    My Trip Report

I called my TR from last month the gambling trip from hell, I don’t know what description to use for this one. What's worse then a trip from hell?

Friday departure. Normal stuff Southwest non-stop and EB, so boarding positions A24 & 25. Flight was on time and we sat in row 4 window and center. Same suite at Cal we have had before. Room 1536. We were at the Boar’s Head (BHB) by 3 PM. I got three 4oak quickly but ended the day -$1,300 because those were the only 4oak in 8 hours of play of dollar DDB. 1,054 B Conned Tier Credits. Total TC at 2,692. We had breakfast before getting to the airport, so we just had pub food at 777 that night. Good, but not picture worthy.

Saturday DDB all day. Four 4oak ALL DAY! 4 Aces twice. Once on $1DDB and once on 10 play quarters. No kickers on either one. 3,700 TC and minus $1,200, so tapped my line of credit (LOC) at MSS.

Normal terrific dinner at Redwood on our Gold Card. Prime Rib for me & lamb chops for my wife and a giant baked potato that we shared.

Sat Prime Rib.jpg saturday giant baked spud.jpg saturday lamb chops.jpg

Sunday… We walked over to 4Q to try and change our luck and visit our favorite bartender upstairs at Chicago Brewing Co. That plan sucked. In the time it took me to drink one beer, I lost $400! I don’t think I even had a three of kind on dollar DDB.

So back to BHB at MSS by 12PM. First 4oak at 4:15 PM. There would only be two more. Back to the cage to tap my LOC. Losses really starting to pile up.

Now we get to Monday. DDB video all day starting at 9 AM. NOT ONE FOUR OF A KIND in 12 hours.:cry:Back to tap my LOC because it’s only 9 PM and we are leaving tomorrow. Still never got a 4oak before I went to bed.:cry: Flight is supposed to be at 9:40 AM, so we have a wakeup call at 6 AM.

Total losses for just me at $8,500.

4AM my wife wakes me and says the weather (snowstorm) back in Milwaukee is looking really bad. She is using her Directv App to watch local Milwaukee TV in the room on her tablet. On to the SWA app and yes they are offering free flight changes back to Milwaukee. We do the change to the same time flight the next day (Wednesday).

Anyway, Call the casino manager to change our limo pickup to the next day. Call the front desk to add another night and finally email our host to add another day to our Gold Card.

Then I have to call the kennel to add another night for the dog and the parking lot, to add another day. We park across the street from the airport and you give them a call when you have your luggage. They send a shuttle to pick you up and have your car running and all the snow removed. Wisconsin winters we feel it's worth it at $9 per day.

Room was comped, limo still comped, food was comped and of course i had to pay for extra parking day and the kennel.

Now we are gambling on Tuesday and I Have to hit the LOC one more time. After i dumped another $1,000, i just quit. I was in the room at 7pm.

Killing time in the room, i call my best friend 0f 60 years. I have known him since kindergarten and he tells me his wife passed away. 64 years old and married for over 40 years. Can this trip get any worse??

But wait I’m not done. Tuesday, we eat lunch at 777 and I make a comment to our server Flo. We do know most of the servers by name, that I haven’t seen Monique in a while. For you 777 regulars, short, cute, redhead, about 40 years old. She tells us she was murdered in Sept. by her boyfriend.

We had EB boarding on SWA but with the flight change our new boarding positions became C30 &31. I did upgrade to the new SWA Priority card which means I can get reimbursed for the $50pp upgrade charge. So, we boarded at A4 & A5. You can only do this at the gate counter, not on-line. Max of 4x per year. Then, the turbulence was so bad, the FA only had time to serve one drink on a 3.5 hour flight.

Still not done…my VMB green wristband broke on Saturday. Just snapped. I do wear it every trip and this time I met three VMB members. Honestly, I don't think it was because of the wristband. More because I was on Joe's machine at BHB, number 1. :D

End of trip numbers…my wife, playing quarter ddb, loses about $1,000. Me, almost $9,500.

Bconned numbers. 4,128 Tier credits. New total of Bconned tier credits is 5,766. Definitely will be Shapire for 2020. Point total of 807,756, up 320,600. All points were from bartop vp, mostly 9/5 DDB. Kind of amazing as I talked (complained) to various bartenders and customers overheard my comments, that so many were unaware of the Bconnected changes in the program. Even simple things like pulling your card out to do a scratch card, resets your play time and most were unaware.

I had to post this because I did play some STP. Guy on machine #3 at BHB.

