You know your trip is getting closer when you....

... Get a scratchy throat and start worrying that you're coming down with something.

 

That is exactly happening to me right now and the wife is terrified she will get what I have now.

 

THIS!!!! Seriously, I'm not even sure why I bring a suitcase half the time. I could just throw undies and a toothbrush in my purse. Ok, maybe one change of clothing but yes, it will be something I've probably worn there the previous 18 trips . Lol

 

I’m less than two weeks out and in full panic mode trying to get things off my desk!

Amazing how a Vegas deadline makes me more productive

I will think about packing etc. night before I leave.

Reminds me I better check car rental rates - yikes

 

Scrambling to find a place to FIX the strap on her favourite Vegas purse before next Saturday,

 

It's getting close when I make up my pre-trip "to do" list.

 

When I start thinking, “oh shit I need to pack!” And inevitably forget something every damn time.

 

I start playing online slots A LOT more

I start to slip into full on "Sin City" mode and think about array of possibilities that could occur while I'm there. The flashes of handpays and slot lights going off. The high fives around the craps table after another order of purples have been ordered. The women telling me how irresistible I am to them. Fantasy? Maybe. Definitely. I mean I'm still waiting for it these things to take place. But days before a trip, I'm Vegas Dreamin'. I wonder just how much degeneracy one can succumb to.

 

1. I start visiting this board more
2. I start playing MyVegas more often
3. I have the bankroll saved up
4. I am on the plane.

 

OMG! LOL visit = fix!

 

When I start counting down the hours and minutes until I land in Vegas.

One hundred, twenty-three hours and forty-three minutes in case anyone was curious

(coincidentally, I also know my trip is getting closer when I start driving people nuts by mentioning exactly how many hours and minutes until I land in Vegas....)

 

When I look at my iPhone countdown app, see the picture I uploaded as the background with a single digit number showing then a tear rolls down my cheek, that's when I know I'm close!

Oh, and my suitcase is on the floor next to my bed and has started to get filled....

 

If I'm going with my friends, when it's gets close to the time we're leaving - usually 1 -2 weeks before the trip. We get together for a lunch and try to nail down some things we want to do and one of the guys writes up an official plan. We usually end up doing about 60% of what's on the list.

 

This is me to the tee...

 

Start to panic that the flight will get cancelled for various reasons.

1. Airline going bust (last time i am going to go with Thomas cook)
2. Some volcano is going to erupt and cancel the flight
3. Some knob head flying a drone near an airport and grounding all the flights (its all the rage in the UK)
4. Hurricanes in the flight path that may cause cancellations.

My god i need therapy

 

When I look in the rear view mirror and yell at my kids to shut up for the next 4 hours because I get to drive after being exhausted at work while they yap constantly and my wife gets to gracefully sleep in the passenger seat. This is when I know it’s real

 

When you’re in the self checkout aisle at the grocery story and after feeding the bill collector with cash you stand there looking for some buttons to push.

 

1) Start reading this site (and others) daily.
2) Make lists of different things you might want to do, visit, eat/drink at, ect....
3) Shop for new clothes/shoes/purse to bring
4: Start packing.

And yes, I still have a little less than a month to go and I've started all of these things!

 

Double check: parking reservation, airline reservation times, vegas airport transportation reservation, hotel reservations, and have list of what days who has food comps to use and free play to use based on comp days.

The others also have me do a loose schedule of where we need to be when, each day of trip. Always changes, but....

Also this trip need to be sure to plan to use up or cash out all Bconnected points.
