperson when on ONE shot the dice bounced sideways and did not hit the back wall.

If MGM really wants to upgrade the image of this place they will have to make some personnel changes on the floor.

I stayed at Park MGM in early February. I had a room on the 19th floor and did not experience the thin wall issues. The room was smaller than most Vegas rooms and there are no dresser drawers to put clothes and other things in. The bath room had only a single sink and no place to set your toiletries. If you are traveling with a female that brings a lot of stuff, this could be an issue. I really mis the food court the Monte Carlo used to have as there are no cheap places to grab a quick bite to eat. Eatily is over-rated and expensive and it is nearly impossible to get a place to sit down. The casino is nothing special but the drink service was above average. The sports book is not even worth going to. You have to squint to look behind the betting table to see the current betting odds, most places have large score board displays for this. I prefer staying at Excalibur instead of Park MGM

Question: the resort fee for the park says “wired internet” I have no idea who uses wired internet at a hotel etc but what bout wifi?

Surely it must be included in the room ?

    Thanks

    It’s just plain WiFi.

Oh ok. The resort fee thread on this message board states wired internet.

    Thanks for clarification.

Never stayed at MC and opted for ParkMGM since it is new.
Will be there next weekend and staying in a Nighthawk room.
Probably doing a live tr but will try to remember to post another reply here when I return with feedback.

Did I read correctly that checkin is done through a kiosk? No way to checkin with a human to request a quieter room if there is such a thing? What if people have specific requests other than room.

    Thanks

Correct, unless you are a casino comped guest.

Hmm comped guest? Would that be me? I have an upcoming reservation for free. Paying resort fees.

    Thanks

Yes, you should be able to use the desk. It’s small and has no sign or anything. Ask an employee for the invited guest check-in desk if you can’t find it.

I completed a 2 night stay here recently. Here are my thoughts.

CHECK IN: As noted in prior posts, it was mainly self check-in kiosks. There were several staff who were readily available if you had problems. I used VIP check in, which was available for Gold and above per front desk agent. I did see an agent turn away a couple of hotel guests who were not Gold and above. They were redirected to use the self check-in kiosks.

ROOM: Positives - clean, big HD TV, nice bathroom, nice decor, good view of T Mobile Arena. Negatives - small closet and no dresser, air conditioner did not work, walls were paper thin, bathtub did not drain well. My main issue was the A/C. It was too warm for my entire stay, and I can't imagine how it would be in the summer. Because I like to sleep in a very cold room, I'll have to pass on staying here again.

CASINO: Not big but not too small. I'm a slots player, and there was a decent variety of games. Also the casino was fairly active and lively, making for a nice atmosphere. Cocktail service was good too! Waitresses made contact within minutes of sitting down and returned with drinks fairly quickly. Definitely a fan of the casino.

RESTAURANTS: Ate at Primrose for breakfast and Bavette's for dinner. Both were excellent! Highly recommend both. Bavette's was most impressive. Exceptionally cool old school steakhouse with outstanding food and service. Portions were generous and should be shared. The wine selection was excellent and included half bottles of some nice stuff.

Overall I enjoyed my stay and would stay again if only the A/C worked better.

Hmmm so I won't be able to use the VIP checkin if I decide to stay even on my comped dates? I have no status. I am now tossing and turning over another property downtown. :)
