I loved the pictures you guys took, there were so many from different angles and a different view point. And so many off the beaten path( strip and DT, tho plenty of those to). I was kinda in and out following along but it seems like you two are pretty easy going, in fact I don’t remember reading ANY complaints and that’s really something considering all the different rooms and restaurants!! Thanks for the great trip report and pictures.

Really enjoyed the trip report. Was debating giving Skyline a try and after reading your report, will head out there on my next trip.

Excellent report, love the pics of so many places I've never seen before. Appreciate you taking the time to bring us all along and agree on the VP, glad you're having fun first instead of constantly worrying about strategy when you're there to have fun, which can detract a bit

    Keep having a blast!

Yes it was at the bar. Mr. V played and Mrs. V watched and the bartenders had the drinks before us before we even had money out. Never hassled is about one playing and two drinking. And the bartender was asking if we were ready for another before even half done. I really enjoyed the great service we received.

That's very impressive! Sorry if I missed it, but do you collect anything from each casino?

@PartTimeDegen why yes Mr. V does. That’s part of what started the massive casino runs each trip. $1 chips from every casino that we are aware of with table games, a shot glass for every casino we have stayed at, and recently started a dice collection. Oh and decks of cards.

The Final Report: Well we left Las Vegas at 12:15 CST and arrived in Amarillo TX at 1:00 am CST so we made good time and had a good trip. Listened to the MN Gopher / Wis Badger game on the radio this afternoon and was very pleased that the Gophers won and will be bringing Paul Bunyan's Axe home where it belongs. Taking it at Camp Randall Stadium after all of these years made it just that much sweeter. Well I bet some more college football and except for the Gophers cover, it was not a good day. Ended up down another $278.00 but that’s ok the Gophers beat the Badgers and that made my day.

So far we have covered 2436 miles used 114 gal of gas for a cost of $335.00.

After thinking about our stay in Las Vegas we liked the SKYLINE HOTEL & CASNIO room the best and will stay again. This is mostly a VP joint with some other slots thrown in. And you can play black jack at certain times. The room was impeccable. The customer service outstanding. The antiques in the joint are amazing. Oh- they had a country and western live band playing Friday night – she loved it.

The ARIA room was our second favorite but that was the only thing we liked about the place. I am guessing we won’t be back there. Too much walking and too spendy of food options for the most part for our taste. It was also very crowded – but hey, with 4000 rooms what do you expect? Mrs. V would like to say that the remote control device to control everything in the room was super cool. She doesn’t like the pre-stocked fridges. The bed was super comfy.

EASTSIDE CANNERY - really like this place. Hope they spend the money to bring back the stuff they closed and keep the cannery’s comp system.

ARIZONA CHARLIES DECATUR - great food options and pretty good rooms but they removed most of the slots I liked. That did not help but still really liked the sports book.

ELLIS ISLAND - liked the room better than ADC and the food was awesome but in the end, they just don’t have enough to do for a longer stay for us. One day was perfect. We enjoyed our time there and will be back. Really like the little joint.

Food: we found out we still think the WRANGLER GRILL, JERRY’S COFFEE SHOP, & SOURDOUGH CAFÉ, are the best little cafes. Best Italian food - ITALIAN AMERICAN SOCIAL CLUB - another excellent meal. Buffets - WICKED SPOON was great as usual and really like the SUNSET STATION BUFFET, not so much the new AYCE at Palms – it was not that special. All the pizza we had was good with GIORDANO’s being the best. Best drinks still goes to FRANKIES TIKI ROOM. Shows - the MOB STOREY was ok I would not go again but think the wife would.

All and all a great trip. We found some new places to go (the missus really liked Club Fortune) and enjoyed some of our old haunts along the way and enjoyed doing this trip report and telling you what we think about the stuff we try. If you have any question feel free to ask, Thanks for following along Mr. & Mrs. Vegas.

I'm going to re-read your report and take notes as to some of the places you visited. I've never stepped foot inside many of them, but will in January/Skyline for one. Thanks again for taking us along for the ride...it sure was enjoyable.

Wow that's quite the collection! I like the idea of collecting different things depending on whether you've stayed, gambled, etc. How do you display all of these? Any pictures of the collection you want to share?

I collect $1 chips too (prob going to start $5s soon haha) and just got this display case for my favorite chips. Going to get another cheaper one for the office after our next trip to Vegas.
