Inbound in Several Months

Well, got word this past week that it's official. I am moving out to my company's office in Vegas.

In three months or less we'll be living in the desert.

I am extremely excited, and somewhat scared, and kinda numb while thinking of all the things that need to be done between now and then. Like ... finding a place to live, lol.

To avoid the rush hour traffic, try to find a suitable place to live relatively close to where you are going to work. Another suggestion is to rent until you are sure that the Las Vegas and desert lifestyle is OK with you.

I moved here in October 1991 and rented a furnished apartment (right behind the Gold Coast). Found employment in the healthcare field and decided that Las Vegas was "home". Bought a condo in October 1992 and then a house in February 1997. Still here and now retired.

 

I agree with Don. Rent for a year and get to know the town better to decide where you want to live and what is
important to you. Many people think the casino closest is important. Over time many like myself have less concern
about casinos. Quiet and safe neighborhoods are my main concern and distance to shopping and grocery stores are
close second.

 

Renting a year is the plan ... we picked a place near Spring Mountain and Hualapai and have placed a deposit. Admittedly it was not until last night that I actually looked what our closest casinos would be, lol.

Less than a month to our move in!
