Unfortunately MyVegas is for getting you to go Sun-Thur...Vegas doesn’t need any help getting people to come on Friday and Saturday

One last $20 tossed into GoT then off to the airport.

Great trip! Felt too short, as usual.

I’ll post a recap once I’m home with a real keyboard:)

    Thanks for following along!

Fun to read. Love the excitement and low rolling and going out on a limb with $5 a spin! Congrats on the GoT wins and comebacks.

Just catching up on this. I enjoyed following along and I'm glad you enjoyed Park. I wish Eataly had been open when we stayed there, would love to check it out.

    Hey VMB'ers:

Thanks for following along on my trip. Live TRs are great for keeping track--it's so easy to forget what you've done since the days in LV are so full.

Some last thoughts...The Park MGM was just great. It felt just right to me -- fancy enough that I felt I was staying someplace special, but not so fancy that I felt I was out of place. It was easy to get around in, and there were plenty of food options. Eataly was great--I had breakfast every morning at LaVazza. Now, if you are a fan of those sugary syrupy Starbucks drinks, you won't find much to your liking at LaVazza. But the coffee was delicious, and the pastries were too, and reasonably priced. There was always plenty of seating when I was there. In fact, yesterday the line there was just a few people long and at Starbucks, it was about 30 people. I didn't eat/drink at any other of the Eataly spots, but the food I saw all looked good.

That damn combo door just gave me grief. That, I think, was a big design error. Better to make the closet open. I'd close the door to the bathroom, to get into the closet, and then need to get back into the bathroom and have to move that heavy door. That was the only bad thing about the room though.

I had a red room. It felt chic, and I liked the art. Comfy bed. Good housekeeping service. I did not order room service, so can't comment on that.

I and my friend really liked Opium. Next time, I want to see Absinthe as it's from the same creative company. Funniest/weirdest act was the guy with tennis rackets. If you've seen it, you'll know what I mean. Confetti!

I figured out why the last day goes the way it does. It's because it's The Last Day! I can drink a little too much, as it's the last day. I can gamble more freely, as my bankroll is still full. It's like the gates on my restraints are opened a little, and I can go a little tiny bit wild. LOL. I think you guys know now that for me, wild is playing $5 a spin on the slots!

I was surprised as how pleasant Excalibur was. I hadn't been there in about a decade, and I remember it being kind of run down. The lobby bar or maybe it was the sports bar, where I played VP, was pleasant with a friendly bar tender. Cocktail service was a little flaky (twice I ordered a drink from a CW and she didn't come back, and yes, I was sitting in the same spot!). Still I got enough beer to (finally) get a little buzzed. I would actually consider staying at Excalibur after this experience. Especially with NYNY and Park so close, the lack of decent food options wouldn't be too big of a hurdle.

Re: nightclubs. I really liked Marquee and while I loved the decor of On the Record, it wasn't as good for dancing, which is what I really like to do at clubs. Guest lists worked great! I used Jack Colton for Marquee and NoCoverNightclubs for On the Record. Both were communicative and worked fine. I like the guest list option because, hey, free, and more, I go to clubs to dance, not see and be seen or to drink. So getting there early, before it's crazy crowded, is actually perfect. I can only take about an hour or an hour and a half of busy, noisy, nightclub, so would hate to pay $$$ to get in.

What else? Charlie Palmer was good not great. Service was excellent, and as a solo diner, I felt truly pampered. But the food didn't blow me away. There are too many other options to give it another try. Hell's Kitchen was uneven, with the lobster risotto just ... blah. The service was great, and the pineapple dessert amazing--I would go back for that alone! Nothing much to report about the dining. I always anticipate going to more restaurants than I actually dine at--I just can't eat that much. I never go to buffets.

This was a relaxing, refreshing, fun trip. Very glad I spotted the email from Spirit that inspired it. Oh, right Spirit! I wasn't expecting much, based on comments, and such, but the Spirit flights were great! The staff were funny and friendly and professional. The planes were clean, and the pilots were very communicative. I would definitely fly them again! Who needs free soda?
