I wonder if they got the rights to the name 'Glitter Gulch' when they bought the Strip Club building. Probably not a name for the whole property but would work as a name for a bar/restaurant.

I like “Glitter Gulch” for an internal venu! I think I read that they did not get the rights to “The Las Vegas Club” with the purchase, but could be wrong. I will be happy just to see it coming up out of the ground—regardless of the name.

The name "The Nevada Rose" just popped in my head. Paying homage to the state it's in and Rose because it should be a female and Rose just sounded good to me.

Grandissimo is really a tribute to Jay Sarno, the creator of Caesars Palace.

If you haven't read the biography of Sarno, called Grandissimo by Dave Schwartz, it's well worth a read.

Grandissimo doesn't seem like a wise choice to me. It will get shortened to the Grand and there is already a 'Grand' downtown. I don't think Stevens would risk choosing a name that could be confused with another casino downtown.

LOL, how about "18 Freemont" [sic]. Put some reality into that much-too-frequent misspelling! :)

You totally took my idea here!

Actually Wade came up with that on our trip this past summer. Think I mentioned it in our TR.

    Would be hilarious!!

Yeah, but Grandissimo would be Grander than just Grand. It would be Grandest!

(Seriously, I agree: it's a terrible name. And it would drive me nuts hearing people pronounce it "grand-uh-SEE-mo")

El Dorado comes up, but that name is probably tied up. I was thinking you could do the Spanish version of Golden Gate, Puerta Dorada, but people would remove the middle two letters from the first word and call it that.

There's an "Eldorado" hotel/casino in Shreveport... Reno-based Eldorado Resorts owns it, as well as several other properties...they're currently in the process of acquiring Tropicana Entertainment ( https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20181001005871/en/Eldorado-Resorts-Completes-Tropicana-Entertainment-Acquisition)

...I suppose he could go full-blown 'ego', and simply call it "Derek's"

If he was going to go full ego then D's place might be good. IMO it would be Biff's place only if Stevens was really drunk that day lol Why register the trademarks for Grandissimo and then change your mind? Its happened before.