Oh well, we’ll get them in April, right? Heading to Spring Training next month in Phoenix.

Absolutely no work going on at Circa (Las Vegas Club) property the five days we were there. Still just a hole in the ground.

Lots of bad news and bad gambling on this trip. But I am always hopeful for next time.

LOL! Not at your terrible trip, but posting the picture of "Guy on machine #3." That's my buddy! I had already seen that picture via text a couple of days ago. lol

When I saw your dates I knew that you must have played with them at some point. Both of my friends put some good time in at the BHB this trip. It's not the machines Joe, because they were working for them. One of them sent me a picture of his 12 scratchers from one day. And the other one, with the big win, was having more success than just the win pictured.

Did you play in the video poker tournament? They did and didn't finish in the money.

Sorry for the ass beating you took. Next time!

@Big Tip One of those Boyd things. If I book for a tournament, I can't use my free play offer which is usually $75. I have played in some VP tournaments in the past and found I play too slow to compete. I think I won $200 about ten years ago.

Yes, those two guys were there most of our stay and that machine #3 was doing well for him, besides the aces on STP.

I don't blame the machines per say, it's the RNG and sometimes that big black cloud follows you everywhere. This was another one of those trips.

    Sorry for the unfortunate trip!

I’m hoping that you get one of those great trips with a bunch of premium quads and a Royal next time.

    April should be better weather!

Wow bad trip. Here’s hoping for success and handpays next time. My last trip was bad on the slot/vp end and only marginally successful betting the horses. My next trip is in 9 days and hoping for better.
    Thanks for keeping it real.

Joe I guess I was one of the three that stopped to say hello. It was the machine but what confirmed and gave me the confidence to stop and say high was the vmb green wristband. Thanks for taking the time to say hello.

When he sent me the picture he said, "and one of them was for $3!"

I responded (because he had already sent me a picture of one of his royals earlier), "The royal was okay, but now I'm REALLY impressed!"

I did get a $5 one once. The attendant was even impressed that time. lol

I’m in Vegas now at the Orleans. I’m not doing so great either. Will head Sowntown tomorrow. Hope it gets better.

Your report about Monique at 777 made me extremely sad. Prayers to her family and friends.

Thank you for the report, although a sad and depressing one I’m impressed that you are taking it quite well. That means next trip things will start to get better.

Sorry to hear about the 4 OAKS drought. 12 hours without a 4 OAK is crazy. I talked to Oleg Wednesday and he told me how you changed your flight. I played a lot of Joker Poker this trip and didn't do bad but never hit a big one. Wife got 4 nines with a joker. You definitely need 2 royals at the dollar level to get back in shape. Hope things turn around for you next trip.

Agree...we always have our best luck at BHB. 3 days of scratch cards last trip, including some $3's and the ever elusive $5.

Hopefully things end up on the positive side next time.

    wow, sorry that it sucked.
I have had my share of those trips.
when I start feeling a lot of anxiety over it, I know it is time to take a break. for some people that is where the problem begins. they don't know to take a break.
I am currently giving my home casino a break, I have only been 1 time in 4-5 months. normally I would be there about twice a month.
my next trip to Vegas will be March 27th, for my B-day and NCAA. I hope the gaming gods are with me.

Joe. Same story at the quarter level in February for the Super Bowl. Got in late Saturday but played for about 2 hours and then Sunday for about 4 hours. Went to the game at Fremont street and had a good time but too tired to play more than a couple of hours afterward. We were actually even going to bed Sunday night. Left Wednesday about noon. Together lost about 1400$ at BHB (although we got lots of 4oak's but only 2 premium hands with no kicker) between Monday about 10 am and noon Wednesday. In dollar terms that's 5600$ but at quarters only 1400$. Quite depressing. But come April 6 we will venture once again to recoup. It was quite depressing. We too were retired about 5:30 on our last night (how sick is that?) but what else can you do?

We also got a great deal on frontier airlines for 158$ for 2 r/t which was uneventful. Didn't make us feel much better though we thought it a steal at the time of purchase.

Thanks for your side of things though it doesn't make us feel any better as to our plight. It just sucks sometimes.

Well crap that was depressing, really hope you turn things around your next trip. If not maybe a change of scenery is in order, outside the Boyd stranglehold. Figure Boyd should throw you a bone and a few 4Aces with kicker, you guys are like free advertising for them.

    Sorry about the bad runs.
Many math people probably don't believe it, but I absolutely know it happens.
It happens more often than we want to believe.

No wonder, I heard that Joe doesn't like anyone sits at his machine.
