I seen on a betting site the lines are out for them, not sure if Vegas books has them out already but I seen Seattle Seahawks is 8.5. I think when I go in a couple weeks I will take the under. Anyone else betting total season wins?

I will, but I usually wait until the third or fourth week of pre-season. Don't know yet who may get injured

Is it too early to start researching these? Does anyone have a good reference for thoughts on them? I am going to be in Vegas Labor Day weekend and intend to make some small plays on win totals, in addition to NCAA wagers, NFL week 1 wagers, and futures (World Series plus Super Bowl winners). I've found a couple of random sites with leans but wasn't sure if there were any reliable sources that weren't outrageously priced for a small stakes gambler.

I get good intel from the VSIN channel on XM satellite radio. Their website offers access to lines as well.

Raiders under 8.5 seems to be a popular pick but I think that schedule is too soft. I really like Bucs under 7.5. Should be 0-3 or 1-4, I don't know how they get to 8, and it's even +100!

Browns over 5.5 is apparently catching a lot of interest, but I would take the under. This same level of hype happened with them last year.

Raiders under 8 for all the marbles!

Not sure yet about other plays but I won't make my bets until labor day weekend so I have plenty of time to research/study.

Yeah, in my current power rankings, i have the Raiders in the second half of the league, so this result would not surprise me. Especially if they trade Mack! That rumor is insane

Local broadcasters have the Seahawks winning 7, FWIW. That team has fallen but it is hard to predict how far. Browns, the team I followed since childhood, are in a state of near-total disarray if you can believe the way it looked on "Hard Knocks" the other night. The team is rudderless. The coach is a basket case. Assistant coaches are clueless. Players don't want to practice. I recognized two players from 2 years ago. They have a couple promising players on offense, and might score some TD's, but who will stop the other team? I would take the under.

Patriots over 11 1/2, they have won at least 12 games many times. Easier for them too as the rest of the AFC East is weak.
NYG opened at 6 1/2 and is now up to 7 as people are betting the over. If everybody is healthy, the over is a good bet.
San Francisco at 8 1/2 is too high for a rebuilding team.

I thought the Cowboys had no chance of breaking 8.5 wins this year with Dez cut loose and no early moves to fill the void. I just saw teams stacking the line on Zeke and plenty of losses in their future, and that's pretty much how the season started, but then Cooper comes in and ruins everything. I'm actually a huge Cowboys fan, but it sure looked like a long year for them at the beginning. FINALLY a smart move by Jerry!
So anyway, How are your picks doing? Any surprises? Heartbreaks? Any that have already come through or flopped miserably?

So far, I have four winners and three losers. And I will likely end up with two more on each side (Baltimore Over and Giants under still look promising and Seattle Under and Tennessee Under don't look as good). I would say the bet I have been the most off on was betting the under on the Chiefs. Shockingly, I got two winners (Saints and Rams overs) before I lost that one. I also lost the Vikes over, who I thought was the best team coming into the season. But I won't end up losing that one by much

Saints over. Texans over. Ravens over 8 still in ? And titans under 8 may be dicey.
I don’t care for the odds listed on season long bets like this...only the titans were =. Saints -135 Titans. EvenTexans. -130Ravens. -145 although it does give you something to keep up with during the season so I can’t complain.

Had a few Packers bets which are all but dead.

However, I was in Vegas when the Bears traded for Kahlil Mack. The Bellagio hadn't yet adjusted their line, so I threw $20 on them to win the NFC North at 10:1. Almost there...

The day after last years superbowl, I placed a bet for the Chiefs to win this years superbowl. Still rooting for that one.
