NYE festivities! Gwen... Celine... VGK... Gambling... Booze... *semi-live

Well folks, the day has finally come... we're heading to Vegas baby!!

On August 28 we hit this in Niagara Falls...



... and a little later on that evening we booked flights to Vegas for NYE Now that's how you spend your winnings!

As you can see from my timer, we should be hitting the ground in the Holy Land about 10:30pm... we have quite the trip planned and I'll do my best to keep it at least semi-live with an update or 2 (or more) daily. If details cannot be conveyed as much as I'd like, I will do a post-trip recap.

It's a bit of a long travel day... we have a 3.5 hour drive ahead of us, then a 5 hour flight out of TO. But as you all know, it's totally worth it!

As for an itinerary... we got a car rental for the trip which was decent at $110 all in for the 6 days. We will be hitting up Wal-Mart on Eastern Ave to pick up some drinks and snacks for the room. It used to be open 24 hours but it now closes at midnight, so if we don't make it there by midnight we will hit the one up on Tropicana.

Then it's check-in at Luxor, 1 bedroom tower room, and down to the casino for some drinks and gambling.

For NYE we have reservations at Tender for dinner and tickets to Gwen Stefani at P-Ho. This will be followed by witnessing the 80,000 fireworks light up the Strip at midnight from somewhere around the corner of the Strip and Tropicana.

New years day we have tickets to see the Golden Knights take on the LA Kings. I have plans to meet up with Bernie Nicholls before the game, hopefully timing works out. I had Bernie come out to my charity golf tournament last June and he was a great guest. It'll be nice to catch up.

We move to Caesars on the 2nd and have tickets to see Celine on the 4th. On the 5th we are taking the red-eye home leaving at 11:55pm which should leave us enough time to catch a bit of The Dan Band at House of Blues starting at 7pm.

One day we plan to take the rental on a tour off the Strip to the West. We did the East casinos last summer and had a blast so we figured we'd try that again. We also hope to hit up downtown for a few hours one day as we had a blast down there during our trip last January. I'm hoping to add a few $1 chips to my collection during this off Strip tour as well.

Outside of this we have tickets to take a spin, or should I say hang, on the new zip line at the Linq and we plan to use the 2 CET Diamond show tickets as well as the $100 dinner. Just not sure which show we want to see or which restaurant we want to eat at.

And not sure if you seen the thread in the 'slots' section, but if you haven't I'll post it here too... Santa came early this year and gave me a really nice present...





I still can't believe it to be honest! But it happened and it was awesome!

Unfortunately $11k cdn only converts to $493 US haha It's not quite that bad but it is a huge kick in the sack at 40% Costs very close to $1400 cdn for $1k US. That hurts.

Nevertheless my bankroll for the trip is staying the same as usual which is somewhere just south of $5500. This will be enjoyed in a variety of ways, mainly slots and blackjack. I also hope to play a little pai gow and perhaps a little video poker as well. I may even attempt a sports bet.

I'm hoping my recent luck will follow me to Vegas! Can't wait to hit the ground running!

Have a fabulous time - I was looking at a compilation of Matt Bridger's video's and of course he shows the big win from the group slot pull. If I recall correctly, you hit the big one for the group!!! Lucky year for you - hope it continues into 2019!!

Well, the plan was to take it easy as we got in late... but when do plans ever work out in Vegas?! We got drunk waiting in line to check in haha GF grabbed a couple of Pyramid drinks at check in which kept us happy as we waited in the ginormous line.
Ill post a pick of the drink shortly...it's awesome!
No big hits but we got some good play for our money... we're getting cleaned up now and going to attempt the buffet as we got free ones due to a snafu at check in.
