D9C3F062-B4E0-4D18-A506-D519EFF9CC23.jpeg anyone else as excited about the first American Super car, as I am?
I’ve owned a few in the past (they were my $$$ hobby before gambling)
The delay of this is perfect for me, gives me more time to save up

Darn it. I was really looking forward to seeing something come to fruition soon rather than later. Now it looks like more waiting.

I lost 2 corvettes in the flooding from Hurricane Harvey in August 2017 (a 1975 Stingray Roadster and a 2011 LT2) and was really looking forward to what the mid-engine offering looked like (although I'll likely wait for the 2nd model year - letting them fix the kinks on the first model, before buying one).

So it looks like I'm now looking at 2020, 2021 or 2022.

I don't follow the classification of cars closely. Did the Viper not qualify as an American Made Super car? It was an amazing performance vehicle from everything I remember reading about it.

Pretty sure the current Ford GT qualifies as a super car

GM is 20 year s too late with this and like Texas Rock said, never take the first year model of a car...im not big on corvettes because they arent easy to get out of and a pain to work on (front engine), im sure it will have an $80k+ price tag for a base model one so out of my price range for something not practical for myself...I would take a Ford GT40 though, 2nd or 3rd gen

old ones can be had but expensive $300k-$500k range, you can buy a new one if you find someone who is ready to deal with a lawsuit (john cena)...the two year car hold is almost up so the new ones will be available soon

they have a restaurant here in the French Quarter named Mahoneys Poboys...the owner decided to display in the restaurant window his 2nd gen and 3rd gen GT40...not sure how he even got on the short list to get one

I was referring to the OP call the new 'vette the first American made Super Car. I can see it being the first GM Super Car but I thought the Viper and Ford GT also qualified but I'm not sure if I'm correct on that... my current hunt is for an Excursion, so I'm in a little different category of car search, lol.

Either way, I stand by this ride looking Dead Sexy.

I’m sorry, this is a hobby? Meaning a new car? I thought a hobby was fixing up a busted up car to what you want your vision to be. But it this is anew car “hobby” I’m not sure I understand. [emoji1744]‍[emoji3603]

They make both. They are the Hellcat model. I believe not quite 800hp but close.
