Low-Roller Trip w the gf (Feb 8th-Feb 14) 4 Queens / Signature MGM - Live

A little intro about me and this trip. I'm a 32 male from Ottawa, Ontario. So stoked. I've been to Vegas about 10 times, but it's always just with the boys for gambling and drinking. We usually play 2-4 limit poker and just play pretty dumb. Or all play Pai-Gow for hours just to get bombed for super cheap.

This is my first time going to Vegas with my girlfriend and none of the boys. It will be different for sure. I've never actually seen a show before, even tho I've been ten times. Unless you count Rhino as a show, when we were winning, or Glitter Glutch or something like that when we weren't winning so much. We'll actually be probably eating at restaurants where you sit and eat, usually when I got Vegas, we just get fast food, so we can have more time to lose all our monies playing poker, craps, or whatever game.

We originally were going to fly out on the Sunday, but I was able to score a sweet flight for $600 CDN that leaves Friday afternoon at 4:45pm, layover in T Dot, and then arrive in Vegas by 10pm. We have for nights comped at Signature MGM from the MyVegasApp, from Sunday to Wednesday. And since I wanted to take her downtown anyways, I decided to do the first two nights at Four Queens because it was cheap. So we have the two nights at Four Queens to start, and then four nights at Signature MGM.

We have a few things planned, like her doing a lot of shopping at the Outlets, Miracle Mile, and Forum Shops. Hopefully during those times, I can escape to get my degenerate gambling on. She is in love with that Chef Ramsey guy, so we are going to Hell's Kitchen. Also, we are seeing Love, Friends parody (she loves Friends, so I'm surprising her that), and Nathan Burton bc it's a cheap show.

I also got ACG and LVA coupon books, I've never had these before, so another reason why I wanted to go downtown, so I could gamble with the match plays and stuff. We aren't super rich, so don't expect to see any $1000 casino chips or anything huge, lol, I'm a low limit gambler. My bankroll management tho is terrible, so hopefully I don't lose all my money at the start, haha, it's happened before, I'm a train wreck. My girlfriend doesn't gamble. Unless it's my money, then she likes gambling.

We've been dating for like 4 or 5 years I think. She's like 24 or 25. Around there-ish. I'm literally the worst that I don't know these things, and she's the best. She's cooler then the other side of the pillow and I'm glad to have her on this adventure with me.

Haven't decided if I need shorts or pants for Vegas. It's like -30 here in Ottawa, and in Vegas it's around 10 degrees Celsius, so it seems like shorts and hoodie weather. I'm super stoked. It's 12:55am and I should be asleep, but I am so pumped. It's like Christmas. rwhe4lrwhrjkl3whk3jhr2k32423 yayyyyyyyy lets do this!!!

On GF not gambling, I love to play/gamble, hubs NEVER gambles. He's happy as a clam hitting sports bars, drinking, watching college sports and talking sports. (Like your GF loving shopping.)

Our Vegas styles are totally different, but we actually go MORE to Vegas together than we ever did alone, and we both love it more with each other, despite polar opposite styles!

I hope you find Vegas is as magical for you as we found it is for us.

Have fun, it sounds like it’s going to be a fun trip. My Wife and I will be arriving Tuesday night. We are about the same age, if you guys want to get a drink let us know. We also have a small get together with some Vegas message board members Wednesday night at the cosmo if you want to join us you guys are more than welcomed. Safe travels!

 

So frazzled. Our flight originally was at 4:45pm leaving Ottawa to Toronto. Then 8pm Toronto to Vegas. Arrive in Vegas at 10pm local.

Then I got a call that our 4:45pm flight was cancelled and they wanted us to take a flight to Toronto, then Vancouver, stay overnight at the airport, and then leave to Vegas in the morning. It would have wasted a day for us. I called the WestJet person and told them my girlfriend is going to dump me if I screw up this trip, and that she's my first ever girlfriend, and I don't want to lose her (none of this is true). He felt really bad for me, and then put us on an early flight that leaves Ottawa at 1:45pm. We have a five hour layover in Toronto, but at least this way, we still get our original flight to Vegas at 10pm tonight. I don't know if I had to lie, but my girlfriend was beside me on the couch when I was making the call and had to leave the room from not laughing. Great start to the trip I guess, lol. Now we just need to drop the keys off at one of her sorority sister's house because she has to look after out cats while we are away. They are called Tinder and Matcha. Yes, I called my cat Tinder like the app.

Currently in Toronto for a layover. My girlfriend and I were eating tacos and this random dude sits at our table alone and eats tacos too. Then I realize it’s Jonas Valencunias from the Toronto Raptors, he just got traded to Memphis. I told him I’m a huge fan. I got my picture with him. Crazy haha. Flight leaves in an hour and a half!

 

Five hour flight, not looking forward to that.

Questions to you veterans, is the $20 trick worth it at Four Queens and Signature MGM?
