Caesars Augustus. Laurel strip or PH Ultra Resort Vista or PH Ultra Hip strip suite?

A friend and I are going to LV. When we put in as companions lots of different comp room choices pop up than I get alone. We are trying to decide between these 3 rooms. The Caesars room looks like a great basic room...Any pro and cons to Augustus tower?

The PH rooms are interesting...strange layout has anyone stayed in them? Do all the vista rooms have the odd shaped windows? Pros and cons to these rooms.

 

I can speak to that CP room. Its good. The rooms are big, have bathroomss with separate sinks, separate shower and tub, and a spacious sitting area. The furniture in the Augustus rooms is a bit worn and nicked up. But the bed and pillows are super comfy. Its a good room and where I usually stay when I am at CP

 

I stayed in a King Deluxe room in the Augustus tower in September. I loved it! Big room, and as UK said, a great bathroom and very comfy bed! If you like a good view, I also had a wonderful fountain view. However, that may depend on where in the tower you are.

 

Wasn't the Augustus tower renovated in the last year or two?

 

I don't know. If it was, then I have been unlucky in getting rooms where the furniture is not in the best shape

 

Yes, Caesars Augustus rooms have been "refreshed" within the past couple of years. New carpet, wallpaper, TV, etc. I've stayed in a fountain-facing Augustus room numerous times and it's probably my favorite CET non-suite room. I've stayed in a Panorama Suite at PH, but never the Resort Vista or Strip Suite. One thing to keep in mind since you're going with a friend is that you would only have one bed in the Strip Suite and possibly also the Resort Vista (don't know if they offer 2 queens on that room type).

 

Stayed all all 3 rooms. All the rooms have been renovated and/or refreshed in the last 2-3 years. As some of the above posters have stated already, I'd choose CP Augustus tower rooms out of the choices. It has double sinks, double queen beds which would be more feasible since you're going with a friend. It also has a nice living/seating area with a nice size sofa. It's right by Diamond check-in and Lounge areas, 5-7 minute walk to strip. The only con I see or for me at least which doesn't matter to me but for others it may, is the distance to the parking garage if you have a rental car.

Both the PH Ultra Hip Strip Suite and Ultra Resort Vista are nice rooms also. But both only have one bed and bathroom/sink. The Ultra Resort doesn't really have a hangout/living area. The room has a weird layout, with some wasted space IMO. The Ultra Hip Suite would be the better out of the 2 since it's a 1bedroom suite. Nice living/seating area which you can sleep on comfortably. Be warned though, there is NO door to the bathroom. From the bed you can see into the bathroom. So not really feasible if you're going with a friend, unless you and your friend don't mind. It's a really nice room, but more for a couple.

One bed does not bother us we have done suites several times with a king (tough to pass up a free upgrade)...the seeing into the bathroom might be weird...although one could be in the sitting area instead of on the bed while the other showers...two sinks would be nice. My sister in law really likes the casino at planet ho better... she likes the louder fun music. Tough decision.

Stay in the Augustus Tower at CP and do a lot of your playing at PH if she likes that casino.

 

Just booked an 5 nights comped Augustus room - strip view at CP for MMILV. Usually do Ballys but wife wanted to try Caesars! Sounds like I made a good decision

 

Just got back from the Augustus Strip View last week. One of the better standard rooms I've stayed in in Vegas. Very nice, roomy, quiet, great bathroom. Tower is close to lobby and valet. Room has a bit of wear, mostly on the traffic areas of the carpet and as others have said a few nicks here and there on furniture but nothing out of the ordinary for a room a couple years out from a refresh. One of the I'd say top 3 views I've had in Vegas...this was from 30th floor to the right of the elevator banks.

 

Wow. I hope to get that view in March !

 

Probably worth mentioning that Augustus is one of the towers where the floors numbers don't equal the actual number of traditional floors you are above ground level.

Your 30th floor room at Augustus is roughly about 10 true floors above ground level. Jubilee at Ballys is another tower that does this.

 

That seems really weird and arbitrary to do the floor numbering like that. Why call it the 30th floor? Why not the 50th to sound more impressive?

Having stayed in the Augustus a couple of times recently, I have nothing but great things to say about it. Very comfortable, great view, and convenient to get to.

No idea, maybe to sound more impressive, but still somewhat believable? Or maybe there's a more practical reason that I'm not aware if.

Anyways, I took this screenshot of a video posted by "NationalElevator" on YouTube. If the description is accurate, it is indeed a 20 floor difference between stated and actual...

 

I always thought it had something to do with being able to identify which tower you were in without having to say it, so when you called for some sort of service, they could just ask you for your room number and the room number would also identify the tower. But CP has 5 towers not including NOBU, so I guess it wouldn't really work there.

When I used to stay at CP, when I'd call to have the bell bring up (or come get) my stuff, they never asked which tower I was in. But I guess the phone system probably has some sort of display that tells them.

 

Makes sense, especially at a place like Ballys where, if memory serves, the Jubilee tower floor numbers start where the Resort tower numbers end.
