Just wondering what to expect next week. I believe the construction has begun. I know a local company here in the Bay Area is supplying the materials, but have no idea how the actual replacement will happen.

No comments on any negative impacts to the experience due to the construction/ replacement on the TA reviews.

Are we talking about upgrading the LED show? How long is that supposed to take?

Yes, that's what I'm asking about. It's supposed to be unveiled either by NYE or ON NYE.

On our last trip this past November, while Mrs. Blue was inside the Indian shop, I noticed this display and realized that it may be a "test strip" for the canopy upgrade...

The resolution is impressive considering that there is no screen of any type behind this test screen, just mid-afternoon daylight.. you can see the off axis resolution (to the left) is outstanding for a mid day projection, so if this is indeed a test strip the new canopy should be pretty impressive at night...

Might be kind of similar to what the WWE uses

I saw the test panels too, I think the FSE is going to have a whole new vibe if the background is black instead of white as it is today. The current panels allow some light through during the day. I think the new panels are going to be completely solid. I am not sure if I am going to like this, as it could turn FSE into a "cave".

According to this article the whole project should have been completed by now.... https://globenewswire.com/news-release/2018/08/13/1550991/0/en/Watchfire-Signs-Selected-for-30-Million-Las-Vegas-Fremont-Street-Experience-Renovation.html -- Wonder if the demo work at 18 Fremont had anything to do with the delay??

Also, this company is based out of Danville IL, not Danville CA.

A start in May for NYE? That seems too long, to be honest. It's just panels. Remove old ones, install new ones, done. This should be a relatively fast project, especially since people come out just for this. I bet it is completed no later than August.

By this, do you mean there is still a show? Haven’t been dt in over a year. Was thinking of popping down for quick stop dt in a few weeks

The show seemed to be running as normal. I didn't see any construction or closures on the canopy.

Just got back and can confirm - nothing with significant impact. I did see a mini crane/lift doing something, but couldn't tell if it was the "new" project or not.

I'll be in town starting on the 25th. Will report on any disruptions, but it may be too early.

If that's the case, they probably figure it doesn't matter since the daytime population under the canopy is probably about 5% of what it is in the evening when the lights come on.

I'm never going to get what I want which is a complete elimination of the canopy and a re-emphasis on the facades of the casinos which helped earn the name "Glitter Gultch" so I guess I don't care either way. :D

Oh well, change is still neat regardless. I'll look forward to checking it out when it goes into full operation.

Just came back from being out there this weekend.. Absolutely no construction on the canopy was seen. Everything was normal..
The Circa property just has a huge hole in the ground. Nothing worthy being built there just right yet..

I remember seeing awhile back that there would be construction on it and it would be done by the 4th of July but. It seems like not much is happening ?
