Okay, say I want to eat a whole lotta shrimp. As in... I want to really go to town, and it won't make sense to order a-la-carte, thus making a buffet the preferable option. Where can I find the best buffet for shrimp? Price no object, location no issue.

To be clear, I'm looking for this kind of shrimp, served hot not cold...

Bacchanal Buffet serves then big , but they are cold , you want like a scampi type shrimp and I cannot think of a buffet that serves them hot.

The AYCE buffet at the palms serves honey walnut shrimp, hot and all you can eat.

I don't eat cold seafood. I also like the shrimps in OP's first photo, sans the cilantro/parsley.
I believe some Vegas buffets do serve hot shrimps, not sure which one.

You might be better off at Red Lobster Shrimpfest.

agree with @hammie red lobster was my first thought.
Since you said price is not a problem why not one of the seafood places like The Boiling Crab?

Garden Court Buffet at MSS.... I suspect the shrimp are small but that's fine with me. I'll be trying it out next Tuesday.

To be clear, I believe “scampi” refers to the ones in the second picture (I’ve come to understand from my research that “shrimp scampi” and “scampi” are two different things).

This is one situation in which I want to be wrong. I’d love to hear about your findings next Tuesday if you’d be inclined to provide an update!

My pleasure. Since you sort of warned me, I will most likely confirm before I pay. Peeling shrimp is not my idea of enjoying eating shrimp.

Agreed... and I found this out the hard way after I paid $25 to enter the Paradise buffet at Fremont a few trips ago on their seafood night only to find out they didn't have real shrimp, only that stuff that I believe is classified as "scampi". They're just gross, I can't stand them. I suspect that both MSS and Fremont get their buffet food from the same supplier, so it would not surprise me at all if they were both exactly what we're hoping it's not.

Praying that I'm wrong though! :)

I was advised by my hotel's concierge to hold off on booking any tours until the snow situation is clearer (she said wait until the beginning of December to make bookings, so I'll be making my calls on Monday).

As of right now, the tours I want to do include a dog sledding tour, a snowshoeing tour, and the gondola ride at Heavenly. It's possible I may also do a boat tour to Emerald Bay as well.

Awesome! My experience as far as I can remember at Seafood Buffets is the shrimp is served cold (but at least peeled). I'm thinking if shrimp is offered hot a lot of people would not go home and live at the buffet, lol!

I think the last time I saw hot shrimp was at Wicked Spoon and they served them with potatoes and mini cobs of corn in individual tiny pails.

That is total bollocks. I’m allergic to potatoes and I can’t stand the taste of corn.

I’m planning on having a friend over to my house for brunch the day before my trip, I’m thinking perhaps I should just make us a massive pile of shrimps so that I can get my shrimp fix in without chasing down “real” shrimp at the buffets since that seems to be an impossible thing to find.

Well it was nothing what I had expected, nor I'm certain you would have expected. First off the shrimpy- shrimp were warm. What scampi turned out to be was a bowl of popcorn size shrimp served in a sort of warm milky cream sauce. No Thank you, passed on that.

As the other person pointed out, Bacchanal has the cold ones, but I think you can bring them over to the station where they boil the crab legs and ask them to dunk your shrimp into the hot water, I don’t see why they wouldn’t accommodate you.
