German guy's solo trip - will try to do semi-live

Made it through security pretty fast, but the cigars in my carry-on caused a bit of attention on the scanners as always. But had a friendly chat with the security guys after they had checked what all the stuff in my carry-on was.

Now at the gate, waiting for the first part of todays flights. Next stop: London!

This is London calling! Made it to Heathrow in an uneventful flight. Small airbus A320 with very limited space in business class, but no big deal on a 90 minutes flight. Bit of a bumpy approach, but besides that a smooth flight.

 

Well, i guess i can call out the first win of the trip. After changing terminals in Heathrow i decided to check with the servicedesk of BA if there are any upgrades available. And after a short and gentle chat the beautiful lady at the desk offered me a promotional upgrade to first class for 650,- . So, after scoring in the businessclass ticket for a really good fare a few weeks ago, i am now flying first class and didn't even pay the total of a regular business class fare for it.

So i'll count that as a first win in my books.

Now in the firstclass lounge, enjoying a healthy pour of Jameson and starting to really get this very unique Vegas vacation feel.

Pic of the champagne bar also included, but i don't crave it now. Still got some hours to kill, so i'm sitting here and writing two trip reports simultaniously. Always changing between english and german is kind of puzzling somehow, but i guess it helps keeping the brain trained throughout vacation, right?

 

Awesome upgrade! Now that's how to start a trip!
