2487 miles and we are here!

So after four days of driving the truck from the East coast we finally made it. The last couple of weeks before the move were so chaotic...but it's done. We spend a few days sleeping in a hotel ( free comp nights), but now the truck in unloaded and slowly but surely the boxes are getting unpacked.
Of course we had to visit our favorite casino the South Point. Feels kind of funny and different when you know it's not going upstairs to your room when you had enough, it's getting in the car and driving home.

So if there is a meetup I sure love to meet some of the nice people on here

 

Wow. You actually did it. The move from the East Coast to LV. My dream.
I do know what it's like to have a bunch of casinos at your disposal as I live near AC (9 full service casino/resorts)...but it's not the same. Wish I was in your shoes.

 

Congrats! I should be there in April/May. What part of town did you move to. Since you said Southpoint, you’re probably not that far from where I’ll be moving

 

Been to AC a few times it's nice but cold. Been here so many times and always wanted to give it a try. We will see how it goes in the summer and with the family being still in the cold. For now our lease is one year.

 

Congrats on getting there safe. Here in Oklahoma and when I lived in PA there were casinos nearby but it’s just not the same or as fun as Vegas. All of the extra things to do in addition to the gambling help make it special. Also, unless some major oil & gas activit happens there I will probably never get the chance to live there. Thank you! We live in the Silverado Ranch area. Took a while to find a place with all the gazillion reviews on everything and our personal demands. 15 minutes to the airport, less than 5 to South Point and tons of stores almost in walking distance.

 

Thanks for the good wishes! We had the Sands in Bethlehem not far from our place. Interestingly enough, even though we just play the minimum slots, we got three comp nights at the Venetian. It was nice to try that place out since we would have never spend the money on such a fancy hotel, but!!!!!! the long walk to the room...hmmm....don't know if I we had done it if we had known before hand.

 

I'm still trying to convince DH to make the move just for a year. But no luck··· Yet!!!

A year goes by so fast and if you guys been here before what is stopping him? We have kids and one grand kid on the east side but we just have to do this. Our daughter thought that is super cool and awesome our son just about flipped his lid. He will get over it. LOL
You know it's one of those things that if we don't do it we will always wonder what if.... maybe crazy....but that's my middle name.

We moved out here from IL in Aug. Lived in Laquinta inn for a month and a half until we found and closed on a house. Lone mountain area. Love it here. I also said I wanted to try it for a year.

 

We said we try for a year and go from there. Kids and grand kid, soon kids, are still east. Will see how much we miss seeing them every other week and how we deal with the summer heat. Do you have family still back in IL?
