Not sure if I'm going to feel young or old by the end of this thread... probably a little from column a, and a little from column b.

For myself? Huey Lewis and the News for the Sports album. My dad took me to the (at the time) Providence Civic Center. I was really young... think it was my 9th birthday present? But still have some memories of the show, and still love that album.

How about yours? The more embarrassing, the better :)

I've never been to an actual concert, but Celine's "A New Day" would be as close as I can get. It was back when I was just 48...seems like yesterday.

My first concert, I was 16 and won tickets on the radio to see Chicago at the Greek theater in LA. What a great show that was!

I can't remember, but it would have been either James Gang, Paul Revere and the Raiders or The Turtles.

It was a summer jam, had Steve Miller band, Foreigner, REO Speedwagon and Thin Lizzy. Eight hours of sunshine and underage drinking and drugs. The stadium field was a sea of tarps and passed out partiers.

Edit to add: it might've been Carlos Santana...but the above was so much better that I will just stick with my original answer

    J. Geils band at Madison Square Garden. Don't remember how old I was but the opening act was Brownsville Station whose only recognizable song was Smokin in the Boys Room

Depends on what you call a concert. Back then the bar/club shows I remember (Flash Cadillac, Fire Over Gibraltar, Sweathog, Edgar Winter/White Trash) were often called concerts and I know I can't place the first I saw.

If you mean huge arena type touring concerts, probably Ten Years After. Original Black Sabbath about the same time. Most memorable one back in the days was BTO opening for REO! :) Really! :) Not to show my real age here. :)
