What restaurant closing in Las Vegas would "totally" bum you out...

is that the one in The STRAT ?

 

Kokomo’s was like dining in a tropical oasis. I loved the Lobster Bisque as well, but I have to say they once served me over cooked lobster half of Surf n. Turf.

 

5 Guys is better.

 

Looking at that menu board, 2 eggs, with bacon, toast & hash browns would run me $15...sorry, but that's not "old school" to me.
The same breakfast at Magnolia's would run about $10, and that's without using the 'Player's Card' special (for two dining), or any 4-Queens comp points.
...but they do have the old-school look!

 

Nope but it's down the street. Used to be White Cross Grill an old school diner/drugstore combo.

The restaurant closure that bummed me out was the coffee shop at the old Las Vegas Club on the second floor. (The Dugout?) I had more than a few meals there.

 

wow, has it been 3 years already? I thought it was more like 2 years.

And nope, I haven't found a replacement yet. I go to in n out more though.

oh well, Boyd's loss as I used to eat at Boyd properties a lot but now - unless I get a comp meal I go elsewhere.

But to tell you the truth it seems that Boyd is trying to chase away customers, esp with their new beunconnected card, resort fees and parking fees.

 

5 Guys is good. So is In-. Habit is right there, too.

 

Oh my goodness, I remember the White Cross Grill! Kinda run down but the waitress was friendly.

We had read about it as an old timey locals place in Frommer’s or Fodor’s (those were the early days of our Las Vegas adventure and we read travel guides, duh, instead of online sites like VMB). But it turned out to be fun and the hamburger and shake were worth the trip. I didn’t realize it’s now gone.

 

Your last trip report @Sonya along with other members reviews convinced me we need to get ourselves to MAG next trip. It is on our ‘must do’ list for our upcoming trip!! Guess we’ll have to see what the temp is that day whether we do patio or inside .

 

If Chipotle is in your list, there may be a problem IMO....

 

Hash House a Go Go, it’s always crazy busy at The Linq, but I would be really bummed if it closed.

Bazaar Meat - love that place, the chef and the service.

 

Zero judgment, it’s just funny to me to see places like Giordanos, Chipotle, Cali Pizza Kitchen, 5 Guys, etc on people’s list since I can get to all of them in under 15 mins here at home- but I guess it’s no different than us midwestern folk salivating over In N Out.

I’m not much of a foodie at all, so all the places I’d miss are more because of the memories there than the food being served.

We always seem to end up at Pub 1842 and Hash House at some point every trip, so I’d be sad if they closed up. Had a great meal with great friends at Prime a few years back. Two places I had a lot of fun with some pals on my first trips were Alize and The Pub at Monte Carlo. Was sad to see both go.

You didn't miss much. It was tricky to get into and out of by car and never caught on.

The photo below was taken just a couple of weeks after their "grand opening" and as you can see, it was dead!
