I saw a post somewhere that was talking about suites in boulevard, but I thought they were only in chelsea.. I've only had them in chelsea. There is no tower in the way of the view,. My last trip I was on the 19th floor and the jockey club roof was there in pictures but I didn't notice it when I was looking out. I liked that the fountain show looked like a fountain show instead of being flat like it is on the higher floors. But the roof definitely messes up the pictures. I'd go for higher. I don't think there's really lower haha. This is the lowest floor, worst view of the fountains i've ever had and it was really just the roof wrecking pictures.
Mine was the second room from the elevator. I'm a pretty light sleeper but the way the terrace suite is laid out you aren't sleeping anywhere close to the door. I didn't hear hallway noise. It's something that bothers the heck out of me, and I had no issue. There's some farther away, I had never been this close to the elevator before, but mine being really close wasn't a problem.
Chelsea tower is a lot quieter than boulevard which is why I prefer it.
I don't do the $20 trick. I tip the front desk because they are awesome without me bribing them.
Here's 19th floor view, sitting on the sofa.

A few floors and that roof would go away.

Pretty sure this is 41st floor and way better pic. I must have been drunk.

Thanks for the help guys. I looked at the floor plan again and you’re both right, I’d never hear the corridor from bed. It’s just reflex from heavy travelling with my old job that I fear it. I sleep like a soldier, can fall asleep anywhere in 10 seconds but 1 little sound and I snap awake.

Yeah that 19th floor one would annoy me. I’d be back at reception in a heartbeat. Hopefully because it’s paid for I will get allocated nicely though arriving on Saturday isn’t ideal. The Wednesday / Thursday prices are crazy high so I think they’re pretty much full.

40ish floor looks amazing. Just what I want. Unfortunately it’s a semi working trip so sitting on the balcony (with a hoodie because it’s freezing late November) doing some work while the fountains go seems like the best of a bad situation.

By way of update, I didn’t do the sandwich as it’s pointless when you’ve got the room you want. However I did tip the $20 at the front desk as I left as a thank you for good service. I took the floor advice and got level 31, turned out pretty well for the view as you can see.

Don’t know if it’s related as it’s the first time I’ve stayed at the Cosmo and what did happen is that I got marked as an “invited guest” after check in, I’m honestly not sure if that is due to identity membership (wasn’t gold till I checked out though) or the fact I tipped as in other hotels it’s what I get when hosts sort it. Meant I managed to skip the Wicked Spoon queue each day though so that was nice and would have been worth the $20 anyway as I had shit to do and that queue every morning for 6 days would have killed my life.

The tip probably did it. Normally, "Invited Guest" means you're booked on a casino marketing offer.

Yeah that’s what I figured as it’s that at other hotels and I’d let my Marriott status lapse down a couple of levels. Was a nice surprise hence mentioning it.

Hopefully next time the tables will treat me a bit nicer so I keep playing there and can actually get some decent offers.

I don't understand how Invited Guest status enabled you to bypass queue at Wicked Spoon. Were you given a line pass? I always stay as Invited Guest but I'm not able to jump the queue. That is usually based on Identity level.

When we gave our name/room number when we paid (before you get in the queue) they look you up and if you’re an invited guest you skip the queue.

Ah okay, I assume that’s when it’s extremely busy then. Even so, once you pay you should get escorted right in if you’re “invited guest” unless it’s all invited guests who are queuing!

We checked in 1/2 for a 2 night stay, a Wednesday but it's a pretty busy time. We booked a studio fountain view, The clerk almost immediately started pitching room upgrades so I knew they were available, and I'd heard $20 won't do much for you at nicer spots. Subtlety is not a strong suit of mine, so I said "How about I just give you $40 for a wrap around suite?". He gets on the phone and we get upgraded to a the 1 bedroom fountain view (it has a hot tub, which we used) and a solid floor, 61 (no idea what floor I would've been on before).

Was that $ a tip, or was for each night?

A tip. Not sure if it was worth it for such a quick stay (I was really just curious if it would work), but anything longer than 2 nights, definitely.

This is the best tip in the thread (though to be fair it probably belongs in the comps thread! Upgrade fees and nice meals are the quickest route to gold status.

I am a Marriott Rewards/Bonvoy Lifetime Titanium member, so in theory I should receive a complementary upgrade even to a suite, but I know that’s likely not gonna happen in Vegas. My plan was to do the $20 sandwitch and ask for an upgrade to a wraparound suite with a nice view as a Marriott Titanium member. We currently have a Fountain View Studio. Going April 5-9th! Wish me luck!!

Good luck. Most people I know have gotten nothing room wise for Marriott status (like some Asian RItz Carlton’s do) beyond a view change, which you can often get anyway but you might get lucky if it’s quiet.

They’ll generally always give you an upgrade price though.

Studio is a nice room so you’ll not suffer.

Yah! I know it’s a long shot, although with “Titanium” you generally carry a little more weight, but clearly at a casino based hotel, they are catering more to the gaming audience than the business traveler...

I am going in May for one night. Do you think the $20 trick is worth it if I'm already locked-in for a Studio Terrace Room with a Fountain view? I'm also going through the invited guest line, too...so not sure if they have different abilities versus the regular front desk folks.

Depends what you are after? The 1bed room? A specific tower?

I mean it never hurts to try but I wouldn't expect much more than the above.

On a Friday night, they might "upgrade" you to a One Bedroom or a One Bedroom Fountain View, but I doubt higher than that, $20 or no $20. On a Friday night, the jump to a Terrace Suite or Wraparound is at least $200.

Whether the One Bedroom is really an upgrade is debatable. In terms of price, it's a tiny upgrade (usually only around $20 anyway). In terms of the room layout, I think people split about 50/50 on which room they like better.
