Hello! Super excited about staying downtown for the first time in March! I'd love to get the rundown of what the downtown properties have to offer as far as sports books. Of course, I'm not expecting anything like what can be found on the strip, but just curious to hear if there are a few that are better than others? Any info on any downtown property is appreciated. Thank you!

Binions, El Cortez, Plaza, California, 4Queens, and Fremont are the ones I know of. Since it's been remodeled my vote is the one at the California.

Different people have very different wants when it comes to sports books. What is it you want to do there?

You’re right: downtown sports books are totally different from what you see on the strip, for the most part being smaller and in some cases downright tiny. I think all of the main downtown casinos have one except Golden Gate, where I think they’re building one?

The El Co sports book is affiliated with Stations. I'm no big sports bettor, but they have much better odds for NASCAR.

The Cal and Fremont are Boyd oddsmakers who, IMO are more than just a little tight.

The D, DTG, 4Q, Plaza, and Binion's sportsbooks are run by William Hill. Again, I can't speak to any other sports, but their NASCAR odds suck.

Horses are at the Plaza, Elco and Fremont only. You can't really call the areas at Four Q or Binions real book. The new one at the Cal is nice but no ponies.

You can add the Golden Nugget, which is independent.
Stations and Boyd shade the lines toward the favorites. Bettors at local casinos tend to "favor" the favorites.
William Hill sports tickets can be cashed at any WH location.

Check online for the best lines. Half points do matter.

I don't like the sportsbook at the cal. they don't have a good selection of food items. Unless that has changed in the last few months.

I like the sports book at Four Queens because if you accidentally yawn in line you place a Keno bet. It’s a joke, they are really small and close together. But just picture twelve grown men sitting in elementary school desks. Sports books aren’t much of a thing Downtown, but I wouldn’t mind spending time in the Cal’s since the remodel.

Yes I noted a distinct reduction in the good food and drink deals downtown last summer. Losing mermaids was a blow.
