Wouldn't a review that she wrote have to be stolen for her to be Sarahed?

Yeah, Saul (Las Vegas Junkie) who took over the site got a Real Estate license and moved to Las Vegas and dropped Vegas Bright. Micheal Movestro (the founder and original editor) rediscovered his love of DJing and music and he didn't want it back. In the transition, I had a few unpublished articles that he edited and released last June as a courtesy to me, but he said that he is likely not going to repay when the URL payment is due this summer.

Movestro explains it all in his response to my post of this on Trip Advisor.

Well the point is that Sarah steals reviews of places she probably hasn't been to or at least hasn't taken the time to write up her own review in her own words. What better than for her to steal someone's review on their experience of being "Sarahed" and make it her own.

Keep writing the reviews and put a sentence in the middle of the review....

"Sarah, quit copying reviews from VMB and posting them on Yelp". Perhaps she is lazy enough not to notice.

    LOVE this Breanna!

Or, since Yelp doesn't seem to really care about fixing it...

"Sarah, quit copying reviews from VMB and posting them on Yelp.

Yelp, why are you keeping these postings up despite the fact that you have been notified that they are fake/plagiarized from other websites?"

Even better just go off on a complete tangent in the middle of a soup review telling a long, detailed story about that one time you fell in a pond chasing frogs and ended up covered in leeches and had to ask for help from the UPS guy to get them out of those hard to reach areas.

    That’s a very... specific example.

Rob? Is there something you need to share with the group?

Pro tip: UPS drivers blend into the woods a lot better than FedEx drivers.

Are the reviews they (Sarah A) have used positive or negative?

Some of the (not very good!) pictures from that review are from my trip report...

The more I think about this, the more I wonder if she is doing it for some financial gain. Say she keeps taking reviews from sites like this and builds her Yelp account up then goes to the LVRJ and says hey look at my Yelp account how about hiring me on as a freelance contributor for restaurant reviews....Then she gets paid to copy and paste

This is one of the more puzzling Las Vegas scams, if you can call it that. It just speaks to at least in the case of review sites of having to read things with some degree of wariness or suspicion. In the case of a restaurant review, ditch the best and worst reviews, and probably the truth lies somewhere in the middle. At least this situation isn't as egregious as a certain casino publication years ago ranking a certain center strip casino chain as having the best video poker in Las Vegas for years on end, when anybody knowledgeable about video poker knew that wasn't the case, but I'm sure it still isn't very reassuring to the posters whose reviews and pictures were lifted.

LOL, somebody here oughta post a totally phony review of some place, LOL, like the Buffet at NYNY, or something that exists but photos of dishes they would never serve and such, and see if a similar review gets posted on Yelp. :)

Maybe some Big Mac and McRib pictures to go along with the Chinese restaurant review.

The one I am thinking of is doing a review of the prime rib at Old Homestead at Caesars, using some food pr0n photos taken at Jerry's Nugget, maybe. :)

The problem is that if I posted that here, somebody's gonna chime in and say (correctly) that Old Homestead in LV does not serve prime rib. (The one in Manhattan does, or at least they did last October.) I think the only way that would work is to ask the Mods to please kill any responses to it that point it out.

However, with all of the fuss, the Powers That Be at Yelp certainly now know that Sarah (or Sarabot) is a sham and may have killed her (his? its?) reviews. It's also possible that if Sarah is a real live person, she's following this thread.
